Stop trying to justify your ******* show, just watch it, no one gives a rats ass

Trying to lecture people into not disliking your fanbase, like it's something really important, doesn't help.
User avatar #8 to #7 - djrainbowdash (10/02/2013) [-]
I don't care if people like the show and the fanbase or not.

Saying **** about how we're autistic, or weird fedora donning neckbeards and crap like that to generalize all of us annoys me.

Shut up, you autist.

For the irony mostly. This post was **** though, I wouldn't have felt this way in late 2011 or early 2012 but now, things have changed.

I hate to say it but over the span of 2-3 years I have changed more than I ever thought I would. This show helped I think.
I don't really know, I just know it has caused a lot of problems in my life. Being so infatuated with a show about pastel cartoon horses. It's weird looking back on it.
Season 1 and 2 were some of the best show I have seen, and I wasn't even in the fandom until summer break and by that point I already saw each episode twice. Then I found the other side of the fandom and it consumed me, made me a different person, the people I met changed me. Made me cynical, cruel, lacking emotions.
They also made me realise I wasn't the only one.
A lot of people say this show cured their depression, it just caused mine to very rapidly appear and set in deeply, making me quite unhappy. Now I have nothing better to do with my time but browse the internet and play games, because in video games I can pretend I'm somewhere else, somebody else.

At least I'm happy when I sleep.

Not sure why I dumped all of that here, i guess I was admitting it more to myself than you.
#51 to #49 - djrainbowdash (10/03/2013) [-]
Sorry the show caused that for you.

For me, really it just happened to be a cool show which acted almost as my solace away from reality and the outside world.

This post isn't more about the fandom as a whole that I like, but it was more connected to who I actually am. All of this is who I am, and this whole kindness thing is something I've always taken to heart. I've always been a really nice guy to everybody I meet, I don't believe in ever being mean, closed minded, or just ignorant to people. I'm easy to talk to and friendly.

Hopefully you find something that lifts you out of your depression buddy.
User avatar #52 to #51 - catguy (10/03/2013) [-]
I've always been a dick, I guess it;s just easier. If you've ever been an ass for extended periods of time you learn it is just an easier life style, to not give a **** about other people.
It's not really a choice though, some people can't help from caring, and others can't help but to not care.
Maybe someday if I stop being what everybody says is just "edgy teen"
User avatar #53 to #52 - djrainbowdash (10/03/2013) [-]
Yeah I can see what you mean. To go about the world and not give a **** , sometimes it is pretty sweet. What I taught myself growing up goes against that, even if I don't necessarily think people who are like that are bad people.

People mature though, so just give yourself time. I'm 20 myself, but outside in public, how I act and talk to people, I seem more like I'm 35 really. Its just how I am.

So with time, maybe you'll change without realizing it at first. I used to have no self confidence really, now I don't really care as much what people think of me.

No.
firstly, im sick of hearing the same old "the show is great because its smartly written, funny, fantastically animated, strongly voiced and character driven"
No.
The animation is below par, its computer drawn in adobe flash. if you want fantastic animation, watch looney toons, most anime or adventure time.
Character driven? ugh, watch breaking bad, game of thrones or even ******* desperate housewives.
smartly written? pahaha its written like most other cartoons marketed at kids, its nothing special.
I admit, the show has great voice acting, but what else is to be expected of tara strong?

secondly.
every single brone ive met has been extremely neckbearded, autistic or fedorasporting. most bronies arent normal people, and their conversation is not at all diverse. this is in my first hand experience.

thirdly, you do not have lives outside the show. You go on internet forums about the show, look at funny memes of the show, listen to ****** edm made using the show, you live for the show. users: phanact, twi, playcolt, nekoyas, eponine, and many more phaggots who have no lives.

Bronies have done something i never though they would, which is to be more cancerous than sonicfags.
most of You live your lives through a pony persona.

I could care less about the freak-shows of bronies you've met. I'm fully aware that there's some wierdos out there that share the title "brony". Before I joined, I never made fun of any of them even knowing some of my friends watched and contributed in a community that enjoys My LIttle Pony. I know the concept is weird in itself. That's a given. Personally, I don't run up to any non-bronies, prance around, spewing comments about how good the show is or what the community has to offer. I'm glad that there's a fair share of stuff to look into that I enjoy, but I've never presented it to everyone that could care less such as yourself. The primary reason I stayed was because I've always been friendly, open-minded, and social to everyone I meet. When I found out the fandom is chock-full of that, I stuck around, and I haven't regretted it once. Again, I'm not telling you or anyone to join us or to give it a try or even to give a **** . I just wanted to explain to you that... well, first of all, no one gives a **** about hate comments about a fandom on a post in the fandom. But most of all, give things a longer look before you start spreading as much **** as possible. kthnxbai

And? I don't do any of that. I like certain sections of the fandom that I stay connected with and turn my head when the other sections are brought up. Some of it's just not my thing and some of it is... well, you know. But either way, I'm just not the one to start **** about something I don't care about. If you've left the fandom, that's fine by me. That's your decision. But I don't think it's right to **** on a fandom you're not in, especially if it's somewhere you used to be.

That's very true. And actually makes sense. And is relevant and appropriate the conversation. I guess you're not like the common hater after all. Which also makes sense, since you were technically a part of the fandom.

And i was a part of the fandom when i needed the fandom i guess, right after my friend died of a drug overdose at a house party i was ay aged 15.

I could probably answer no to every stereotype you listed there.

I'm not a neckbeard, or autistic, I would never wear a fedora, I love talking about sports, music, and just life in general. I love the show and the fandom yes, but I also live for music and consider that to be the main part of my life. I write in my free time, and don't even have a pony persona really, unless you count my FIMfiction account or here. Unless I told you, there wouldn't be really a way to figure out I watched it.

To be honest, I don't even know why I bothered responding as you seem to be so entrenched on your opinion being fact that there just isn't a point in trying to convince you otherwise.

Generalizing everything by looking at a small portion of something just seems closed minded. If you want to live like that, fine then. I'll respect your opinion if that's how you choose to be.

point 6 is the problem. why tolerate if something is wrong? not it's-not-my-opinion-wrong, but rationaly derivated wrong. additionally, thats just a really stupid shield, bronys like to hide behind, because they think thats something nobody would think bad of.
User avatar #63 to #61 - djrainbowdash (10/03/2013) [-]
Well obviously its isn't generalized to everyone and everything.

Am I going to tolerate a murderer or a rapist? Of course not.

This basically means instead of getting into shouting matches and massive arguments with those who trash us and the fandom, we just try to talk it out in a more well mannered approached that doesn't involve calling them gay or a faggot, or any of those idiotic excuses for insults.
