I wouldn't count Foo Fighters as legendary, same goes for Them Crooked Vultures.
They'e great bands and I love them, but of the bands he has played in I think Nirvana is probably the only band that can be considered legendary

yet.

Am I the only one who's hear of Scream? (his first band)
#188 to #184 - macjigiddy (07/30/2012) [-]
dave Grohls first band was Nirvana. He was the drummer. He had long straight hair back then too. Oh my god.
#208 to #188 - anon (07/30/2012) [-]
'After the third album Banging the Drum, Kent Stax left the band for personal reasons and was replaced by local drummer Dave Grohl, who then played on Scream's 4th album No More Censorship.'
**** you :)
User avatar #209 to #188 - gwankwo (07/30/2012) [-]
Nope, his first band was scream, which he joined in 1986. The band fell apart in 1990, which is also the year in which he joined Nirvana.

Foo Fighters aren't legendary..
User avatar #199 to #59 - sweetmike (07/30/2012) [-]
not yet, but after that last ******* album they are certainly on their way.
#73 to #59 - anon (07/30/2012) [-]
Neither is Nirvana.

Three albums, one of them weak, one of them a big hit, one of them a disappointing follow-up. And people call the band "legendary"?

Really, dying young seems to be the key to success. If Cobain had survived, nobody would talk about Nirvana anymore nowadays.
User avatar #94 to #73 - brxgtr (07/30/2012) [-]
And I suppose its the same with Queen, The Beatles/John Lennon, Jeff Buckley and Jimi Hendrix?

**** no... Great bands will be remembered for their great records, not dying early.

Also:
Hahahaha you think Bleach is weak..
And In Utero was awesome...
User avatar #156 to #73 - filozof (07/30/2012) [-]
Oh yeah, totally, nobody would talk about Nirvana anymore if they were stil here (intact) because they would not release any more songs after the third album. A lot of bands stay together for 18 years without releasing any songs.
