I'd prefer the NLR if there weren't any fighting going on between the two. A feud between the two empires would result in the death of many ponies. (Perhaps even the Mane 6, depending on the circumstances)

I am a loyal Equestrian, but I gotta say that the Griffons have cool armor.
Simple and protective, yet maintains a sense of personality.
Their gunpowder weapons are also to be envied.
We could learn much from them if relations improve.

That may be true, we can learn a lot from out enemies...
But a cease fire is out of the question. The griffins have always been a violent race. Even our first contact with their race, We came offering peace and an alliance, but they sought war and riches. Our races are incompatible.
Perhaps in time, they may become increasingly amiable; as the Pegasus once did. Until then, We must fight on; Defending our homes and the ones we love.

I guess you haven't been cleared for such classified knowledge yet, I guess now is a better time than never. We have already begun testing on such things. Our prototype is fully functional, and exceeded our greatest expectations. They should begin full production within the next Lunar cycle. Shouldn't be long after that until their on the front lines. Just made that up... Not sure if there is a Lunar cycle... or even if that's a legitimate measurement of time :P

I'm just pulling out random art that seems relevant :P
