Teaching someone how to be safe isn't encouraging them to do something. Since when has knowing how to do something ever been encouraging?

I know how to make mustard gas. I'm not going to make it. I was taught how how police find bodies and what are ways of making it so police can't find a trace. I'm not going to murder anyone yet . I was taught how to break a persons arm in one move. I'm not going to break anyones arm, unless needed. Same with sex. Knowing safe sex is nice to know where you need it.

They don't teach kids "you have to have sex but be safe!" they teach them the options when the times comes. Also who the **** would read the back of a box in a heat of the moment?

That means I have a problem with schools encouraging sex. Later, what I made the distinction between encouraging sex and simply teaching how to be safe during sex, I said that teaching how to be safe is not the same as encouraging it.

I was a teenager. As a teen, I wouldn't even listen to being taught that stuff, because I would've just taken 3 seconds to read the box instead. Though, I decided at an early age to not have sex before marriage anyways. Teaching abstinence as your only plan doesn't work, but if abstinence is chosen on a person basis then it works fine.

I know in order to prescribe certain meds at the clinic I work at, (meds like to treat acne) women have to be on birth control, but are there that many women suffering from painful menstrual cycles to include that in the argument for birth control?

Yeah actually. You never really hear of women "enjoying" or tolerating their periods. It's a pain in the ass. Birth Control not only helps with extreme pain/ heavy flow, but also hormonal and emotional side-effects of periods, which almost every female experiences.

But having cramps and having debilitating pains are different. I knew a woman with the sporadic periods like he mentioned, and there's a huge difference between that and a normal cycle. Some days she couldn't even move and the loss of blood was extreme.

Nobody "pops birth control like pez" and it absolutely does help with periods. My daughter had period cramps that were debilitating to the point she could barely move and birth control sorted them out.

Do more research next time. Birth control pills are not just for sex they are a form of hormonal treatment. They are used for medical purposes. I understand it's hard to imagine a pain you've never dealt with before but try to show a bit more empathy. I ended up going to the hospital after collapsing due to massive pain and later found out I had endometriosis. The birth controls literally saved me hours of pain and suffering and here you are telling girls to just deal with it.

That's a load of ********. I was first placed on birth control at 15 because my periods were so sporadic (it would go months at a time without one and then bleed for days only to go months without one again) and painful and, because of the offset cycle, I was at a much higher risk of getting ovarian or uterine cancer along with other problems. The birth control helped to regulate my periods and give me a normal cycle and lowered my chance of getting cancers. I didn't lose my virginity until I was 20 and have subsequently been using it to regulate my cycle and prevent pregnancy with my partner.

If a woman is "popping them like pez" then they would have some serious medical issues since you're only supposed to take a single pill per day. The amount of estrogen overload to your system would cause more problems than it would help with not getting pregnant.

Perhaps if you could construct better sentences you would make more sense. That said, your underlying point is totally wrong.

The post isn't about proving that it "can't be covered" by the government. The point is that private charity will take over if the government stops funding as has been said for years about many government programs.

You can argue that the temporary funding provided by the Gates won't be long lasting, but it is highly unlikely that they or others like them will not build (or use an existing) charity to fill the void of government spending for a longer term.

I worked for humanitarian organization that was concerne with legal rights of women in Africa to get AIDS treatment and blah blah blha.

In short - I realized they multiply like fu***g rabbits there, because there is literally no reason not to. Noone is told - hey look 5 years into future - you may better choose to abstain from making a family till age of 25, when you have made something out of yourself.

They simply **** as of the day their peckers stand and vaginas get moist.

Hence tons of poor unwanted children are born, a lot with birth diseases, since mom or dad ill with AIDS or something like that simply were not told that sex spreads it and kid may also be sick and will die pretty fast.

Honestly, I agree with the view that birth control is an investment, both domestically and abroad. Yeah, we're giving it away, but the payoff both financially and in security and stability should be several fold down in a generation or less. Like all investments, there are no guarantees, and I understand the other side of the argument, but this is the position that makes the most sense to me.

We're not stopping HIV in Africa. We send non-latex condoms in case anyone has a latex allergy since we don't know who would be getting the condoms. Non-latex condoms have microstiching that is still large enough for HIV to get through. It can help control population rates however, but most people in Africa don't use them anyways and it becomes wasted money.

There are a lot of countries on this planet that are not politically developed enough to look this far into the future. It should be their burden to bare but the fact is if we leave it up to them they won't do anything. I would rather devote some money to prevent them from destroying the planet than stand by and say it's not our problem. And it's not just a problem for white people. Countries like China should be doing their part as well.

Not using tax money to fund the choices of women =/= denying them birth control.

Women can use birth control all they want, just not at the detriment of the American tax payer.

It is not my tax dollars' responsibility to pay for condoms for savages in impoverished countries who **** like animals. There are enough problems in the U.S. that need the funding, have your own country fix it, especially after the whole world always complains that the U.S. meddles in other countries. People are happy to bash the U.S. however they can.

Except that this has nothing to do with condoms; the law in question banned international NGOs from offering or educating people about abortion if they receive US funding.

So in actuality this is the government overstepping its bounds and enforcing laws on private companies, something people are normally against. If the government doesn't want to fund those companies they don't have to, but they don't get to demand that those companies abide by their rules after willingly giving them money. If you don't like what they're doing then retract funding and save everyone a dollar.
