Have some mercy for those who haven't played the game yet. In my city pretty much every future shop, best buy, eb games goes out of stock within a day so many people haven't had the chance to play the game yet.

I'm glad I already got to see the ending and this didn't spoil it for me.
But damn dude. Please try to be more careful. That can ruin someone's whole gaming experience.

They better make a ******* sequel or alternate ending DLC where Joel sets **** right because the lie was the biggest let down of the century. I think it would be Joel trying take Ellie away but Ellie tells Joel to back off and that this is what she wants to do and knows is right. They have a nice little hug and then they prep her for surgery.

They'll definitely make a sequel. They have to now that Uncharted is done.

*Spoiler Alert I guess*

I think Joel did the right thing. If he let the Fireflies take Ellie's brain, there was only a chance at a vaccine (not a cure, by the way). Even if they did make the vaccine, how would they get it to the majority of the population? The Fireflies are a dying organization and they're enemies of the government, most people don't have access to anything like a radio/internet connection/phone, and we don't even know how much more anarchistic bandits are out there who will only mess with getting the vaccine out. The best bet for humanity is Tommy's self-sufficient community (and those like it) and to stop all the anarchistic looting. I'm not entirely sure about this last point, but couldn't Ellie pass on the genetic mutation to her children? Still, even if she couldn't it's probably best to not kill one of the only people who are immune to the infection.

He did it because he formed a daughter like relationship with Ellie. As you see near the end he starts calling her "baby" like he did with his own daughter. He went through so much with her, only for her to die at the end. I think it was good of him too, since she reminded him of his daughter.

good thinking anon, you got a point

But you know, not telling the truth at an end of a game just ***** your mind.. :/
#104 to #69 - ramssmar (06/30/2013) [-]
for me it wasnt the lie.. but that face when he told the lie is what killed me ._.
User avatar #152 to #104 - mojobringer (06/30/2013) [-]

She knew that he lied to her, she just knew it
User avatar #235 to #155 - lilRican (07/09/2013) [-]
ofcourse she knows he lied... but she also knows hes doing it to protect her...

plus some of the sound recordings in the hospital say that she wasnt the only immune one that was tested on... the rest have failed and she was most likely going to be the next failure
#158 to #155 - ramssmar (06/30/2013) [-]
yea, thats what killed me..but joels the only thing she has so she has to accept it anyway..i wanna know what happened afterwards so bad lol..a games never got me so attatched to the characters...
User avatar #161 to #158 - mojobringer (06/30/2013) [-]
I know, such games as these makes you so attached to characters, as you said, and you just wanna know more, its so sad that it never continued
User avatar #89 to #69 - pyrelord (06/30/2013) [-]
He actually didn't lie to her, you must've missed an audio tape or two.
#123 to #89 - anon (06/30/2013) [-]
He did lie to her, though. He said the Fireflies didn't need her, and implied that they let him walk out with her. If she had known that he killed them all, including Marlene - one of Ellie's best friends - she would have had a very different reaction.

While there were other people with varying degrees of immunity, Ellie was indeed the best chance at finding a vaccine, as her immunity was just about the strongest they've ever seen.

I haven't even played the game yet and somehow this still hasn't ruined it for me lol
User avatar #83 to #82 - mojobringer (06/30/2013) [-]
Yeah, it's really much to get involved with
But I don't suggest you to continue reading The Last of Us posts :C
User avatar #84 to #83 - SpicerHyx (06/30/2013) [-]
People find it weird but I actually like knowing the plot before going through it. Sure, I enjoy some twists, but I like seeing everything that leads up to big events and try to spot what other people might have missed
User avatar #85 to #84 - mojobringer (06/30/2013) [-]
Hm, alrighty then mate
User avatar #87 to #85 - SpicerHyx (06/30/2013) [-]
I also have to wait over 3-4 weeks to get a PS3 so that I CAN play it.
User avatar #90 to #87 - pyrelord (06/30/2013) [-]
Just keep in mind that at the very end, COLLECT ALL THE AUDIO TAPES SO U CAN HAPPY END
User avatar #102 to #90 - whiterice (06/30/2013) [-]
I'm so confused about the audio tapes because I guessed I missed some, can you please explain to me what happened in them?
User avatar #109 to #102 - pyrelord (06/30/2013) [-]
Well the only audio tapes that matter are the 3 in the last level. in the end Joel said some stuff to ellie, I don't wanna spoil for anyone, and alot of people missed the audio tapes so they think he lied, when in fact if they got all 3 audio tapes they know he told the truth.
User avatar #110 to #109 - whiterice (06/30/2013) [-]
can i add you and you PM me with a in a nutshell version? i borrowed the game from a friend and havent picked up my own copy yet so I cant replay it
#119 to #110 - ramssmar (06/30/2013) [-]
i guess they operated on others and they died with no cure, but i saw a tape also says "Marlene is right, I`ve NEVER seen something like this" so i guess youre just left to wonder
User avatar #117 to #110 - pyrelord (06/30/2013) [-]
Wait have you already played till the end?
User avatar #118 to #117 - whiterice (06/30/2013) [-]
yes I have I finished it the other day, one of my favorite games of all time I loved it and when I get a copy I'm gonna do a new game plus
#115 to #110 - ramssmar (06/30/2013) [-]
even the developers say he lied to though so i feel like people are misunderstanding the tapes...and the wiki says ellie is the only known person with the immunity..but idk i havnt heard them either :/
User avatar #78 to #69 - reikara (06/30/2013) [-]
He didn't though they're many like her the only difference is that she had the best immune system they have seen so far.
User avatar #81 to #78 - mojobringer (06/30/2013) [-]
Well, Joel said that the fireflies told Joel that he could take Ellie back, and that they didn't need her for surgery. As they didn't, Joel got in a berserking rage and raped everyone in that building and took Ellie back and killed Marlene
#73 to #69 - cough (06/30/2013) [-]
The game was still amazing tho, it kind of makes me look forward to being a father one day. Joel went from seeing Ellie as a burden to seeing her as a daughter. He is definitely in my top 10 badass list.

Yeah, the game was really awesome
And I also got that feeling that I was looking forward to being a father
---!!!SPOILERS BELOW!!!--- v

You know, I noticed that as soon as Joel got more in touch with Ellie he started to get more vicious against threats to her
Like at the end, he just killed everyone in a rampage
and man, he just killed Marlene cold
#164 to #77 - chudboy (06/30/2013) [-]
As she had no one, and he didn't either.
#163 to #77 - chudboy (06/30/2013) [-]
He definitely started seeing her as his own daughter at the end. He started calling her "baby" like he did with his own daughter near the end. I noticed it straight away when he called her baby. Gave me goosebumps as I just knew then he saw her as his own daughter.
