I just imagined this becoming a thing. Princess Toadstool marries someone who's from her own people, Mario and Luigi break off connections with the mushroom kingdom; becoming hermits. Some time passes, around 30 years. A new threat rises to take over the mushroom Kingdom. Blue Toad is unable to defeat the new enemy, and Mario and Luigi either don't know, or are too bittered by there exile to help. Two new heroes emerge (Wearing blue and orange themed outfits).

No. After 30 years a new threat would arise, but this one much more dangerous than Bowser. Blue and many others fell to him. They thought it was surely the end of the Mushroom Kingdom. But knowing that an even greater threat would arise he trained. Even though he had been exiled Mario returned. Not because he wanted the glory, but because he was the hero The Mushroom Kingdom deserved.
