space doesn't really have freezing temperature, hell regular ice and other liquids evaporate in space instead of freeze

i thought it did until iamkagji set me straight.
#139 to #33 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
the only part of the game the cold temp. hurts him is when his suit is broken and his face is exposed. ******* noob
User avatar #219 to #139 - cheesymondo (03/24/2013) [-]
i would understand that if it was both Isaac and John's faces were exposed but nothing's wrong with john's suit
User avatar #70 to #33 - thathorse (03/23/2013) [-]
Well Issac's & Carvers' suits were damaged so their heads were exposed to the cold, causing their core body temperature to drop. You know what they say we lose most of our body heat through our head.
User avatar #71 to #70 - cheesymondo (03/23/2013) [-]
when i thought "oh, maybe it's because of Isaac's head" i agreed with you, but carver's suit seems to remain intact.

maybe it's a small leakage in the suit but then why not just show his face and be done with it
User avatar #72 to #71 - thathorse (03/23/2013) [-]
Well even if it's a leakage you want to preserve the most body heat you can, why subject yourself to more cold?
User avatar #73 to #72 - cheesymondo (03/23/2013) [-]
true. it's just, why.
why would they do this. to a character who has explored space, a vacuum where a single crack could mean death.

okay i know i failed point when i see one.
if it's insulated it can eventually communicate negative temperatures
User avatar #74 to #73 - thathorse (03/23/2013) [-]
Drama and a sense of urgency I guess, stating it's no longer the Necromorphs that will kill you but the environment as well. That way it forces you to fight & run to a heat source as fast as possible.
User avatar #75 to #74 - cheesymondo (03/23/2013) [-]
this i like about dead space 3. when i heard about the frost planet i was disappointed.

now (thanks to sim city) i have seen that it too can bring a scare to the franchise
User avatar #76 to #75 - thathorse (03/23/2013) [-]
I liked that bit as well and it causes you to panic when you're at about 15C with Necromorphs in your way, no ammo, and no heat source. Made me a bit reminiscent of Dead Space 1, but his one was more action than scares.
User avatar #77 to #76 - cheesymondo (03/23/2013) [-]
yea'r definitely caused panic in me. as the 1st one did.

**** im below 20C, am i about to die? my biology teacher said our internal body temperature should be about 37C, am i about to crawl on the flaw and die?!?!?!

bro pc? xbox? ps3?
User avatar #78 to #77 - thathorse (03/23/2013) [-]
Yea although 37C is normal but I don't know how low it has to drop before causing death. I'm on PS3 by the way.
User avatar #79 to #78 - cheesymondo (03/23/2013) [-]
okay that's cool. i'm deciding if pc or xbox, don't own ps3. i wonder what the death rate/temperature is. report back with google results?
User avatar #80 to #79 - thathorse (03/23/2013) [-]
well the lowest recorded body temp anyone has recovered from was 13C so I guess anything below that

User avatar #54 to #52 - iamkagji ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
It cost's a lot more to make than that. It cost me about $250 for the materials I made the steel with, then about $40 of coal and 6 days of work.
User avatar #56 to #54 - cheesymondo (03/23/2013) [-]
maybe one day when i make it i will call upon you. but i am affraid it is not this day.
User avatar #58 to #56 - iamkagji ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
Yeah it's an expensive hobby. I can't do it very often because of the cost. I really don't like using pre-fabricated steel, so I won't settle for truck bed springs or other scrap from a junkyard. I refine it myself.

What's wrong with this one. In the game, the door is locked. Then suddenly the wall falls down. You can jump through it. And yes, the door is still locked. It would just be unlocked because of the wall falling down...

The Halo one doesn't make sense because the mjolnir mk 6 armor weighs 1000 pounds (one ton) i'd like to see you swim weight 1.3 tonnes. (Spartans weight and a g gestimate of around 300 pounds)
#160 to #25 - lunargreenhouse (03/23/2013) [-]
Actually, the MJOLNIR itself doesn't weighs 500kg.
The whole Spartan weighs that much.
And Spartans are tall ************* , packed with Muscles.
Well.
At least I think it is that way.
I can recall a line "A spartan in whole armor weighs about half a ton"
#194 to #25 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
A ton is 2000 pounds. They weight a half ton.
#201 to #25 - bausch (03/23/2013) [-]

A ton is 2000 pounds. . . other than that, you're right.
#57 to #25 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]

Yeah Sorry man, I live in England so we use the metric system, not the imperil system so i'm not the greatest at it.
#88 to #25 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
ya but the people who wear the armor can jump super high even while wearing it, sure maybe a normal person can't swim in 1000 lbs of armor but obviously the armor isn't very heavy to a spartan, so they should be able to
#198 to #88 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
The armor itself enhances jumping, etc. It enhances mobility force/speed, for like running, hitting, jumping, etc. Swimming involves form, if you thrash around really fast at 2000 pounds you'll probably still sink. You're just that dense. Normal humans can only swim because we are like 80% water or whatever, so we only need to keep afloat a part of us. Having 2000 pounds of metal makes your density like 15x what it should be, and therefore they can't swim
#84 to #25 - IamSofaKingdom (03/23/2013) [-]
If the suit can survive space and entrance through the atmosphere, then he can friggin walk along the bottom of a body of water.
User avatar #126 - ravertoby (03/23/2013) [-]
On the Master Chief one. You try to swim in a few ton suit of armor with an energy based shield that repels everything until it is overcharged and 'breaks' for a little bit.

It makes him the best anchor in the world.

Out of all of them it is the most logical.

Well, MJOLNIR is specifically designed to be used in any situation. If it couldn't handle getting wet it would be useless. In one of the books Red Team is completely submerged in water.
User avatar #61 to #60 - weinerdick (03/23/2013) [-]
If that's the case then the dev team probably just didn't feel like letting Chief do a moon jump
