What I hated more was his misuse of mention lists to overpower other users even with his own political grouping.
Too many times did I see someone fairly criticize him or add their perspective.
Only for him to block them and/or use his list to send his followers onto them.

For his size he could of easily overwhelmed a user like me, which as much as I disliked him I tried to stay on his good side.
Though I have seen more fairer fights between him and users of a more equal following.

Needless to say I'm glad he's gone, though the pedo thing does come in a close second.
Even more ****** up is, he tried quite a few times to frame those who found themselves in arguments with him as pedos.

I find it's usually the person that's against something that is guilty of it.
for example pedophiles say pedo's are bad and gays say gays are bad while pretending they are not what the hate.

Now this is rarely the case for most people. But in infinitepedophiles case it was very true.

Small/medium sized company makes good games
Gets bought out
Makes one good game under EA name
EA starts pulling the company apart, firing people who can now no longer work on the things they made
EA demands that a new addition to the franchise be made - it has the name & artwork, but it's gameplay is lousy and the devs who made the original are long gone
EA concludes that people don't like the IP anymore, and archives everything

If the game cannot stand on its own merit, then it clearly doesn't fall under "whatever games appeal to me", and I won't buy it. But if it can, then I don't mind spending a few bucks on an add-on that can breathe life back into a game I may otherwise have been done enjoying.
There have been plenty of games that got cut down to unplayable **** by just about every developer out there - and "intentionally cutting out parts to sell to you later" is probably the smallest part of why that happens.

Or what they did with Star Wars Battlefront where the actual game only had a couple of maps and then they sold the rest to the player, being sure to advertise a season pass long before the game came out.

Why is this so hard to understand? Do you think I just buy everything EA ***** out? No. I buy the games that appeal to me. I never played past Dead Space 2 because of reasons you listed. I bought Battlefront used years after the fact because I wasn't going to pay full price to the developer who put it out unfinished.
The fact is EA isn't the only company doing those things. I redirect to Warframe: insanely popular, right? Within the first 3 missions it introduces platinum, the pay-to-win product. And yet there is no outrage saying we should boycott Digital Extremes. Why? Because it's still a good game that you can enjoy despite platinum being a thing.

What the **** do you think pay to win is? Like you just pay them and suddenly BOOM "congratulations! High score!"?
Pay-to-win is being able to pay for things you would otherwise have to grind and wait for. Including better equipment (schematics and ingredients), cool down times (forge competing times), and even quest/missions (such as hatching the Kubrow egg).
So yes, you can grind away and wait and get all these things. Or you can pay and get them all in the time it takes you to enter your payment information. That is pay-to-win.

However, the Beta, which only included stock components, was extremely enjoyable. And that makes me more likely to buy it.
Having the best gun doesn't make playing against you unplayable, which is why Warframe is still fun regardless. It's when you introduce strength and speed boosts like what is described in the new Halo games that it becomes a problem - which is why I stopped playing after Halo 4. Not because I refuse to play Microsoft games, but because I took the individual title on its own merit, weighed the options, and decided against it.

Which is where we come to our issue.

If the game launched and was exactly like the beta but with more content, it would "stand on its own merit".

But just adding microtransactions makes that same game worse. The game is the same, but in PVP focused modes, someone who is WORSE than you can kill you and win just because he spent more money for DPS upgrades or health boosts, which kinda ***** it all up.

but warframe is free, unless they started to charge without my knowledge but that's the thing a free game can have micro-transactions in them all the live long day no one is going to be upset because those micro-transactions are your toll to play the game, they're designed to be desirable and the put mental anguish on the player to purchase them, but you don't have to buy them. They aren't semantics. They are qualifiers. If Warframe is off the hook for being free, then where is the cutoff? If it's "100% free, then you're allowed pay-to-win microtransactions" so be it.
And to your second, rambling and sarcastic, point: how is my refusal to buy microtransactions any different than the original proposal to buy EA games because of microtransactions? I'm against a specific practice that is done by multiple studios, not just EA, so I avoid that practice. If enough people do it, we may see change. You don't just put in your credit card and get taken to the last level - it is literally what you just said: paying to make things go faster. You can pay to not have to wait for forge times, or to get access to better schematics and ingredients sooner, or to finish actual quests like hatching your first kubrow.
You pay so you can level up faster, get better stuff, and finish certain missions. That's pay to win.

You can't really win Warframe though. P2W would be like a mobile game where you have the option to buy a bunch of vastly overpowered **** to dominate your opponent and beat them in whatever way the game plays. With Warframe spending money is just being lazy. It doesn't give you an advantage over other players since you can get everything that they have, the only difference being that they can get it faster. Getting things faster with money isn't winning, it's just lazy.

Are you trolling me or something? Because you literally just described two things that are exactly the same but insist they are different.
Clash of Clans or Forge of Empires, for example. There is no end game "win" - just more fights with other players. You can get literally everything in the game without paying cash - but you can do it much faster by paying cash. That's pay-to-win.
The exact same thing is true about Warframe - you can buy your way into all the cool ****. Massively powerful weapons, armor, and items can all be bought - but even more specifically, time can be bought. You can wait hours for a forge to complete, or pay to rush it. Same for those ****** mobile games: you can wait hours to build up troops and gold, or pay to rush it.

Clash of clans isn't pay to win either. You can sink hundreds of dollars into it and still get your ass kicked. Someone who upgraded straight to a lvl 10 town hall won't automatically be unbeatable because he'll only get matched with other people of a similar level. I think you're confusing general microtransactions as p2w. Being able to accelerate your progress doesn't mean you'll win.

Cant think of any games that blatantly give the paying player an unbeatable advantage over the f2p players, but war thunder comes close. Buying the premium planes which are faster, have better maneuverability, or better armaments. The XP-38, for example, is objectively better than the p-38. It can outmaneuver it in any dogfight and then tear it to shreds with it's 20mm cannons. In those instances, that's pay to win since the item bought give the buyer a near uncounterable advantage and there is little-to-nothing that the f2p player can do about it, save for getting the drop on the xp-38 when the pilot isn't paying attention. Clash of clans, Warframe, etc, aren't pay to win because the games PvP mode balances everything out. I do 53,000 damage with my Tigris prime, but if I take it into PvP it's probably one of the worst guns to choose, and with clash it's all about base design and strategy, and you can't really but those with money.

Pay-to-win is accelerated progression. You pay to get equipment, powers, items, and missions you would otherwise have to work to earn.
And to your point about not knowing the games I enjoy: exactly. What games I want to buy is a bit of variety like everyone else. I'm not out here sucking ever title out of EA's cock. But I'm also not ignoring decent titles that they release. I take each game on a case by case basis, and only buy ones that don't fall apart when left to their own merits.

First your absolutely right in a way, the only difference is that Warframe is more focused on PVE not PVP, therefore, there really isn't any pay to win its just pay to progress faster. Pay to win is a circumstance that gives you an advantage over other players.

I don't buy Nike products because they rely on sweatshop labor.
I don't shop at Wal-Mart because they are the largest practitioner of wage-slavers among other abuses to their employees.

Except both of those examples are the industry standard, and neither inflame me morally. It's standard to close entire projects to focus on other ones. It is unfortunate, but not evil. And mainstream gaming 'journalism' and reviews have been nothing more than glorified advertisement space since practically the beginning of video games. I trust reviews by other players and independent groups (typically youtube let's-play channels) who I know from experience have similar tastes as I do.
I can buy more expensive fruits because they aren't imported from slave countries, and I can avoid buying an iPhone because other phone manufacturers don't have factories with nets around them to prevent suicide attempts. But I can't go to the AAA video game publisher that never bought a fake review or shut down a project and laid off the workers... Unless I play only indie games, which is becoming more and more viable as the programming culture grows - so who knows.

Pre-order bonuses are there so that they can sell you the game BEFORE you can know if the game will be good or not. Reviews and word of mouth can't guide your decision when you commit your money beforehand.
A pre-order bonus, is most of the time the publisher saying "Come on, make an uninformed decision, you'll get this shiny bell and a whistle if you do!"
Your risk of getting burned when pre-ordering is actually a pretty poor value-proposition when weighed up against a few extra costumes, or that gun you won't have otherwise. Lets say you get burned and buy a stinker 5% I think that's a VERY conservative number, but whatever more often when you pre-order. That means that the 20 pieces of digital knick-knack you have have to weigh up the disapointment, anger, shame, possible broken furniture, and the ~60$ you spent. That's a horrible value proposition, if you ask me.
You also lose out long-term, when publishers keep being proven right that great marketing is just as, if not more important than making a great game.

also: It feels really good to be all high and mighty when you claim the moral high-ground, and don't buy a game, because it has ****** business practices.

Which is why I only preorder a game if:
1) It is a sequel to a game whose story I want to see the rest of (Dragon Age).
2) It is a sequel to a game that was done marvelously so I have every reason to believe it will also be enjoyable (South Park).
3) It had an open beta so I was able to prove that I would enjoy enough of the game to be worth buying regardless. (Battlefront 2).
Sometimes I get burned with a ****** game like Dragon Age 2. But ultimately it's so far and few between that it's really not an issue.

Your south-park argument is really good. It's done by a completely different studio. Obsidian did the first one, and has a long history of making quality RPGs, while Ubisoft San Fransisco isn't on anybody's radar. Sounds like a risky pre-order to me.

Then I'll learn the hard way.
Sometimes it ends well though. Since you mentioned Obsidian - I preordered New Vegas because of how much I enjoyed Fallout 3. Despite New Vegas being made by a totally different and much smaller group.

This is the problem. Everyone hates EA. They are almost universally reviled. They are one of the most hated companies in America. And yet, people still keep giving them money. And as long as they do, EA will continue.

They were voted "worst company" at one point. so I don't think its just the internet.

That and their business practices are pretty damn terrible.
but then again any company now that makes AAA games are pretty ****.

and who voted for them? how many people knew about the poll? did the people who are making madden a top 5 game every year vote for it? you can go online and vote for anyone for anything. i can go online and give schindlers list a 0 even though ive never seen it. the term vote with your wallet comes up and so many more people vote that they want what EA is making

No one forced any of those devs to sell themselves over to EA. All EA does is lack creativity; the devs killed themselves. The industry is driven by innovation, not by five million Madden games. Gaming isn't going to die because of them.

EA pushes the devs to use their DLC tactics. Just like how when activision published Destiny they basically forced Bungee to break the game into segments that were meant for the the original game so they could make more money.

Capcom and Ubisoft for the companies that were known for having DLC on the disk, not EA.

Honestly, when people hate on EA or call them the "worst video game company in the world" it shows a complete lack of understanding about what's actually going on in the video game industry. At this point it's just a meme. If you want to hate on a publisher that actually deserves it, focus on Activision. They've killed off just as many studios and their business practices are shady as ****.

I still have some nostalgia for Mutant League Hockey. Yes, EA has become an amorphous mass that absorbs good teams and strips their games of anything risky in favor or creating nice safe bankable series. But like I said, accepting that big check from EA is a choice the developer makes. What people really should be concerned with is the cutthroat money lust that seems to drive the industry these days. Sixty dollars isn't enough, DLC isn't enough. Now we've got all that, a season pass, AND microtransactions in Shadow of War, and people are gobbling that **** right up with hardly a word. If this keeps up, the notion of building a powerful character with determination rather than one's wallet will be vaguely remembered as the quaint good old days.

Aaand that is why I'm looking forward to the Diablo 2 remaster.

It hasn't been officially announced yet, BUT Diablo 2 and Starcraft ran on the same engine, and before the Starcraft remaster was announced, there were job postings on Blizzard's website that alluded to working on classic Blizzard games. I'm 99.9% sure that it's going to happen.

doubtfull. even the games that have them havent gone full mobile gaming on them. ive talked to lots of people that love shadow of war and havent touched the loot boxes because they exist but they arent mandatory.

yeah i dont think its going to be something that stick around for too long. EA had micro transactions in dead space three and they havent been seen since outside of maybe some multiplayer games where thats the only way to get stuff but you can earn the currency for free

I'm pretty sure the last EA game I "bought" was a humble bundle where I set the slider to 100% charity and that was years ago.

I think Mass Effect 2 was the last game I gave them money for.
