3D Projection in a 4D Space.. 3D projection of a tesseract undergoing a simple rotation in four dimensional space!.. 1. Repost. 2. It's a 4D projection in 2D space you twat. The tesseract is a 4d object and the gif is a 2d environment (width and height).

No... Actual space around you is 3D. Anything on a screen, a piece of paper is 2D.

2 dimensions : height, width
3 dimensions : height, width, depth

The hypercube is in 4D space but the projection is in 3D space.

so you say that just because I'm pointing out that this is seen here before? why not go to any comment section of any repost and call every individual a fag for also pointing it out.
GOOD DAY to you sir!

I am not a clever man. In layman's terms, can someone explain to me what the 4th dimension is? I thought it was the dimension of time.

Saw that one ages ago. Still don't fully understand what these animations has to do with it. I realise it's because everything has different forms in the fourth dimensions, but what is the exact geometry behind this? I checked the wikipedia page, but became even more confused.

I honestly don't understand it well myself.

If you were able to see yourself in the fourth dimention, you would see yourself in every single moment in time (Birth to death) all at once, so you would seem like a 'Snake-type' object.

no, you'd have to be able to see and comprehend all the matter that ever made a person up from the beginning of time to the loop back around to the beginning of time back around to the loop at the...well you understand. this is why we cannot comprehend a 4th dimension and never really will be able to.
User avatar #33 to #25 - jacencaedus (12/19/2012) [-]
it is time, like someone explained below, if you could actually see something in the 4th dimension, you would see it at every point in it's existance
