Oh, no, wait, I bought Titanfall 2... long after it came out, after reviews revealed it to be a good game with a good singleplayer. I guess that's what it really comes down to: wait and see. Never, ever, ever buy an EA game on release day. If by some miracle it's actually good, go ahead and get it. No harm in rewarding good behavior. But standard procedure for EA is assume it's **** until proven otherwise. All these people complaining about BF2 could have been spared had they waited a month before buying it, and found out ahead of time the pile of **** being offered.

To be fair that's solid advice for any game. It's silly to believe anything game journalists report these days. If you don't want to get ripped off never buy a game the day it comes out, period.

Well said. It's more important in some cases than others, some companies have less reliable reputations than others, but even for those that are reliably good, there is no harm in waiting a couple of weeks to be safe.

Last time I bought an EA game, I remember at least, was the Harry Potter games for playstation.

That **** was my childhood, so I don't regret a single thing, even if it did fund EA.

But it was 20 dollars and I never touched multiplayer because my friend and I just wanted to play survival

I haven't really enjoyed multiplayer since CoD: World at War. I was into World of Tanks for awhile but the grinding needed is obscene and not respawning in matches just makes it less fun. Being one-shot by someone with premium rounds or from being mismatched in a higher tier match takes the fun out of it.

I couldn't get into MOBA's or any serious MMORPG's. Too much grinding. I don't mind investing a lot of time into a game I enjoy. I'm creeping up on 1000 hours in Civ 6. I just don't like when you have to grit through the first 100 hours of gameplay for it to become enjoyable. Games as a service will only drive the industry into the ground.

Isn't that one of their clone lines anyway? I've never understood why you sports guys buy the same exact sports game each year. It's one thing if they redesign their physics model from the ground up and bring clearly superior graphics to the table but from what I've seen most of their sports games have the stats updated once a year and some minor tweaking done, then are sold for $80 a pop with a season pass as a brand new game. Hasn't it made you feel ripped off? Or do I have an incredibly skewed view and have been missing a huge part of it that will make the whole picture make sense?

Having the correct stats and team sheets adds a lot to the enjoyment of the game if you're heavily into football. Sure the price is high but the games do offer a lot of enjoyment in spite of being only slightly different each year

I think a big part of it is sports fans are essentially different from gamers as well. Sports fans are used to their hobby being ridiculously expensive have you seen the cost of tickets and merch? but part of being a sports guy is spending money to show support of your team. They go out and buy the new Madden each year for the same reason they buy more jerseys when they already have more than they'll ever wear: it's expected.
