PC Feels..... . siris Hall; A Ile, allege!. I think someone should just go ahead and make a whole weekly comic of the Life Of PC-tan with his different relationships with all the consoles.

Cool. I might not be online that much after Wednesday so you're gonna have to approach internetexplain.
If you can, why not draw us something. Can be anything.

Aight, I'll give him a shout. I don't have anything to draw with at the moment, but here's something I did a while back that I dragged off my facebook

this looks pretty good and I think having a 2nd artist would be quite adventageous
if we can some how manage to put your and ecalycptus's styles together , the same way rejakted and I try to put a story together with our different styles.
Like , one draws the bodies , the other the clothing or facial expressions , stuff like that , that really depends who is better at what.
User avatar #227 to #213 - samthediv (07/12/2014) [-]
Sounds good to me. If we stick to a fairly basic style it should work out quite well.

I support this.
And I would do it If I could draw for **** .
User avatar #10 to #2 - rejakted (07/11/2014) [-]
Same here. I've got a great story made up in my head. I'll just need to do some more research about the early consoles so that I can put in appropriate characterization. For example; I've got the Virtual Boy thought up as a blind, old dude who works kinda like the 'Jesus is coming' hobos, etc.
I'd get my friend to draw but we're already working on a comic so no go. :/
#26 to #10 - anon (07/11/2014) [-]
I hate it when that happens, you have an awesome story in your head but you can't find anyone that can draw for you cause you suck at drawing, they should invent something that can take an image from your mind and directly put it into paper. Lots and new books and comics would be made like that.
User avatar #118 to #26 - ugottanked (07/12/2014) [-]
I know exactly what you mean, that would be perfect
User avatar #28 to #26 - rejakted (07/11/2014) [-]
Hehe. DeviantArt had come up with something like that - a device worn on the head which read your thoughts and controlled your hand to draw what you were thinking. Great idea but, it was an April Fool joke.
User avatar #20 to #10 - internetexplain (07/11/2014) [-]
Also the first video game was a Missile simulator made in 1947 playable on a Cathode ray tube.
That **** was a radar device , re-"programmed" to be the first ever console.
User avatar #19 to #10 - internetexplain (07/11/2014) [-]
we could work on the story together if we find somebody who can draw properly.
I'm a great story writer , just lazy on the writing part.

I read the rest of the thread already , the first PC (called Z1) was made 1937 in Germany by a man called Konrad Zuse.
Basically , it was a really really huge calculator , like the size of your average living room.
The 1945 Z5 on the other hand was just as weak but at least not as big , only the size of a dining table.
User avatar #27 to #19 - rejakted (07/11/2014) [-]
I'm pretty good with coming up with stories as well. Already working a bit on my own about a hikikomori (my mind can't come up with the proper English noun at the moment) who gets told he'll die in 2 years.

We could try. First of all, since we're gonna have to be going about PCs and Consoles, we're gonna have to start directly at the Z1 and the Magnavox Odyssey (which I think was the first console - I'll have to recheck) or maybe we could go straight for the IBM PC and introduce the old consoles as some sort of elder people.
But before we can approach, I think it's best we provide a small prologue of some kinda introducing the Nimrod Computer as the actual birth of a computer programmed to play a game intentionally. What do you think?
User avatar #29 to #27 - ecalycptus (07/11/2014) [-]
Yoyo, I can draw I you two want to team up

User avatar #34 to #33 - ecalycptus (07/11/2014) [-]
If you could give me a rough dwaft or a script I could draw it and give it to you
User avatar #35 to #34 - internetexplain (07/11/2014) [-]
K , but for that rejakted and I need to work something out first.
#45 to #35 - ecalycptus (07/11/2014) [-]
Ok, this is how I will be drawing PC-tan. Is that okay or do you have any objections?
User avatar #46 to #45 - internetexplain (07/11/2014) [-]
That looks awesome.
I'm perfectly okay with that , and I think rejakted will be too.

I personally would add an on/off button somewhere on his body though , no particular reason , no artistic purpose , just ***** and giggles and maybe to fit better with the consoles imo.
User avatar #47 to #46 - ecalycptus (07/11/2014) [-]
Cool that's great! The switch should be on the back of his head I think, or the neck. belly button maybe?
User avatar #48 to #47 - internetexplain (07/11/2014) [-]
Neck , back sound good , belly button sounds reasonable and would make more sense though if it wasn't a feels comic , I'd totally put it on his crotch.

Yeah sure
User avatar #117 to #61 - rejakted (07/12/2014) [-]
That's pretty good art. I like it. I'd like you to draw a male and female character with clothes and expressions (any). See how they are as well.
Normally, I'd say the button would be best on the chest - a la Iron Man but crotch sounds like a good idea as well. Experiment with it, I guess and see which one feels better overall.
#138 to #117 - ecalycptus (07/12/2014) [-]
So I did Atari and ZX spectrum. PC based should be males I think Dunno why I made ZX smoke. Maybe he's stressed about being replaced by PC-tan?

I tried crotch button and it's just horrible. Best to stick with chest button.
Tell me if you are happy with it.

It's the artist's preference. There's no rule to that. Maybe it's your rule, but it's not everyone's.

terrible recreation but I hope you get my point
User avatar #57 to #38 - corropted ONLINE (07/11/2014) [-]
to me it looks fcking scary as **** needs more detail to look good
User avatar #62 to #57 - alleksi ONLINE (07/11/2014) [-]
You either render everything properly, or you don't render anything properly. having everything just be line drawing and then suddenly THOUSAND HOURS IN PAINT eyes out of nowhere looks silly
#70 to #62 - anon (07/11/2014) [-]
I think the words that you're looking for is "keep the drawing style consistent". It's really the gradients in the eyes I bet you're talking about, but your drawing style isn't consistent with the rest of the drawing either, it's too light/not beefy enough lines.

And yeah, the pic you put up after does say "consistent drawing style"
User avatar #71 to #70 - alleksi ONLINE (07/11/2014) [-]
Yeah what I drew is definitely not "correct".
The picture was in such a small resolution, that the brush strokes were very pixely, making it hard to do pretty much anything. I just tried to show what you could do if you wanted to add more detail and impact to an otherwise simple line drawing. Simple flat colors could have worked too but even those were nonexistent in the rest of the comic.

Not as much as being the fifth Sega console in four years or something.
#132 to #21 - anon (07/12/2014) [-]
Actually it was primarily a long series of bafflingly stupid marketing decisions on the part of Sega that killed the Dreamcase and basically ended their participation in the console market.

It started with all of the addons for the Genesis the Megadrive for those of you in Europe, Asia or South America intended to extend its shelf life while they tried to one-up the SNES, which was superior to the Genesis in all hardware specs with the exception of its processing speed and even that is debatable, as some of the later SNES titles have demonstrated . This eventually resulted in the Sega Saturn, but it was poorly marketed and it wasn't enough of an improvement for consumers to purchase it. They finally made one last attempt with the Dreamcast, which, like the Atari Jaguar and the 3DO, failed spectacularly in the face of competition like the Nintendo 64 and the dominant console of that generation: the Playstation.
#133 to #132 - anon (07/12/2014) [-]
#182 to #21 - anon (07/12/2014) [-]
What actually killed the Dreamcast was trust. Sega pulled support on the mega CD and they pulled support on the Saturn, By the time the Dreamcast came along it was too late.

If Nintendo was going to do the same like the rumors suggested at E3 they would be walking down the same path right noe.
