sir, I am an expert on this topic. Though I do have to say that there are similarities between these firearms....like the fact that they shoot bullets.

hey, as far as you know that one bullet could save your life..
#85 to #3 - kotos ONLINE (01/25/2013) [-]
The one on the far right is a bullet, the other two (such as fired from the saw above)

I dare you to fire your one bullet in that weapon and see what happens.

This sort of thing irks me, like calling every Pokemon pikachu.
#217 to #85 - kelluch (01/26/2013) [-]
trust me I know. those bullets would tear the hell out of anything. I was merely making a smart ass reply for the hell of it.
User avatar #151 to #85 - hateandwhiskey (01/25/2013) [-]
The one on the far right is a pistol slug. The other are cartridges.

The lead tips are the 'bullets'.

So technically, he's still correct.

Why would you ever only fire 1 bullet?

See someone > hold fire until they are dead and all that is around them is is ashes.

Don't see someone > Don't fire.
User avatar #40 to #10 - zelyx (01/25/2013) [-]
You see someone, they get in cover. why keep shooting?
User avatar #47 to #40 - eccleston (01/25/2013) [-]
Suppresive fire can be useful if your team has a minimum of coordination.
User avatar #49 to #47 - zelyx (01/25/2013) [-]
true dat
#214 to #40 - phynight (01/26/2013) [-]
"Until they are dead and all around them is in ashes" means shoot them through the wall, or hold fire while advancing, or just keep shooting because you can reloading after just 1 shot feels like a huge waste of time.

Let's add to that -
Belt feed and box feed. Because larger machine guns or mounted machine guns don't use clips nor magazines.

also the m249 is belt fed so that picture is still irrelevant
User avatar #51 to #44 - yofutofu (01/25/2013) [-]
Technically it's a box mag, belt fed implies someone feed it with a belt.
User avatar #211 to #51 - TJED ONLINE (01/26/2013) [-]
a box magazine is a normal magazine for example one used for an ar-15. this just happens to have a box holding a belt

User avatar #45 to #42 - CaptainWaffles (01/25/2013) [-]
Well in this case it would be a belt.
User avatar #52 to #45 - voltkills (01/25/2013) [-]
not that i actually know, but i read in the comments below that because the belt is being fed out of a box mag, its a magazine itself (I dont know, thats just what i read, youll have to scroll down and find it)
#107 - texasbarbie (01/25/2013) [-]
This is the M249 3rd rendeer from BF3.

4 Accesory rails
Capable of utilizing all mountable sights(HOLO,RDS,PK-A 3.4,PSO-1 x4,ACOG x4,PKA-S) laser sights,tactical lights,bipod and foregrip.
Firing at the speed of 800 rounds per minute,it is one of the most support-capable light machineguns providing firepower, speed and low weight.
User avatar #148 to #107 - xchewsifferx (01/25/2013) [-]
1. State that the gun is belt fed.
2. Proceed to say that it uses a 100 or 200 round magazine.
3.????
4. Wat?
User avatar #164 to #148 - improbablyyourdad (01/25/2013) [-]
The magazine holds the belt.
User avatar #225 to #164 - xchewsifferx (01/26/2013) [-]
No. In this case the box holds the belt.
User avatar #227 to #225 - improbablyyourdad (01/27/2013) [-]
Is it not considered a magazine? It holds the rounds and can be attached to the gun.
User avatar #228 to #227 - xchewsifferx (01/27/2013) [-]
No sir. The housing for the ammunition belt is classified as the ammunition box.

The gun is fed via 100 or 200 round belts, not magazines.

I'm not trying to be a dick, it's just you seem to actually know what you're talking about, whereas most people just regurgitate what Call of Duty has taught them. Using proper terminology will give you more credibility when you post something.

Source; A buddy i grew up with now serves in the U.S. Army as an infantry man, and we talk guns and tactics regularly.
