I play all types of games and have been a gamer for my whole life. I started with Mario games and car games.

The problem nowadays people look for graphics and the best story line ever. What happened to back in the day where you could just play the game.
I do love some story mixed with killing people, but that's not always the case.

Almost every game i play now (not counting computer games), I kill people, zombies, monsters or whatever the **** it is. My favorite one would be sandbox games, where you do quests or missions. I find that to be the most fun thing to do because it gives you space to move around. The story line could be about evil teddy bears but as long as i can kill other teddy bears, i'm ok with it.

If you don't like it, you must be retarded or from Canada or something...

How you should games
"I enjoyed this game"
"I didn't enjoy the game but that is your opinion"
You shouldn't let what other people think about the game effect your judgement on it, I've played games which most people Adore but I can't stand (Borderlands) and games a lot of people complain about but I enjoyed (Call of Duty black ops, and no I am not a fan boy I just thought the story was interesting, even if it did have less comprehension of time than Batman TDKR)
The point is if you enjoy a game play it, don't let a review of 3/10 from a man who uses big words stop you.

Regardless of how (factually, not by opinions, but by comparison to what other companies and the company that makes it are doing with other games) bad Call of Duty is, what with framerates, bad hit detection, yadda yadda, the storyline is SO worth playing. World at War is one of the best campaigns I've ever played, it's actually deep and captures WWII very well...

But then you have the idiots who didn't play past the first level, only ever play online, and claim that the campaign is absolute **** and that multiplayer is amazing.

My only real complaint about CoD lately is that it's supposed to be a super-realistic shooter, but in all actually, Halo could actually take that prize. We don't know what our technology will be like hundreds of years from now, so "health regen" and other factors are entirely plausible. Though, by that logic, Borderlands is probably the most realistic since it's not even our universe (I think).

That is why I prefer the 5 point scale. There's no room for this ******** .

Should be seen as how much the reviewer enjoyed it. He could hate a game but you could love it.
Happened many times over the years.
User avatar #268 - Theyneverknow (04/12/2013) [-]
That's not how 1-10 reviews should be read moron
If it is 1 to 10, then 6 is ABOVE AVERAGE, not "Not bad"
1 - Too Human level of bad.
5 - A decent, average game. Not great, not bad.
10 - Hypothetical perfect game that puts games like Half Life to shame
User avatar #274 to #268 - Sanguinarian (04/12/2013) [-]
I thoroughly enjoyed Too Human, especially since I waited until it was about 5 bucks, but it has interesting gameplay and a different (but not bad) combat system with use of the thumbstick. While I would prefer for it to have been a more normal configuration, it certainly didn't ruin my experience. As for story, I was so glad to see a game based on Norse mythology NOT related to Marvel, especially since it includes my favorite god from the mythology as the main character. While the story deviates quite a bit from myth it was still interesting and, in a way, original. There was a small number of weapons and guns, which sucked but when I reached level 15, I used the same weapons until I got to level 22, armor is interesting and changes depending on your characters "class" and if you get pieces that are different colors from different sets, you can buy very cheap coloring for your armor to make it match.

Summary: Combat weird but innovative and easy when you get used to it, weapons are limited but powerful so you don't need much variety, story is well done with a few kinks.

Final score: 6.5 or 7/10 With a Badass Seal of Approval (to steal from Angry Joe)

Zero Punctuation review, while a teensy bit harsh, sums up most people opinions on the game. It had potential but it had so many flaws I'm not sure anyone ever playtested it

I just felt they were trying too hard to deviate and separate themselves from other hack and slashes that they isolated themselves from a lot of the gamer population.

There are some videogames in this world that cannot be described by any game review.

Try watching Zero Punctuation or The Angry Joe show. They are the rare, almost extinct, type of reviewers (well Yahtzee from ZP is more of a critic) that DO NOT kiss up to games OR completely destroy them, unless the games are really that good or that bad!
#304 to #264 - anonymous (04/15/2013) [-]
Zero Punctuation is the most biased "show" I've ever seen. He says he hates jRPG's and fighters. He "plays" the games (as far as he tells us, he dicks around in multiplayer for an hour or refuses to read anything then complains that he wasn't told where to go) then, surprise, surprise, gives them ****** reviews (admittedly funny ones that DO touch on a few good points) without mentioning many or any of the good points.
User avatar #306 to #304 - thecakeisaliereal (04/16/2013) [-]

of course he does, but not all completely! He liked pain killer and Portal(he didn't like the fanbase) and he also kindof liked DmC: Devil may Cry

You should only consider playing a game if it's a 9 or 10
#248 - tyraxio (04/12/2013) [-]
If something gets 10 or 9 I'm pretty sure it is meant to mean more than "Maybe consider playing this game."
User avatar #239 - umaya (04/12/2013) [-]
Red Orchestra 2 is a great game if you like fps simulator type games but it is also quite buggy and not great at 1080p, you can ignore the bugs which can sometimes be quite annoying and just enjoy the game, I would rate it as an 8 but with today's system it would get maybe a 5 and other games like cod would be hyped up to steal all the attention, there are a few places that do rate the games well but a lot just get paid to hype, or don't look at the actual gameplay.

Also if anyone wants a RO2 2-3 day pass on steam just ask, I have 3.

unfortunately its true with alot of game companies this day in age... remember when games were just so good they didnt need to pay for a good review? like power stone, megaman legends, crash bandicoot, and countless others? it just shows how much little work they wanna do for alot of money.... its just lazy of them and they are ripping off their fans... i wanna create a game company that gives you bang for your buck for instance one of the policys for the company i want to make is " if the dlc has less than 10 maps its free " because then i will always be setting a goal with every game... i want to **** pack my games with content but not too much just so the player doesnt feel like he got ripped off when he bought the game brand new "cough" gow judgement "cough" crapcom "cough"
