Why not stop worrying about how others see you and just enjoy what you do?
I'm 21, and sure if I'm in Wal-Mart or what have you i'll take a quick skim by to see what they have. Same with MTG and stuff there. You like the show, why not simply enjoy it?

Ok I guess I forgot to mention in my post here that my friends do know that I'm a brony and that they do make a lot of jokes about it but in a friendly way.
User avatar #21 to #19 - embennett (07/17/2012) [-]
Ah, see luckily for me the few people I've told haven't seemed to care all that much *shrug*
But like I said, if you like something you like it. Plain and simple dude, so why not enjoy it? That doesn't mean you gotta cosplay or own lots of t-shirts and "PONIEZ ALL TEH TIMES!!!!" But if you're at the store why not take a quick look?
Maybe you'll see your favorite pony, and then even if you don't buy it maybe you'll get a smile out of it =)

thanks man. next time I'm with my friends and we are in the same incident then I guess they might just have to deal with it.

Youd look like a pedo if there were children there
User avatar #11 - nildnas (07/17/2012) [-]
It's a show. Why should you be proud or ashamed of watching it?
User avatar #10 - marking (07/16/2012) [-]
Again, there is no such thing as a wardrobe or close because this would imply a change in you sexuality that nobody is aware of. Just say you havent told them, besides its just a show its not like your going to be frightened because people finding out you watched the adventure time or something like that.

It depends on how you use it. If you play with them like.........toys, then that is simply childish. But if you keep them as collectables, then that simply means you are a ******** fan of the show.........

Do whatever you want. If a brony wants to buy a pony toy, he/she can choose to buy one. If he/she doesn't, that's his/her choice, it doesn't make him/her any less a fan of ponies.

....... Really? No seriously, REALLY? You post this crappy post in general for no good reason. WHY, you do this no one knows. But All I know is that this post pisses me off for horrible misspelling, stupid thing to write about, pony, and a non funny post. You post this because you want the community of funnyjunk to care for you to actually respond to you when you think your important. You think your in the "inner circle" and people actually "Care" about your problems when in real life no one here cares so please kindly shut the hell up. Being a Brony is not a big deal its just idiots like you that make a big deal about something so small and trivial that really shouldn't even stand out in our society, much more horrendous than is should be. You are cancer so kindly stop POSTING THIS CRAP!
User avatar #17 to #7 - dribble (07/17/2012) [-]
Well theres your problem. the fact that this does stand out in society is part of the reason people (or brony's in this case) dont want to come out, because society doesnt understand things like this. If liking ponies, watching a show for little girls and buying toys were all accepted by society, we wouldnt have this problem.

Yes OP could have found a better spot for this question (such as the tread) but i believe it to be a legitimate question. alot of bronies out there have this problem. Also i do care, being a brony myself and having had this problem at one time.

please dont take this comment the wrong way, i am merely stating my opinion on the matter, and respect your opinion. Everyone has the right to their own opinion.

Have a nice day or night (depending on where you are) :D

I only posted it here because I come to FJ everyday, and the brony community here is the only community that I mostly know so I thought why the **** not.
User avatar #23 to #20 - dribble (07/18/2012) [-]
ohh ok :D also the fact that its pony related i just want to make clear, i dont mind that its posted here, but people insist that these type of things go to the thread. to answer your question, in my opinion of course i dont think there is a right or wrong way to be a brony. you can do what you like :) being a brony doenst mean that you have to buy or like the merchandise. I have the same problem when i go to the store as well, i just want to have a look at what there is (the whole brony phenomenon hasnt really hit here that much, so i want to see what exactly they have, other than of course mc donalds selling the toys) but that doenst make us any less of a brony :P this is just my opinion however.

(also good choice of game :D)

How you carry yourself when you display your fandom will reflect on how your friends react. I'm quite open myself, but I act as if it is nothing to be ashamed of and something that brings me joy. (And I usually aim for the more visually appealing merchandise as well) So far, the most negative reaction I've ever gotten from others were "Whatever floats your boat."

But no matter how open you are, you should not be ashamed. You should be proud to be a brony regardless of how you display it, because this is a very worthwhile fandom at the very least.

inb4 some anon hater calls me a fag for making a life decision that they have no real say in.

Personally, the only way you'd find me with a pony toy is if it were show-accurate. Or if it was a huggable plushie.

On the point, you do what you want. If you feel like getting a pony toy, you go do that.

Just because you're a brony doesn't automatically mean you have to like everything about the fandom.

User avatar #13 to #4 - riddlerenigma (07/17/2012) [-]
Really it's just the toys I most likely would not buy. I'm wearing a Brony t-shirt right now.

Hey man, don't worry about it, if you don't want to reveal that you are a brony, that is your choice. Do what YOU want to do, not what you thing WE want you to do. Some people are just more comfortable showing that they are bronies. Don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable
