You know, the Animus thing is actually a really interesting plot element (or device) that could be applied to a lot of people. GIVE ME MOAR ANIMUS STYLE PLOTS!

I am an ancestor to one of the men who assassinated franz ferdinand.

That would be kind of awesome if the guys that assassinated franz weren't completely retarded.

so you're related to someone who inadvertently caused a world war?
User avatar #24 to #23 - MegaAwesomeSauce (06/30/2012) [-]
I mean my ancestor is one of the men not the other way around

Even if you only go back to the 13th century the ammount of ancestors you have is greater than the ammount of people ever to have been on this earth. So if you are northern european you have almost a 100% chance you are related to charlemagne and other great mediveal characters. So pretty much everyone would make a good ezio.

I traced one line of my heritage back to Charlemagne, wanted to take a couple dozen back that far but I have things to do in the next twenty years.

I'm American, with one strand of my family only three centuries removed from England. Also, one of my ancestors was the first man to bring tobacco back to Europe from the Americas. Take that European lungs!

I'm just wondering why they used him, when if you go back to the year 1500 we are all related to everyone, at least once

Ezio wasnt his ancestor. It was project 16's ancestor. In the beginning for AC2, Desmond gets Ezio's files loaded in his brain, before leaving the facility (sorry, cant remember the name of the company)

Havent played AC3 yet, so don't know about that.

Ezio was Desmond's ancestor. He was just also Subject 16's ancestor.
User avatar #6 to #4 - SirSchmoopy (06/29/2012) [-]
Yeah. In AC: Revelations, Subject 16 explains to Desmond how they're distant cousins.

...Desmond isn't Connor's ancestor. Desmond won't be (or at least for the most part) in ACIII...
User avatar #29 to #28 - superracoon (06/30/2012) [-]
that would explain why he looks just like him
#32 to #29 - pjotor (06/30/2012) [-]

I had heard that Connor isn't going to be his ancestor.
Or did I hear wrong?
User avatar #17 to #16 - zonicoi (06/30/2012) [-]
I take back what I said.

The animus basically reads your DNA. It's impossible to relive the life of someone you're not related to.
#14 - buzzyboi (06/30/2012) [-]
i always tell everyone that i am related to ezio because my surname comes from northern italy and ac2 is set in northern italy. Amazes me how many people believe me lmao

in the end when he wakes up from the coma he looks normal,a little unshaved but normal..

Are you sure? I mean his nose looked a little flatter in the van than in previous installments. Plus Ezio, Shaun and Rebecca all looked different compared to Brotherhood in subtle yet noticeable ways (With Ezio especially, given that he killed Cesare in about 1507 so he looks too different in a 4 year gap)
