its HUA not hooyah
User avatar #35 to #18 - MitsukiOokami (01/16/2012) [-]
Ah, scratch that. After a quick Google search, several sites tell me that I have and have not been lied to...
HUA is Air Force as a whole, Hooyah is demolitions teams and civil engineers.

Hooyah is the Navy..lol

My best friend just got back from basic with the Marines, then another friend is going off in June for the Marines, another for the Navy, one going to the USAFA, also like 3 going to army, and lastly me and another friend going into the Air Force. I'm going for Combat Control. It's awesome how most of my little circle of friends are all military now.
User avatar #59 - cashcow (01/17/2012) [-]
MOS is Army. Come on man it's AFSC.

But good luck, I know people that have tried and didn't make it through. I'm stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL at the Red Horse SQ (you probably have no idea) but I see lots of our Special forces around base. I've always thought about re-classing to Combat Control or something.

I'm a brony, and i can tell you that this post is more worthy of my, yours, or anyone's time and thought than anything posted to ponytime. Yeah, Ponies are ******* awesome and emotionally can hit me in places i didn't know were there to be hit; but this guy is in reality, going to serve in the military.

with that being said i will say again; show some respect for this person.

by reading through the comments i see that you're both a troll and a monkey who apparently lacks the ability to reason.

i'm gonna take a guess at what you meant, and go with the answer that he posted in the description. He accidentally clicked ponytime in the channel selection, no big deal.

You are a disgrace to the Brony name. You have tested our limits of toleration to the maximum, and some have obviously been broken. Be gone with you.

Now I am sure of trolling. However, I shall explain myself. The original tribes had to defend themselves from wolves and other animals, so they of course had to form groups of warriors. The warriors were basically armies.
#36 - foehammerr (01/16/2012) [-]
good luck in the ChairForce man. maybe i'll see you as a CCT in the future as that's where most PJs end up when not performing their primary function as pilot rescuers.

>makes fun of military personel

> pretends to be a ranger

You see, the big dick-measuring contest ends when you actually join. Everyone relies on everyone else.
#40 to #39 - foehammerr (01/16/2012) [-]
Who said anything about pretending? first of all that image is of a ranger TAB meaning ranger school. does not refer to the 75th Ranger Regiment which uses a scroll which is the unit i said i'll BE in. I never said I'm already in though i already have my 68W option 40 contract and once i graduate and finish basic ill complete rasp THEN i'll be a Ranger.

also, "Chairforce" not so much making fun of as being endearing, like airborne calling ground units "legs" marines being called "jarheads" and tankers calling infantry "speedbumps". A-10's are a ground unit's best friend and i am by no means bashing the air force.

>pic unrelated
User avatar #42 to #40 - sonicg (01/16/2012) [-]
I lol'd at 'speedbumps' XD and to think I plan on going in as USMC Infantry.

I don't support war and military, I love and tolerate all the way.
User avatar #49 to #43 - MitsukiOokami (01/16/2012) [-]
Don't support the war, but support us troops. What we need is knowing we have people who care about us. As military men and women, we do what we are told, regardless of if we feel it is right.
User avatar #74 to #49 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
And that's one of the big flaws isn't it? Just following orders.
This is why I don't think I am someone the military would like to have in their ranks.
I like to think, and make my own decisions.
Sure I hope you guys survive and all that, because you're human beings, but don't think I'd say I support the troops.
User avatar #75 to #74 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
We do think, we do have our opinions, but for as long as we are serving, we follow orders. Why not support the troops? If we disobey orders, it can go as far as prison. What's wrong with saying "I respect and support you for you, but I don't support the war you are forced to fight"
Just trying to understand.
User avatar #76 to #75 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
As I said, I hope you guys survive, I don't support what you do.
I respect you as a person but as an instrument of death I do not, and that is what a soldier is.
User avatar #77 to #76 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
Wrong. I will be a soldier very soon, but I won't be used for killing. I will either work with computers for safety of the government, or translate for the military. I see this as more of a keeping peace rather than creating death.
User avatar #78 to #77 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
Well, then it's a totally different story. But that's not the type of troops the image is showing.
User avatar #79 to #78 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
Well we need those kinds of soldiers whether we like it or not. Another way to look at it, you should be glad you live in a country where people volunteer for service enough so that the government does not force everyone to join like many countries do. We only have to sign up for Draft, not for mandatory service.
Look at it that way, we take the job so you don't have to.
User avatar #80 to #79 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
Those troops wouldn't be needed if nobody else had troops like that. And they do not belong over seas, going to war to get one man and then starting another war based on lies is just stupid. Trying to be the worlds police is just plain stupid, because it won't work out in the end.
User avatar #81 to #80 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
So it's the troops fault that our government is a giant ******* ? Blame the government, not the troops, we follow orders.
To make this more personal, we don't join to kill. We don't join to fight a war.
I joined to help protect my country and it's people. My family, my friends, even people like you. Fight for your right to say that we're murderers. I joined in honor of many of my ancestors who died in wars that were worth fighting. We did not join to kill, but to do something good for our fellow Americans and American Allies.
User avatar #82 to #81 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
Hmmm, good point, but I watch the news, I know what some of the troops do down there, and that is not something that the US government is to blame for.
And sure I guess your ancestors war was worth fighting, but is this war worth fighting, because from my perspective it looks kind of useless.
And the war has done nothing good for any country, my country has only gotten terror threats and some more bodies to bury.
User avatar #83 to #82 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
Yes, I know what SOME of the troops do in the Middle East, and it is disgraceful and puts a bad name to the rest of us, but that should not label all of us.
But that's not what I'm looking at when I join. Sure, I get pissed at the government for all of our country's dead children coming back, but that does not say anything about the troops, but about the government. I joined for my country, not for our ****** up politicians.
all-in-all, some troops are messed up, but they get dismissed, and the government is ****** up, but we still have good men and women in the Service.
User avatar #84 to #83 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
Sure there are good people in the service, but face it troops are used for war, war is bad.
Sure you fight for your country, I would fight and die for mine if I had to. I hope the troops come back in one peace, but I don't support what they are being used for or what they do down there, because it's useless. So I guess I in a way support the troops. But they are currently not being used as guardians of peace, but for killing, and killing is bad.
User avatar #85 to #84 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
Now let's look at it on a practical side. We need to get out of Afghanistan, I agree. But there are severe problems in N. Korea, China, Israel, and Iran that could be devastating to countries like America, Japan, S. Korea, England, Germany, etc.
Yes, our forces should be used for something else, but it is possible our presence out there is keeping Iran from launching WMDs, seeing as how we'd be on their ass in a couple hours at most.
User avatar #86 to #85 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
I guess I can agree to that, sure, but if North Korea decided to do some **** , the troops are focused on the wrong area. I hope Obama manages to fix it, if a retard like Bush got 8 years Obama should also get 8 years.
User avatar #87 to #86 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
Obama is better than all the Rep candidates.... And not ALL of our troops are in Afghanistan, it's just focused in the M.E. We have troops all over, including S. Korea, Japan, and I think even the Philippines to deal with any Asian-based threats.
User avatar #88 to #87 - carrotstew (01/17/2012) [-]
Well yeah, I know you have troops all over, I'm just sayin' that it seems (from my point of view at least) focused on the Middle East, and to be honest I would be more conserned about North Korea, though I do see the reasons to be worried about Iran, I was kind of hoping that the revolutions in the arab world would spread to Iran, maybe it will later on we'll see.
#60 to #43 - drmcninja (01/17/2012) [-]
And that's cool, as long as you respect and support the troops.
#73 - iviagicbanana (01/17/2012) [-]
I go to MEPS tomorrow to join the USAF. "One does not simply join Pararescue" you have to get a job in the Airforce first, then train, and then pass through their training when a slot is opened. Pay is hella good though. It goes with any special operations job. I wanted to do combat control. I'm hoping for a slot in EOD. Airforce can't reserve you a job though. Only the army can. Good luck!
User avatar #89 to #73 - MitsukiOokami (01/17/2012) [-]
Actually Pararescue is for anyone who enlists. According to Airforce.com and other sources, Pararescue is a job contract like all the other Enlisted jobs. The Tech School is quite long and extensive though. no the AF can't reserve you a job, but they will give you one of the jobs you have on the list. Pararescue is a much needed job, so chances are anyone who signs for it will get it. Although you have to be qualified for it (ASVAB score, Male, Strength test of I think L, no fears of heights or blood, etc.)
#91 to #89 - iviagicbanana (01/18/2012) [-]
I had never said Pararescue was excluded from anyone (except women). You just can't go to your recruiter and say, "I want Pararescue". Its because of the endurance, strength, etc that people have to be able to obtain to be able to make it through their training. Take some time and watch a show called "Surviving the Cut" maybe youtube it and look for USAF Pararescue. Its pretty damn difficult to get through. People train for years to be able to make it through and be able to be called Pararescue men.

TL;DR: Pararescue is available to all male enlisted. Just you can't be sent specifically for it. You have to have a non spec ops job first, then apply.
User avatar #92 to #91 - MitsukiOokami (01/18/2012) [-]
No, you can just walk into the recruiter and say "I want pararescue".
My brother did, and all my recruiter said was "well they have a few extra tests for you up at MEPS, and if you pass those, you just gotta hope for an opening in the job field."
I have never heard whatever you're saying.
#93 to #92 - iviagicbanana (01/18/2012) [-]
