Don't know if it's intentional, but the mom reminds me of Link (green vest, blond hair, white pants).

I know the feeling man. I was hardly ever home. I didn't have much there except some toys, so I always went to the neighbors houses and played their games.

>be born in 1994
>parents weren't the video game-playing kind
>no older siblings to impress the classics onto me
>first Nintendo console was a Gamecube
>wasn't really impressed with the Zelda series when I first played it either
>feel left out of the loop when it comes to games and Nintendo nostalgia

**** being born late with no older siblings.

If I knew you irl I would ask you to come play it on my refurbished nes.
But this is the next best thing.
Once you were finished I'd let you try out Link to the Past (my second absolute favorite LoZ game), and then OoT and MM on my N64.

I'd be your older brother, and there would be nothing you could do about it.
User avatar #70 to #55 - hauntzor (12/15/2012) [-]
Legend of Zelda was one of the first games I purchased on the Wii Shop when I bought my console. I think I can say I prefer the top-down style Zelda games. Link To The Past would be my favorite if I had to choose. It's a shame Nintendo strayed away from this style. I just found the third-person view adapted from OoT to be extremely tedious and a chore to play.

I love Link's Awakening. That was the first game I ever beat. I remember the first week or more of playing, I was too scared to leave the safety of the town, but I finally ventured out and it was a proud achievement when I completed it all on my own.

And by god I love it, also recently got me Pokemon Yellow again

I live in a kinda poor family so when i was about 4, the only thing we had was an old NES that me and my sister would play on, and Legend Of Zelda quickly became a favorite of mine. this was about 2003-4 ish
User avatar #75 - clunkybot (12/15/2012) [-]
My friend and I would always play starcraft on my N64.

Good times.
User avatar #78 to #75 - jcjohnson (12/15/2012) [-]
Never knew starcraft was for that till recently.
#80 to #78 - clunkybot (12/15/2012) [-]
Yep. Then we went on to play on the comp, play battlenet, play broodwar, then I just ended up not getting 2 for some reason.

I loved playing helms deep, cat vs mouse, phantom, zergling blood, and Resident evil in the custom games.

Also, bunker wars was the ****
#111 to #80 - ryuuji (12/15/2012) [-]
for me Temple Siege, Desert Strike, Phantom, DW/LOTR (specially Hu Lao Gate), Risk and Basketball/NFL Blitz maps were the most awesome.
User avatar #113 to #111 - clunkybot (12/15/2012) [-]
I loved the Dynasty warriors games.
User avatar #91 to #80 - salivarocker (12/15/2012) [-]
Oh god helms deep... Special forces Hell was better though :p secret units errywhere.
User avatar #102 to #91 - clunkybot (12/15/2012) [-]
Remember the pokemon games? So much fun.

Sniper wars, snowball wars, Town Wars..

The Phantom was by far my favorite game type, right next to helms deep. Minas Tirath was awesome too, just not as popular as helms deep

Star Craft was ported to the N64? Huh, never knew that, I knew that Diablo was ported to the PS1, but it used a ton of memory
User avatar #89 to #87 - clunkybot (12/15/2012) [-]
Indeed. You could get the expansion pack thing (?) for the N64, (That little red cartridge you stuck in there), and play Co-op.

Also, it was broodwar and original. Had both campaigns and units.

It was awesome.
User avatar #119 to #89 - ivoryhammer (12/15/2012) [-]
Was the music different? I don't know if the N64 could handle music that wasn't MIDI
User avatar #124 to #119 - clunkybot (12/15/2012) [-]
I'm actually pretty certain it was the same.

I remember the same industrial guitar for zerg, those spacey hums for protoss, and then I can kinda remember Terrans music. It was like a mix of strings and electronic. I remember it though, I just can't say
User avatar #125 to #124 - ivoryhammer (12/15/2012) [-]
Yeah Starcraft had amazing music, the same guy that composed the music for Diablo 1 and 2, and Torchlight 1 and 2

I never liked zelda. I had played a few minutes of some of the games and never got into it. I thought it was just the same thing each time. Go to the temples then beat gannon and save zelda.

Then i got a 3ds. And since there was **** all out for it i bought OoT since everyone always calls it the best thing ever. I ******* loved it. And then i went and played some of the rest of the series and loved that too. It amazes me how the same basic plot of save the princess can vary so much, being new while keeping you feeling right at home with a nostalgic feeling.

Oh yes, new monsters, new puzzles, new stories. Around every new turn is something new, yet it "got boring" for you. What games do you play if you do not mind my asking?

As a massive Zelda fan: That's ok friend :) Every one has their opinion, i've just always loved the games ever since I was about 6 years old. I played when my parents divorced, i played when my childhood dog passed away, and i still play today. (i'm in college now) It may sound pretty lame to a lot of people but in about a year i'm getting a tattoo of the triforce, just a small one, that game really was my childhood. :)
User avatar #121 - biggieboy (12/15/2012) [-]
Zelda games are probably the most overrated games ever
