What the **** man. This just totally blew my ******* mind. I played these two games sooooo much, and I somehow managed to get 6 copies of Sapphire and 3 of Ruby over the years. I don't know how. Ruby version was the only Pokemon game I ever truly beat though. Caught all 200 Pokemon completely legit....twice. I know Ruby and Sapphire inside and out. I could list off the entire elite 4 and all their Pokemon right now, complete with moveset and levels.

so how did you beat May and her Combuskin, because my Mashtomp's mud shot has no effect

Then your game is broken. First of all, May should have chosen treecko if you chose mudkip, and mud shot works just fine on combusken.

Well first off you have to ask yourself why the **** you have a nincada, shroomish, zubat, skitty, and silcoon on your team. Next I need to know what level your marshstomp is compared to your other pokemon, and what level her grovyle is. Considering your party, it seems to me that you have spent most of your time training your marshstomp as opposed to spreading the levels out evenly. If this is the case I'm assuming your Marshstomp is around level 26-29 (If you're fighting on route 110 in between Slateport and Mauville city). That means May's Grovyle is around level 20 if I remember correctly. If that's the case then it's most devastating move to you would be Absorb, considering that's the only grass move Grovyle learns up to that point. If everything I've said so far is true, you can either keep trying to beat May until brute force prevails and you manage to take her out due to a lucky critical hit, or you can try to play the type advantage. You don't have a fire, flying or effective bug type on your team though, so I'm not sure how you would do that. My best advice short of catching new pokemon would be train your Nincada until it learns a decent bug attack, if it ever does. Honestly though, you should have a Taillow/Wingull on your team to make the fight easy. However, if you're fighting May on route 119, when her Grovyle is on level 32 then you have some serious issues if that is your party. Since you still have a Marshstomp that means at most you have 3 levels on May's Grovyle, and with Grovyle's speed and ability to use leaf blade which equates to 280 power with Marshtomp's weakness, well, you're completely and utterly ****** to put it simply. Nothing in your team has the capability to take down that Grovyle. My advice? Get some decent types. **** your whole team besides Shroomish, get a Taillow/Wingull, Geodude, Elektrike, Linoone for HMs and evolve Shroomish. Then when you can, get a numel. And I better get a thumb for this post btw :P
