Yes, that's precisely the joke here. During WW2 when Nazi Germany invaded Soviet Union the Soviets just pulled back further and further and burned all farms, granaries, etc along the way. So the Germans were in the ass end of nowhere in Mother Russia with no food and no supplies once winter hit.

I love how everybody think that all Israelis are Jews.
There's a difference between being Israeli and being a Jew but many people miss the point, even in Israel, where I was born and raised, people will discriminate you if you're not Jewish, being a Russian/American/British is okay so long as you're also part Jewish. Also, if you didn't do the circumcision at birth, people are going to hate you so much, they might stone you (Not really, but that's my thought).

tl;dr jew and israeli = different things

Wait...wait...so you Americans are actually on Israels side?
I know that your government is, but i thought that you weren't as dumb as them.
Do you even realize that the people who lived in Israel before WW2 were driven away forcefully, so the Jews could have their own country?
England took Israel and gave it to the Jews in the first place, so why the **** are the Palestenian people the bad guys?
Palestine stands no chance against Israel, because America is giving them weaponry, defense systems etc.
They are at war and when Palestine starts an attack that doesn't even do any damage to Israel because of the Iron Dome America gave them, Israel attacks them as an act of revenge and blows up whole towns and hundreds of people.

So who the **** are the bad guys here?
The people of Palestine, who just want to get their country back and stand no chance
or
The people of Israel, who just took their country away from others and use every little **** as an excuse to attack Palestine and get help from America?

I know this is going to cause a massive ********* , but I don't even care.
I hope at least you people will start thinking for once, if your government won't.

I'm not from Palestine or anything like that, I'm in fact European and most people in Europe see things from the same point as I do.

That's one of the many things why the rest of the world hates you, America.

The Muslims took that land from the Jews in the first place, a very long time ago. That doesn't mean the Palestinians are the bad guys, it just means the Jews have a claim to the area.

It were the Persians who took Palestine from the Jews. When the Christians took it over they drove out everyone else.

When Muslims freed Jerusalem it was thanks to them that the Jews could re-enter it.

The IDF has a strict policy on the killing of civilians. The only times when civilians are killed are accidental and because Hamas used civilian buildings (hospitals, playgrounds, mosques, etc.) to hide their missiles.

The IDF phones civilians living in areas where they might bomb to warn them, they drop leaflets advising them to distance themselves from Hamas active areas, they call of airstrikes if civilians are spotted nearby the target, and as well as using pinpoint precision, they drop dud bombs prior to actual ones, giving warning to civilians still in the area.

User avatar #76 to #69 - Antiquisition ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
You called this guy insane because of his opinion, so you're the exact same jerk as I am.

I'm sorry I did that, but saying "Read the news, no one is killing arabs because they are inferior. " is not even an answer to my post, because I never stated that Arabs are being killed because they are inferior, I just said they stand no chance against Israel.

Also your other comment stating "They are giving land away, not taking more." Is just completely false, because Israel was Jewish before they were taken over more than 1300 years ago and it grew smaller due to the fact that it was ruled by many different "governments" who were doing whatever the **** they wanted to do.
So it weren't the Jews who generously gave away parts of Israel.
#82 to #76 - kanudaman (06/21/2013) [-]
First of all, I called him insane not because of his opinion, but because he said Israel kills Palestenian people because they are inferior, and that is, in fact, not true. I wasn't referring to your post, only to his.

And I'm not sure why you're talking about what happened thousands of years ago, I don't think is relevant. I'm was talking about the last few decades, not centuries... That was Israel giving away, not through war or something like that.

I'm mostly pro-Israel in my stance of the Israeli-Arab conflict, although I do disagree with quite a bit of Israel's decisions.

The mentality during the planning of Israel's conception was one fresh out of the throes of genocide. It was one born out of fear and paranoia that Jews were not safe where they were and had to have their own country if they ever wanted to ensure their survival and ensure another holocaust never happens again to them. After all, a majority of their history was comprised of misery, suffering, and death. Zionists, specifically Hershel, figured that the absolute best place to have a Jewish state within the British colony of Palestine. Eventually, they got their wish, but without the consent of the Palestinians. I disagree with this move simply because it mirrored the Munich Convention, where the Allied powers gave half of Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany without their consent as well.

It's understandable why the Palestinians waged war with Israel in '48, but it was the greed of the neighboring countries as they tried to invade and annex any Israeli land they could capture, which they failed to do. And because of this, any sort of "sympathy" Arab governments show towards the Palestinians are invalidated in my mind.

The Palestinian factions fighting against Israel nowadays have taken a horrible turn. Hizb'allah and Hamas especially caused this. People in Israel have been targeted indiscriminately through whatever means they can manage, suicide bombings, rockets, and even gunfire, which is why Israel is so heavily guarded and explicitly strict with its border policies. It has to, otherwise it would be the end of them. And while clashes between Israel and these Palestinian factions result in a number of civilian casualties, mostly Palestinians, at least Israel tries to warn them to evacuate the area, as hard as that may be. And, here's the kicker, more Palestinians civilians are killed by these Palestinian factions than by Israel's attacks.
User avatar #80 to #78 - TheSchwartz (06/21/2013) [-]
I'm not saying it's as black and white as good and evil between the two in the conflict, but after seeing what Hamas and Hizb'allah do to their own, not to mention what Syria, Jordan, and Egypt do to their own, I believe that all hell will break loose in the Middle East more than it has already, and it will not benefit the Palestinians at all. Not one bit.

WOW, wow wow! Back the **** off, snowball.

I am from Europe myself (Denmark), and thankfully there are plenty Europeans as well as Americans who supports Israel.

No, England did not take the country from the Palestinians. They took it from the Ottoman Empire - who took it from the Arabs - who took it from the Mammeluks - who took it from the Crusaders etc etc.

The so called "Palestine" - which never was owned by palestinians - included all of Jordan as well. That is right. What England gave to the jews was, in fact, 1/8 of what had been promissed to them in the first place. Rest was given to the arabs, who, again, ****** it up for themselves by civil war, kicked the PLO out of Jordan, King denied land for palestinians - bye bye peace.

The pals could have gained massive land (actually 98% of what they wanted.. why you think Clinton was so pissed?) in both 2000 and 2006 in peacetalks, but no, they refused. Wonder why? Even Fatah denies to tell why, so I understand.

And to your comment about the other stuff: Grow up. This whole "Israel is the big evil guy, the palestinians the small cute puppies" is so old and extremly annoying. Do I support everything Israel and the IDF does? No. But tell me, after Israel gave all of Gaza to the palestinians in 2005, what happend? I'll tell you....

The war-mongoring, sharia-supporting islamist group Hamas, who actually does have the destruction of Israel in its charter, wins the election, civilwar breaks out between them and Fatah, dozens die. 8000 rockets and morters gets fired at Israel before Israel launch op. Cast Lead in 2009. 4 YEARS! That is how long Israel wait. How many other countries would not just carpetbomb the whole area?

Yeah, ok, sorry for the long post. Anyway. Soooo many things I would like to address, but I'll stop for now....

Cheers

I've chosen to not give a **** about the whole situation.
Neither side is in the right in my opinion. Sure the Palestinians may have had my sympathy for some time, but the way they are dealing with the problem is just wrong. And they are bringing more problems upon themselves.
The only reason I supported Israel for a bit is because I think the idea of having a non-Islamic nation in the Middle East might be kind of a good idea.. but **** , they are almost just as radical and violent as the Muslims around them.

So in the end, I just don't give a **** anymore.

Israel stole weapons from the US? No, they were given some weapons in the beginning to defend themselves. From that point on, Israel developed or bought their own weapons. And the weapons Israel was given weren't even very good. They were just leftovers from WWII, but Israel still successfully defended itself on three fronts and even made gains.
Israel's weapons and technology development is one of the best in the world, and they actually develop much of the technology the US uses. UAVs? Israel. Cellphones? Israel.
Israel also has more Nobel Prizes by itself than all of the Arab/Muslim countries combined. This is not because they are given them, this is because they earned them.
And that whole "They only side with us because it is beneficial" ******** ? What happened in Egypt not too long ago? Wasn't the US Government allied with Mubarak for nearly all of his 3 decade reign of tyranny? And didn't the US turn its back on him as soon as it wasn't beneficial? Yeah.

well, I can't really answer that, but I have a hunch about why so many European support the Palestinians.
I what my family in Europe says is true (and they have no reason to lie to me), the Immigration of Arabs from Arab countries made them quite the number, so the people of Europe hear more stories from them about the suffering of their family and therefore gives them more support.
User avatar #51 to #44 - Antiquisition ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
My whole family lives spread all over Europe and I live here since i was born and I have to say that neither anyone from my family nor I have ever heard someone from an Arab country tell stories about their families in Palestine.
But I did hear Jews, who don't even have families in Israel complain about Palestine and other Arab countries.

So I don't think my opinion is really influenced by stories other people tell,
I just try to look at the whole situation objectively and in my opinion,
Israel are the "bad guys". (I know you can't divide things like that in "good" or "bad", but I just think the stuff Israel does isn't justified)
User avatar #53 to #51 - mrmask (06/21/2013) [-]
of course not everything Israel does is justified, neither sides do, but when one side hides weapons and explosives in hospitals and schools, well, that just speaks for itself.
User avatar #57 to #53 - Antiquisition ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
Both sides do this.
But if Palestine does it, the media (especially American media, so they can justify their support for Israel) will make a big thing out of it.
If Israel does it, it's most likely it won't even be said in the news.
User avatar #61 to #57 - mrmask (06/21/2013) [-]
I'm sorry but if you think Israel does it you are insane,
it has an organized army with plenty of bases all over the country, and the only ones that are near cities are purely for managing the rest of the bases.
plus, it has a special devision (called the "home front command") who's whole role is protecting the citizens and nothing else, so keeping weapons and explosives in civilized structures is out of the question.

If you want to know why America Supports Israel look at the cold war, it was just another proxy war to see what some US tech could do against some Russian tech that the Arabs had. We support them now because they are an important ally against middle eastern based terrorism that the US considers its primary concern. If we complain about them killing civilians they could just as easily talk about our actions in the middle east, it is better for both sides to support each other.

But it was conquered by the Arabs in 635.

true, true, America does fund a lot of the Israeli development, and yes, Jews did live in Israel a long time ago, but, here is the thing, there aren't as nearly as many native Americans left as Jews, and although I don't really know about how the ones that are left are being treated, I don't think that they are hated as much as the Jews were when Israel was founded. plus, Palestine at the time wasn't only in the area in which Israel exist today, it included the area in which Jordan is,so by creating Israel, not all of Palestine was taken, but only 1/3 of it, leaving plenty of space for 2 states.
User avatar #48 to #42 - Antiquisition ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
If someone would say "hey, we'll give 1/3 of America back to the natives", and your state was part of the 1/3, would you just go with it?

Also the Jews where hated by the Nazis and that's it.
Nowadays you can't say anything negative about Israel or Jews without being called a Nazi.
Aren't the people from Palestine much more hated?
They're being called " *********** " or "terrorists", especially from Americans.

But is "being hated" a valid reason to take something away from others?
I don't think so.
User avatar #52 to #48 - mrmask (06/21/2013) [-]
1/3 is relative to the size, Israel is about the size of New Jersey, plus, before the Jews settled in the country was mostly dessert and swamps, less the 30% was settled, so if 6000000 native Americans wanted to take such an are with barely any life in it, well, they might not have gotten it since America doesn't really need to answer to anyone, but it would have most probably made some noise among the population of the world.
and I'm sorry to tell you but the world has a long history of hating Jews, even in the middle ages there were ghettos for Jews (only that in this case it was to protect them from the citizens), the Nazis were just the last and biggest demonstration of this hate.
and the Palestinians started to be hated because of 9/11 mostly
User avatar #56 to #52 - Antiquisition ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
I get your point, but I think it isn't about size or terrain, it's about property.
No human want's to give up their property, especially, if they aren't even asked about it.
The problem isn't that people from Palestine don't have enough place to live, it's more about fear, that one day the Jews will maybe try to get even more land, and take away even bigger parts of Palestine.
That's like giving a small part of America, with only small numbers of inhabitants to the people of north Europe, because their ancestors (the Vikings) were there a long time ago. Wouldn't Americans be afraid of them taking away more of their land and culture?

In fact, aren't many Americans ranting about Immigrants infiltrating their culture already, although they don't even have land nor the ability to form such big groups to threaten American culture?
#70 to #56 - kanudaman (06/21/2013) [-]
Meh, you mention America in every comment you make.
Anyway, the "fear that the jews will want more" is pretty preposterous, if you look at the maps of israel from the last several decades, you'll see it has gotten smaller, not bigger. They are giving land away, not taking more.
User avatar #64 to #56 - mrmask (06/21/2013) [-]
Americans mostly complain about those immigrants taking work places that an Americans could have, and Palestinian was never an independent country with its own government, since the Jews were kicked out it was controlled by several superpowers (at the times), eventually being controlled by the Turkish empire, then the British which allowed the Jews to settle in, and on the day they left the Jews declared independence, so in other words, it is the first independent government to control the area since its ancestors.

Let me ask you this. If Paris got shot by missiles to although it didn't get damaged. you think the french government would do nothing against it? give me a break you know they would, and every other country would do the same. Yes i admit it was a mistake forcing people out of their homes. And now it's just like it was when England controlled this place, when England controlled this place Jews and Palestinian were the bad boys and England have punished both of the Jews and Palestinian with brute force. Jews are the only ones who had their own country in this place since history exist, you can look for another autonomic country here but you wont find any.
I'm not saying my side is all sunshine and butterflies, but neither does the Palestinians. just think about it for a little. The Truth is always somewhere between what all the medias are showing.

I never said that the Palestinians didn't do anything wrong.
I just said that their actions are more reasonable, because they were driven away by force.

Of course the french government would do something about it.
But what if let's say England took over parts of France and the french people who were left would attack those parts of England, which belonged to them not too long ago. England would clearly do something against it, but would the attack justify them to launch a counter attack, if they have provoked the attack by taking the parts of France away in the first place?

From their and their allies point of view it would justify it.
But seen objectively it clearly wouldn't.

I agree with you on the media part though.

#43 to #25 - anon (06/21/2013) [-]
Some things that you said are plain wrong, some of them are:
England didn't just give the country to the Jews. There was an agreement where the jews will have around 40% of then country, and the arabs refused it. So the Jews took what they got. Then everyone attacked them, and they defended themselves.

Iron Dome was not "given to Israel by American", it was developed by Israel.
User avatar #49 to #43 - Antiquisition ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
Again, if someone would say "hey, we'll give 40% of America back to the natives", and your state was part of the 40%, would you just go with it?

And I already talked about Iron Dome, they didn't just gave it to them, but they funded big parts of it and they also funded many other things to make Israel more powerful then Palestine.
#63 to #49 - kanudaman (06/21/2013) [-]
I really don't know. Obviously what was done to the Native Americans was horrible, but it doesn't seem like much can be done about it now. The point is, Israel is now a functioning state with millions of citizens. If take a good look at history, you'll see that there were several offers made by Israel towards the Palestenians, none were accepted or really discussed.

I understand that the Palestenians deserve a home. But if you look at the middle east, you'll see there are a lot of Arab countries. A lot. A loooooooooot. Israel is a very small piece of land, and it is the only part of land the Jewish people have. They have a country there. What do you think should be done? Should the Jewish people give away their tiny piece of land? I don't think all Arabs are the same people. but I do believe they could find some arrangment, so they find a place for the Palestenians.

Seriously, why do so many other nationalities think all Americans are so dumb? You Europeans and other nationalities need to realize that you base many of your opinions on stereotypes. The small percentage of Americans who are actually bad just happen to be the most vocal. Hence the idea that the less you know the more confident you are you know everything and vice-versa. It's no different than an American saying all British people have bad teeth and drink tea everyday or all Irish people are red headed alcoholics. It doesn't stay true for the entire population because it is just a stereotype. Stop basing your opinions on those stereotypes and the trolls you meet on the internet and you may find those of us who are actually capable of rational ideas and discourse of ideas, politics, and so on. I mean no offense by this and I am not attacking you directly. I'm just saying there are a lot of us Americans that are intelligent and can make our own choices, we just know better than and don't care to get involved with stupid internet arguments and other ******** ... like i just did... just felt the need to express that.

...Israel had plenty of Jews before the war... The natives were never autonomous, they either lived under a colonial power or were displaced... the UN partition would have given them proper borders had they accepted it. Not to mention that they unquestionably got the better end of the deal before deciding that annihilating Israel was the better idea.

Both groups feel entitled to the land. One is willing to share, one isn't. That's what it boils down to.

I don't feel much like writing a bloody dissertation... but suffice to say if you need any education on Jewish history and why the Jews desperately sought out Israel for the entirety of their exile I'd be more than happy to tell you.

Wrong, all of the civilized countries are on Israel's side. For example, my country, Finland, has a foreign minister who is very critical of Israel. But, we still buy weapons and other systems from Israel for tens of millions of euros.
