I use females with my stealthy characters such as in Fallout. I use a silent sniper. (Excluding Saint's Row. I made female characters in that for my serious playthroughs but they're fully clothed. I just really love the voice acting. The men all sound God awful retarded).
I use male characters with my badasses. Like in Mass Effect.

Why? Because I can. There's no real reason beyond that. Hitboxes are usually balanced so they are the same - I hate 3rd person so I always try to be 1st - I don't roleplay.

I usually play male, but I play female in Guild Wars 2 because the males are voiced by Nolan North. I've had enough Nolan North in my ******* lifetime, thanks.

Plus their animations are clunky and most of the armor is rather bland for males. Since I use medium armor, pretty much ALL of the sets are trench coats. At least female sets have a tiny bit of variety, even if they do suffer from the "exposed vitals" shenanigans.

To all the people saying "I'd rather not look at a guy's ass", that's like a tiny portion of the screen, and if it's getting your attention so easily, I would question your confidence in your sexuality.

You should stop playing that game because its so bad..even GW1 was better. :/

"Even"? GW1 was a masterpiece. I also love GW2, not quite as much, but I still love it. Opinions, opinions everywhere.

because i wanna look at a dude's ass all the time.

I don't think that you should deny the fact that you want to look at a dude's ass by making a female character.I mean come on, that's like 5% of the screen.(at most)

i keep my eyes on my character most of the time. i like to have something to look at.

I don't know, I just prefer to play as a female, although I mostly play as a guy..

I think it's funny how all these dudes play as girls because they don't wanna look at a guys ass. If a guys ass distracts you to the point where playing as a female is the only way you can enjoy the game. I have some bad news.

a guard may get nervous if a man approaches with his weapons on

I personally play girl characters in MMOs because I always think like this:
Okay, so I am going to spend hours upon hours of staring at a player model, it could as well be a good looking girl rather than a guy, amirite?
User avatar #44 to #28 - camdonwin (02/17/2013) [-]
or maybe because they just like that character. . .

Also, I dont think playing as a guy makes you gay, but I would rather stare at a girls ass than a guys if we're being honest.

I played a female shaman in WoW, because every male in this game looks like a ******* terminator. Where did they get such muscle mass, lifting bookshelves?
User avatar #41 to #40 - thedarkangel (02/17/2013) [-]
I agree, I hate the extreme muscle mass on the male models

Or you play WoW where most male races are bodybuilders, which doesn´t fit with being a mage/warlock/priest at all.
#225 to #39 - anon (02/17/2013) [-]
But then again all the female characters in WoW look stick skinny and even the warriors look like they never lifted despite being a ******* warrior.

Indeed and the females usually had better looking casting animation for their spells :)

If you ever get a chance try appreciate the boob jiggle in the female night elf casting animation. Its the small things Blizzard does for their customers because a challenging game is just too much

or you know, actually just like playing as a female character

Actually, in some games the female mechanism are better than males, but not all of course.

Creators tend to put more effort into the female character models.

There's one other reason I can think of, the female animations look (or suit) better. I've played a game where the male characters ran like they had a stick up their ass so I played a female.

Which game? I've played a lot of them but never one that sounded like that.
