I ******* love TAS runs of Super Mario 64. One guy backjumped near the edge of the door where Whomp's Fortress was and he phased through the wall INTO THE ENTRANCE OF THE FIRST BOWSER FIGHT!

He beat the whole game in 5 minutes. I died.

mfw "The vault dweller from Fallout 3"

Fallout 3 is the Lone Wanderer, the Vault Dweller is from Fallout.

And this is a comp of video game knowledge.

User avatar #39 to #37 - optimussum (07/31/2013) [-]
Hedgehogs are lizards too. They shouldn't bound by labels such as "mammal" and "fur"
#49 to #39 - anon (07/31/2013) [-]
They still give a birth to cubs instead of eggs, you eggtwits.

Grass types are based of prehistoric animals. Chespin is based off the first known mammal to ever exist.

The little sisters helped make those games my favourites.
User avatar #91 to #59 - mothertrollbegood (07/31/2013) [-]
There was so many other things that would have changed Bioshock fully, there is an artbook with heaps of different Big Daddy early concepts same with Little Sisters. Heres the link: You need to login to view this link

...thank you. So much
#94 to #93 - mothertrollbegood (07/31/2013) [-]
I think what they did with the current Bioshock was great. I feel that they attempted to define Rapture as a place not for random horrifying creatures that would still fill my mind with horror, but instead made it like a place that was once beautiful, but slowly become a place full of Psychos.

I love the current one but really I think I'd enjoy anything created by Ken Levine
#65 to #59 - justakewldewd (07/31/2013) [-]
I don't know about that.
Imagine this.

You've gone through the entire game harvesting these horrifying rat creatures, ignoring the advice of the obviously insane creatures' 'mother' who begs you to save them. You gone through the entire game, gleefully fighting the Big Daddies and harvesting the Little Sisters in order to gain power.

To increase the player's temptation to simply harvest the Little Sisters this version would have them also fight along side the Big Daddy to pester the player with status effects like blindness or slowness while standing on the Big Daddy's back, being stunned if shot by the player if shot.

You beat the game.

Just for shiggles you decide to play it again, this time you save the Little Sisters. The first Little Sister squeals, a horrifying sound that tempts you to snap it's neck just to save you the annoyance. Deploying the antidote, both you and the Little Sister become engulfed in a mist. When the smoke clears you see what sleeps behind those black eyes, the innocence that has been corrupted by the greed of hubris of it's creators. You see a little girl, able to truly live after months of being trapped in a body turned horrifying by science.

And you weep.

But Charizard isn't dragon-type...
#106 to #86 - anon (07/31/2013) [-]
well in the games, it cant have fire/ flying/dragon.. its more logical to have it as fire/flying to prevent ground moves from hitting it. maybe if dragon types acted like flying, that would be great.

also, why the **** is gyarados a flying type?
User avatar #21 - psykobear (07/30/2013) [-]
Except Charmander is a salamander: Charmander --> Salamander. Charmeleon --> Chameleon. Charizard --> Lizard
Cyndaquil is a porcupine, hence the "quills"
Fennekin is a fox, as in a Fennec fox
#25 to #21 - anon (07/30/2013) [-]
I think we can all agree that Charizard is based on a dragon.
Cyndaquil is known as the "fire mouse" Pokemon.
Foxes are very close relatives to dogs.
User avatar #27 to #25 - psykobear (07/30/2013) [-]
Ok, Charizard may be based on a dragon, but the name is based on lizard. He is not mentioned anyways in the post, and Charmander is obviously based on a Salamander.

Cyndaquil may be called the fire mouse, but why the quills?

And foxes may be closely related to dogs, but humans are closely related to monkeys. Is that to say that Chimchar is based upon humans?
User avatar #38 to #27 - Furubatsu (07/31/2013) [-]
Was gonna hit back with "Well in the original Japanese it's..." but no, Carizard in Japanese is Lazardon.

Taken in Brawl- that makes more sense. lol
User avatar #9 - tokitoki (07/30/2013) [-]
I always figured fire starter pokemon were more based off of mythological creatures.
Charizard - dragon
Cyndaquil - echidna
Blaziken - phoenix
Emboar and Infernape are most likely based on Zhu Bajie and Sun Wukong from the Chinese tale "Journey to the West".

All of this is on bulbapedia. (Plus more on Typhlosion)

I think calling Fennekin a dog just because it's based on a fennec fox is kind of a stretch.
#12 to #9 - anon (07/30/2013) [-]
But aren't echidna's just normal everyday animals? (unless there's some mythical background or legacy attached to them I don't know about)
#13 to #9 - anon (07/30/2013) [-]
O sorry, no looking it up echidna's aren in fact greek myths but Cyndaquil is clearly based off the real life echidna (because the myth echidna is half woman half viper?)
#115 - datgermanguy (07/31/2013) [-]
Isn't Cyndaquil based off a hedgehog?
User avatar #129 to #115 - Redfinale (07/31/2013) [-]
and I believe Finnikan (however the **** it's spelled) based more off a fox?
User avatar #158 to #129 - scootalooisyourgod (07/31/2013) [-]
Fennekin is based off of the Fennec fox. Although they may not be exactly what the Chinese Zodiac animals are, they're still close enough. Arnold the Fennec Fox Exploring his Environment
#44 - dolphinwing (07/31/2013) [-]
Umm... Fennekin is based on the Fennec fox, not a dog. And that would mean they planned to make 12 generations of pokemon ever since the second one
User avatar #56 to #44 - Ryukenblaze (07/31/2013) [-]
foxes are canines, dogs are also canines

also, not necessarily planned, it is quite easy to create a pattern after the fact.
