I wasn't on FJ around that time. It was however around the time of Chelsea Manning. There was another high profile case, but i can't think of it. It had to do with the rapes of a few women in the Philippines that got murdered. (They were trans) in the same period. 1. All of them were important government officers for the Taliban.

2. The circumstances of Bergdahl's capture were already well known at the time. I heard three years ago, when the exchange was happening, that he may be trading one cell for another on the other side of the world.

So while I don't think he was intentionally undermining the U.S. here, I do think that this situation was handled incompetently.

I think it depends if the desertion caused any deaths or injuries or it's desertion in times of active combat that warranted the death penalty.

Its a catch-all for when you cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they committed treason. There is a reason why it is still punishable by death.

There are a lot of really ****** trans people and I've had the misfortune of getting to know quite a lot of them through support groups. I know exactly what you mean. I lost one of my best friends when they came out as female-to-male trans because they became a militant sjw cunt who freaked out at me for asking things such as "what would you prefer me to refer to you as" or making a joke. Most of the trans people I know are exactly the same. I wanted bernie too, and I only voted Hilary just to keep trump out. I was going to aid the trump supporters in impeaching her anyway.
