So much butthurt in this thread.

This guy literally said 2 words and he gets a massive spank on the ass.

And he is right, pretty much every other fandom keeps to themselves except for the MLP fandom, simply because it is so widespread.

And yes, it is an accurate analysis to compare MLP, or any other show's fandom, to cancer.
User avatar #47 to #40 - dtox (12/31/2012) [-]
I am so ******* sick of how people use the word "cancer"

They use it for everything, despite **** being the same exact way they have been for decades. It's effectively turned into a word for "I don't like this and I'm gonna act all pissy because it's popular," they sound like god damned hipsters.
User avatar #65 to #47 - obtuse (12/31/2012) [-]
The only times I personally ever use the word cancer is to describe bronies or the actual condition.

Unfortunately I have to use it more than I'd like to.

Cancer is actually the foundation of living forever, never growing old, just rapid stages of growth in the human body is fatal. If cancer was studied more on how to convert it instead of cure it, cancer would make one live forever.

And you are busy talking **** about what you have not a single clue.

1/10 I replied.
User avatar #41 to #33 - obtuse (12/30/2012) [-]
Cancer is a biochemical deformation in the reproduction of cells, during which cells reproduce at a very fast rate and do not contain any beneficial organelles or proteins that the body can use to survive.

Therefore, these cells end up making the amount of resources provided to working cells less and less as the cancerous growth continues to expand. The human dies when the amount of resources to each cell is very little, when the output of proteins and enzymes is not enough to sustain the mass of the body, and when the body is unable to survive due to many other factors indirectly caused by the tumor.

You can now conclude that cancer cannot be curbed through your method unless you can alter the makeup of every particular cell that is malignant.

Not only is his description accurate, but yours is a geyser of nonsensical ******** that also criticizes his logic behind a ruse of knowing what YOU are talking about.
User avatar #89 to #41 - anonchief (12/31/2012) [-]
How long did it take you to google that?

Also, cancer is caused by a deformity in the chromosomes of the cells. There are little bits on the ends of chromosomes to keep them together and from, you know, mutating or some **** . Every time the cell replicates, the ends of the chromosomes get smaller until they dissapear and the cell kills itself to keep from mutating. Cancer cells produce this enzyme that keeps the ends of the chromosomes alive and growing, instead of dieing. This makes the cell pretty much immortal, given the fact that nothing hurts it or infects it.
User avatar #95 to #89 - obtuse (01/01/2013) [-]
I didn't google any of it. You learn this in school.

During the anaphase period of cellular mitosis, chromatids are pulled to the opposite poles of the cell as the cell prepares to split. During this time, a second copy of every organelle in the cell is duplicated.

When there is a cancerous cell, the enzyme that usually initiates the cell to destroy itself when a mutation is found does not perform its job due to insufficiency or mutation. This cell can now reproduce and will not have the necessary health to create new duplicates.

When this cell is finished mitosis, the "gateway" enzyme is not present in either cell. This allows the cell to reproduce exponentially and incredibly fast. This can lead to errors in duplication which can lead to mutated chromatids and missing organelles. In a tumor, there is not enough (or if any at all) organelles in these cells, creating a useless mass of cells that take up resources and space in the body. Eventually, cells around the growth would begin to die. This would make you far from immortal.

Essentially, Cancer cells do NOT actually have this enzyme. Every heathy cell does, and it's what orders the cell to destroy itself when any issues are found to salvage the health of the surrounding cells.

I also find it offensive that you instantly assume I googled any of this.

I was not disagreeing with you.

Some of your **** , I liked.
I do not consider myself a brony, I just like a cartoon.

But along with your idea of what cancer is, your ideal on what a brony is, is also false.

what you call a brony is a ponyfag.

A brony is just someone who is fanatically into the show enough to integrate it into part of their everyday life. It has no gender requirement, All it is, is a passion for the show.

User avatar #84 to #69 - obtuse (12/31/2012) [-]
Are you implying that his hobby cannot, in fact, be arguing with bronies?

I often find some of the responses to be incredibly amusing.

I'm pretty sure you can consider any hobby a waste of time.
#87 to #84 - captfuckhead (12/31/2012) [-]
well, how is arguing with someone a valid waste of time? You sit there typing up things meant to enrage a certain group, and this group in turn, doesn't get mad. Really, you're just wasting time that could be used elsewhere to help the community, or at least make your living quarters a more tolerable place to be.

Speaking of, I don't intend to waste my entire day, this being new year's eve and all, arguing the frivolity of what you're doing. Instead I'm just gonna leave you another pony picture and wish you a happy new year's.
User avatar #94 to #87 - obtuse (01/01/2013) [-]
You can also consider worshiping cartoon horses targeted at young girls to be an invalid waste of time.

I can consider every single comment in this thread against the OP to be fueled by anger. Why would you comment otherwise? Unless you feel as though it is a personal attack, which at that point would border on the morbid to picture a person so absorbed by the show and the fandom that every single cuss word and insult used against them must be responded with immediate negativity.

This comment, along with the various others I have left, have taken me no less than 15 minutes collectively to type. That is hardly my entire day.
User avatar #96 to #94 - captfuckhead (01/01/2013) [-]
Worshipping? Hardly. I can't take into account others, but I enjoy the show just as much as I enjoy others.

I just fail to see why anyone would take the time, even as little as 15 minutes, to denigrate an entire group, just because you don't like them. Some groups, such as the KKK, Nazis, WBC, they've earned their hatred, and as such, they're labelled hate groups....but Bronies?

I never once called you out on a personal attack, just merely wondering why you aren't doing something constructive AND fun. Have you tried building models?
User avatar #100 to #96 - obtuse (01/02/2013) [-]
I'm not sure why you would intentionally categorize yourself into what the OP had to say about bronies in the first place, if you consider yourself more of a moderate.

I feel as though I should point out this glaring flaw in your logic; you say that you fail to see why someone would take the time to denigrate certain people because you don't like them, although you initially responded to the OP with a comment filled with implied subordination and venom.

And, once again, I enjoy arguing with bronies. I find it funny as hell. You can consider me ****** up, but in a world where grown men legitimately watch a show sculpted for the purpose of learning young females in the magics of friendship, who can honestly give a **** . the only reason I ever commented on this is because the OP is a close friend of mine.

I could go on all day about what I do other than that brief, insignificant 15-20 minutes of arguing with people on the internet, but I want to spare looking like a haughty asshat. I also find the fact you suggest me alternatives as though I'm too inept to think of them my own very condescending.

Just so I'm clear, I honestly do not give a **** about people who just watch the show. I am talking about loud, inhibitionless morons of your fandom that post their show wherever they are, wear their taste in television on their chest like a badge of honor in a vain-strewn attempt to be edgy and fit in to the "underground group", and insipid mongoloids who make fanart and fanfiction blowing the entire plot of the show, and other shows (Ponification) into a million insignificant pieces. Those people are who I direct it to. This may or may not include you. It is, after all, your choice.

And I know this is what the OP had in mind.

And don't give me any "We're not all like that" regurgitation. Seeing as how many bronies thumbed me down, and have thumbed me down in the past, there is a lot less loving and toleration then some claim there to be present.

Ok, I've read through your comments and I think I see what you're saying.
To you a brony is someone who claims to like MLP for attention which is indeed stupid, but surely not widespread. I couldn't possibly relate to the idea of identifying as a brony just so people on the internet might think I'm edgy, but I guess that's just me. You consider these "bronies" to be separate to the rest of the fandom, despite most but not all members of the fandom also identify as bronies (So you can understand the confusion that arises when these two separate definitions of "brony" meet, such as in the below comments). the crux of your statement is that (your) bronies are a cancer upon the internet, which is also difficult to believe as the internet is a big and old place and bronies, fake or otherwise, aren't even particularly widespread.

Although, assuming my evaluation of your argument was correct, that's still just my opinion.

Well, if not treated, Cancer doesn't have an upper limit to it's life span. So by extesion,
Bronies = immortals.
And amount intelligent lifeforms, only God and Demigods can be immortal, so
Bronies = demigods.
