you really thought some outrage on Reddit would bring them down?
thats just BS.
they changed some sheit, now people are pleased.....business as usual. as long as the customers dont make changes in their behavior everything EA does is nothing but sham

That's not really that much considering it is EA and it is on a small flux. It is just stocks, it tends to fluctuate by the months. I wouldn't be surprised it rising on their next game's release, regardless of how stupid it will be.
Also, Rareflag.

That's not significant. CD Projekt went down 9% in the last 24 hours. It's normal for stock to fluctuate somewhat.

It's almost as though people mad at microtransactions are not, in fact, EA's target demographic. It's almost as if they prefer their customers to fall for the same tricks to create reliable business.

Oh no. A
point
. How will they ever recover? Y'know, other than overhyping a game and then fragmenting the features in DLC so the cuntsumer base bitches their tits off but buys the game anyways.

Look at the 5 year chart, they've managed to go form $13 a share to $112. while still ******** on the public and player.

Look at the worth from 2007-2009. The 13$ is sort of an outlier

What could POSSIBLY be the reason any company dropped in 2008? It's not like anything significant happened in the world of economy in 2008.
Sub-prime morgage crisis, and cascades into crisis in lots of other fields, particularly luxury items, including video games.
Sadly, this was paired with some of the greatest risk-taking in terms of game design that EA has ever taken. Games like mirror's edge and army of two flopped hard, in terms of sales, and as a result, we see the plague that was super safe and no-risk game design that was 2009-2013.

I remember Skyrim, APB, Dark Souls, Borderlands, GRID, Fallout NV, Dragon's Dogma, L4D 1 and 2...
I'd say was a pretty gud time for games.

I distinctly dislike skyrim and borderlands. I feel indiferent about both L4Ds. I never played APB or GRID, but particularly APB dosen't seem like my jam at all. The only game on the list i'd consider a real classic is Dark souls, although i can understand the people who would also include New Vegas there too.
And my gut feeling is that jap games weren't nearly as affected by the economic downturn as western games were.
I'm not saying there were no good games in the period, but it was definitely the era of console military shooters still dominating the market, and lower than average AAA innovation.
Skyrim was way less different to it predecessors than oblivion was, and felt more like an "oblivion 2" than "TES 5."
Borderlands had some fresh combinations, but each idea separately had already been proven.
Fallout NV is built on the quality writing and worldbuilding, and combining some old CRPG stuff into the FO3 formula.
Dragon's Dogma has innovative pawn and grappling mechanics which is cool. I'm just not considering it so strongly when i look at the overall trend, because it's japan, it didn't get widely copied, and it didn't sell THAT great.
Left 4 Dead was also an innovative game, but it was released in 2008, a year of quite a great deal of innovation, and must have been near completion once economic reality hit. L4D2 was not particularly innovative at all, it just refined the formula a lot
I'm not saying NO innovation occurred, or no great games were released, i'm just saying the trend was towards cautious investment in (perceived) guaranteed successes

Just because you don't like Borderlands doesn't mean it's not a successful game franchise.

Well you're not wrong, but i sense that's not the point of your post. I don't get it though.
I'm talking about innovation, and you're talking about success. Did you understand the point i was trying to make? I feel like you wouldn't post the way you did, if you did.

Borderlands innovated the entire "shoot and loot" genre which a ton of games drew inspiration from since. It also innovated in the "drop in, drop out" matchmaking which almost no other game has got right since.

I'd very much argue that borderlands didn't get it right either, since levling to be roughly equal was a lot of work, and you'd have to have dedicated co-op characters, or just happen to be at the same level as your friends. Not gonna say it's not innovative, but certainly not good. Shoot-and-loot has existed before borderlands though. Fallout 3 certainly does some of the same, even if it isn't as heavy on the gun part, because of VATS, although that's an optional mechanic that i know some people disabled with mods.
Apart from making it a first person shooter, the main gameplay loop is very much like a mediocre MMORPG with some Diablo mixed in.
Maybe i'm not giving it enough credit because of my bias against it. could be.
Still, the general trend in the economic down-turn after 2008 was less risk and stick with what already is proven to work.

Yeah, you make fair points though. The game had it's flaws, but all games do. Still, the drop in and out gameplay just with matchmaking is something I've not seen replicated by another game yet.
Sure FO3 had the loot and was technically a shooter, but the engine difference between the games makes Borderlands the better shooter. Also as you mentioned the Diablo style loot drops meant you may find a specific piece of loot but the stats might not be "perfect" either.

Intra day price fluctuations are the norm for stocks. Are you familiar with the stock market? The prices are generally unstable as people have different opinions on any given stocks worth.

Actually that's a decent amount if it were a consistent drop. The reason this is irrelevant is because it dropped that much within a few hours.
