"Henwen from you I do beseech,
knowledge that lies beyond my reach.
Troubled thoughts beyond your heart,
pray you now, those thoughts impart."

MFW I can still see and hear it all

I honestly don't understand how people couldn't like this movie. Indeed it's a lot darker than most of what Disney makes, but it's not as if it's post-apocalyptic; it just shows that good triumphs over even the worst of evil. Also, the Horned King was an absolute badass

This was a good movie because it scared the **** out of me when I was a kid, but I still watched it alot. I always thought it was a dumb to trade the sword for the dog, because I thought the dog was an asshole (and the sword was ******* awesome), but otherwise the film would have been to dark.

people don't remember the black cauldron much. What a shame. I think the title wasn't hollywood enough or something.

I had a book when I was younger about the dark cauldron. I didn't know it was a movie

I reckon this would benefit from a live action re-make with little restriction on age rating.

i never got into this movie, mainly because i have a deep hatred for comic relief sidekicks, and as such that gray muppet thing annoyed the everliving **** out of me.

A fun fact you might want to note OP:
As you all know Disney has the reputation of constantly killing it's villains in gruesome manners, in most cases.
Some refer to Scar as having the most /terrifying death scene of any Disney film.
Those who would make such accusations are people who have not seen this movie.

The horned king has one of the longest death scenes and takes the award for most gruesome one in Disney film history.

It's a sequence that starts with the Horned king having his hands' skin peeled off, followed by thunder and fire coming from the cauldron striking his body. As his clothing and internal organs and most of his body are gone, the fire then begins to emit from inside his skull until finally what little bones remain explode into ashes.

So, how would you order them? Mine would be:
Horned King
Scar
Gaston
Frollo
Rourke
Clayton
Ursula
Mother Gothel
Maleficent
User avatar #59 to #58 - venegal (08/01/2014) [-]
Well it's a well-ordered list mine would be in accordance to how brutal/painful they seemed to me:
-Horned King
-Frollo
-Ursula
-Dr. Facilier
-Scar
-Clayton
-Rourke
-Mother Gothel
-Maleficent
-Gaston

Dr. Facilier was dragged to Hell, so his transition from the graveyard to Hell was scarier than what it was painful, but that dude out of all of these is the only one who is canonically suffering for eternity.

Rourke turned into a ******* lava man and got burned from the inside out by crystal energy, then was exploded by giant blades.

But yeah no being hung or getting stabbed by a boat was totally more painful.

I'd love to get into an argument with a cunt like you, but I'm too depressed to bother. Goodbye.

Okay cool. Not sure why you are so astronomically butthurt for no reason, but I guess I'll never know.

I never saw that movie. Is it good?
User avatar #61 to #60 - venegal (08/01/2014) [-]
It's ok, it follows the traditional princess' movie formula that Disney has often used. The villain song, like it's interpreter is really cool. The story has no real surprises and the political message is expected. The animation is superb and it has a few comedic segments that make the movie entertaining.

Overall, I'd say 7/10.
#62 to #61 - dontknowmeatall (08/01/2014) [-]
I might check it when it's on TV.
