Have you tried playing Morrowind? I started out thinking maybe I could fast travel...

I was so wrong... so horribly horribly wrong...

Morrowind has fast travel! You just have to be in a large city. And you gotta pay.

The silt striders don't count... That's just regular transportation.

When my brother first played Oblivion he accidentally crouched not long after leaving the prison/sewers.
He crept all the way to Kvatch before figuring out what happened.

MFW I didn't know about fast travelling in Fallout 3 until after I'd played the game for about 40 hours and had walked between Rivet City and Megaton a painful amount of times.

When I found out about it, I was actually more angry than I was relieved.

The ****? You can fast travel in that game? Shiet... I had gotten the fastest horse in the game so early and had mastered how to go full speed that it never really bothered me.

I didn't know bottle caps were currency so I dumped them all from my inventory. I was always overencumbered because I thought you had to trade other junk for equal value.

I don't usually fast travel in Bethesda games.

I prefer seeing the sights. They put a lot of time into making the landscape, why not explore it all multiple times?

As much as I love the environments and do explore when I can, running from one end of Skyrim to the other, even on horseback, is almost painfully slow.

Though.. I have been fast traveling less on Solstheim at least.. its smaller size makes it a little nicer to do.

One of my favorite experiences in Skyrim was walking all the way from Riften to Markarth to do some quests. Stopped in Whiterun to sell the random junk I had accumulated over that half hour or so from Riften, but other than that the only detours I took were caves and ruins and ****.

Seeing the landscape change from the golden-looking leaves around Riften to the beautiful plains of Whiterun and the great mountains of Markarth was a wonderful experience. If only reality's gameplay wasn't such ****, I'd go outside more often and see the best this world has to offer.

Well.. I'd prefer reality's gameplay over being constantly attacked by bears, wolves, sabre cats, dragons, bandits, Dark Brotherhood Assassins, Thalmor agents, and the occasional pyromancer and cryomancers duking it out just to suddenly turn on me.

Lol wat, the world has tons of amazing ****, it just costs money to go see it. You can't hop on a horse and ride 30 minutes to Mount Everest, or check out the ruins of ancient Greece.

Actually reality's gameplay ain't that bad. Just grab a bike and go explore your city and it's surroundings. I have mountains 10 km away from my house, and past them there is something like a desert, and past that is a river, it's a nice landscape, and i love riding my bike.

If you'd have played arena you would know how blissful walking everywhere can be in skyrim. It supposedly took up to 48 (real time hours) to get from one end of tamriel to the other.
