Am i the only one who finds fighting dragons inconvenient? What you get isn't bad, im just saying if im in the middle of a quest and a dragon appears, its just annoying. Not difficult, just annoying.

Exactly this. If I hear a dragon roar and the loud music, I just let out a sigh and proceed to 2 or 3-shot it, "loot all" and continue as normal.

I would love a good game of the skyrim style based around assassination, or at least one that fleshes it out more so that it's less a strategy to murder anything in the game in one hit and more a challenging and varied experience.
User avatar #5 to #4 - karvarausku ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
+ you have to use daggers + have double dmg. to really kill some one while sneaking with one hit...

or else you are pretty much busted...
100 one handed
100 sneaking
12x dagger dmg (if I recall right the stacking) and still the guy turns over and screams...

But yeah... hitman + assassin creed + skyrim?

with hitman motives, assassin creed mobility and skyrim storyline.
User avatar #6 to #5 - RandomAnonGuy (02/04/2013) [-]
There's a one handed perk that gives you double damage with one handed weapons, another perk in sneak that gives fifteen times damage when you attack while sneaking and a set of gloves that gives another double damage when you sneak attack. That works out to x60 damage. I've killed ancient dragons in one hit, one handed, not a power attack.
User avatar #7 to #6 - karvarausku ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
oh yeah forgot that it stacks that much... But I have those all.
I used "Blade of Woe" and "Ebony dagger" somewhile, but it got bored to roll and roll and kill them with 1 hit sometimes... So now I just run around and hit them with my nightingale blade + children....

User avatar #8 to #7 - RandomAnonGuy (02/04/2013) [-]
I used full glass armour and daggers coz I liked the look, max smithing, fully improved. I always like sneaking in these games, it just feels so much more satisfying to me.
User avatar #10 to #8 - karvarausku ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
Well I liked the sneaking too for first, but I found it boring after doing that 50 hours or so when enemies couldn't fight back or anything...

Have to start another save and do full mage.
Focus on spells and enchantments.
User avatar #12 to #10 - RandomAnonGuy (02/04/2013) [-]
Mages are kinda fun, I recommend getting some mods for them if you're on pc though. They simplified it too much from Oblivion.
User avatar #13 to #12 - karvarausku ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
yeah... that what I thought... I liked how many spells I could get in oblivion...
They added shouts and decreased the amount of real magic... damn.
User avatar #135 to #3 - Fgner (02/06/2013) [-]
I use my bow the most, I think. My first character was a Kahjit assassain. I used daggers if the situation demanded or magic when I was caught (or wanted to murder everyone brutally). But the majority of the time my bow was out. I just found it was the most entertaining way to play since it requires at least some skill.
User avatar #136 to #135 - karvarausku ONLINE (02/06/2013) [-]
Pretty much... I don't know how you guys can 1 shot kill dragon while sneaking when I can't do that to ordinary marad bandits...

Sneak 100 archer 100... most of the perks gotten and they just won't die...

I kill dragon with 3-4 sword swings and it takes me to 20 arrows to kill those things...
User avatar #137 to #136 - Fgner (02/06/2013) [-]
You can't 1 shot a dragon with a bow, unfortunately. 20 sounds about right. But that kept the dragon fights at least moderately entertaining. Usually when I saw a dragon, I would strip down and fight with my bad bow. Give the poor little bitch a chance.
User avatar #138 to #137 - karvarausku ONLINE (02/06/2013) [-]
Well I don't want to give him chance... at least to the 50 lvl ones (not legendary the other onces... worse than ancient and blood dragons)

That bitch 1 hit K.O.'s me when I'm using my nightingale (epic) armors...
It's either he or me! (and oh.... I have almost all my upgrades on stamina so I can carry stuff and run around... so no wonder it 1 hit K.o.'s me)
User avatar #139 to #138 - Fgner (02/06/2013) [-]

So I used to be a Stormcloak supporter then I started to research and think about what I was doing.

I have decided to become an Imperial supporter now. I no longer support the Stormcloaks. The Reason? Its pretty legit and is true:

If you read the letter about Ulfirc in the Thalmor Embassy it talks about his past.
Ulfric was a Legate in the Imperial Army and Rikke was a Captain under him
During a Dominion Raid Ulfric was captured and questioned for a few days, the Legion thinking he was dead promoted Rikke to Legate to take control of his forces

Elenwen, the Thalmor Ambassador, is the one captured and tortured Ulfric.
Elenwen told Ulfric that thanks to the info they beat out of him, that the Imperial City had fallen. It wasnt true the City had fallen days before.

Elenwen then brainwashed Ulfric to go back to Skyrim and start an uprising to rid Skyrim of the Legion and make it a separate country so that when he is successful he will hand over Skyrim to the Dominion.
Thats why the Thalmor support the Stormcloaks in the letter.

If you fight for the Stormcloaks and Ulfric takes over, in the future, he goes into Thalmor Sleeper Agent Mode and hands over Skyrim to the Dominion

Ulfric is a Thalmor Sleeper Agent.

Fighting for the Stormcloaks is handing Skyrim to the Dominion.

It saddens me that Ulfric is fighting for the very thing he wants to destroy, and doesn't even know it.

Well... **** .
I remember reading in the dossier that they wanted to keep the war going, but I figured it was to keep the Imperial Power in check, as long as the Stormcloaks would maintain a fleeting, yet still damaging, force on the battlefield, they'd be guaranteed to take the Imperials for sure.

But **** . I just figured the Imperials and Stormcloaks had equal goals; they both dislike the Thalmor to one extent, but the Imperials were the only ones guaranteed to truly win the conflict.
...
It's almost like the Thalmor planned a 50/50 chance where the Dragonborn, the only real force that could disrupt the Thalmor terribly, could fall into their hands as a pawn.

**** .

There was also a theory
(funnyjunk.com/funny_pictures/4284282/The+Thruth+behind+the+Thalmor/) that the Thalmor wanted to take full control of Skyrim because of one of the last 'towers' from Elder Scrolls mythology that kept Elves mortal is supposedly somewhere in Skyrim...and they're using the Imperials to clear the Stormcloak menace and destroy the tower.

So, the Thalmor win either way.

I have some what of a feel story from Skrim.

Having Dawngaurd installed, I some times get a "Mysterious Traveler" (a hostile vampire) when I go into towns. So I fast traveled into Whiterun one day to use the forge when the Mysterious traveler attacks me. Of course, it being Whiterun, the guards rush so it's no big deal, but still, they aren't doing much damage and I figured I could take the guy out in one or two shots with my mod bow and arrows that had the same stats as dragon. So I draw my bow back, zoom in and slow down, and find my target, who had finally cleared the Whiterun guards. I release my arrow when out of ******* nowhere, Carlotta Valentia decides to be an hero and charges the vampire with an iron dagger. I even got a Killcam when I hit her. So I quickly finished off the vampire so I could explain myself to the now hostile guards. Being thane, I get away with it and go back to the forge to smith.
It had been a solid five minutes after the event, enough for me to forget about it, when out of nowhere I hear a little girl say "You're a monster! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!", confused, I put my cross-hair over the girl, to find out it was Carlotta's now orphaned daughter Mila. I felt so bad that I downloaded Hearthfire in the hopes that I could adopt her.

Last time I did the Dark Brotherhood, I decided that my character (who I already felt was a little twisted) was going to get proper revenge on Gaius Maro and the rest of the Penitus Occulatus after the betrayal/fake emperor sequence.
I started at Dragonsbridge (at night), silently and methodically executing first every guard, then every civilian in the town. Dagger only; didn't feel right to just take potshots from the edge of town. I killed every living thing from Dragonsbridge to the gates of Solitude, wiped out the farm on the way down to the docks (except the kids, though not for lack of trying), picked off every single guard silently before finally reaching Maro himself. Once on the Emperor's ship, I continued my silent rampage except for a lone sleeping crewman. I still enjoy imagining this poor bastard waking up amidst the carnage and trying to explain how it happened that he was the only living thing within miles.

Every time I visit my friends place I go on his Skyrim account when he's not around, he has very good sneak and one of the best daggers (I don't know the name i just know damage and all that) I would go to a town, and try to find a civilian relatively isolated from the eyes of other civilians or guards. I would quickly murder him and leave a little cheese wedge on his corps. I've been at this for months now and have done this to at least 2 or more civilians in almost every town. He still hasn't realized I was behind this and always wonders if there's a glitch or some **** in the game or what is going on. He still hasn't caught me on this yet. The cheese killer strikes tonight.

one way I've found to help with that is to disable every single mod you have, then go through them and enable only the ones you really want. then while you're re-enabling them, after every 5 or so mods, start up the game and quit at the title screen (if you enable a ton at once the game seems to overload and crash immediately) until you've got everything. Even if you keep all of them it seems to help make it more stable (also helps figure out which mods are bugging out).
User avatar #134 to #133 - pistro (02/05/2013) [-]
I'm afraid this doesn't work for me, i've tried yet to disable every single mod, but the problem still remained.

The way I found on the Internet is to:
>Find a game save old enough to don't have problems (i've just started a new game)
>save
>Kill myself with the console (player, kill)
>Load the bugged save
>kill myself again
>Try to save
And the problem is solved. But whenever I close the game and I open it again, the problem returns.
What the actual **** .
