When I was a kid, my friends tricked me into thinking if the pokemon dies outside of battle by poision, it would DIE.

I played pokemon for 10 years and none of them died by posion and then I discovered the internet and found out it was all ********

When I had first got blue, My Blastoise got poisoned, and my older "friend" Told me that i had to trade it to him, it was poisoned but only in my game. The ****** Stole my level 97 Blastoise

That scenario used to scare the **** out of me as a kid, because for some reason I thought that if they fainted outside of a battle that they were dead and gone forever

That **** gave me nightmare man I'd find a wild pokemon that I knew could poison and I'd nope the **** back to town
User avatar #120 to #119 - Jesusnipples (04/11/2013) [-]
Meant to reply to Schadenfreude, I'm so good at this funnyjunk thing

TM's also have unlimited uses. It's convenient, but still ******** .

Seriously?

I remember boosting my Sheer Cold from 5AP to 8Ap. And at that time, I was lucky to be so smart.
User avatar #127 to #122 - messerauditore (04/11/2013) [-]
What? it doesnt add PP... It simply lets you teach it to other pokemon... What are you talking about?
User avatar #128 to #127 - ariusbrightwing (04/11/2013) [-]
A thing that increases max AP.
User avatar #129 to #128 - messerauditore (04/11/2013) [-]
Thats PP Up and PP Max. TM's are what we use to tech the moves in the first place...
User avatar #130 to #129 - ariusbrightwing (04/11/2013) [-]
Yeah that's what I mea-HEY IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME! Plus I meant the TM as in the move, I dunno if there's a disc for it.
User avatar #131 to #130 - messerauditore (04/11/2013) [-]
I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say. I'm gonna go ahead and stop the conversation now.
User avatar #132 to #131 - ariusbrightwing (04/11/2013) [-]
Sorry, but I must inform you on what I'm trying to say. >:V

Okeh so, Kyogre knows a move called Sheer Cold, anyone who as EVER done this move knows it's over-powered, but only has 5 PP. I one day figured out that with the PPup/max thing, I can increase that move's PP, and was much happier.

When I said AP before, it was a mistake, I meant PP.

Understand better now?
User avatar #133 to #132 - messerauditore (04/12/2013) [-]
What the **** does that have to do with my initial statement about TMs? Sheer cold isnt even a TM.
User avatar #134 to #133 - ariusbrightwing (04/12/2013) [-]
I wasn't looking at the TMs part. >:v I was looking at the unlimited moves part.

I miss the old poison system, it made the effects of a battle effect your game experience a little more. For example: in White Version whenever a trainer poisons me i can easily run back to a pokemon center before facing the next trainer, while in the other versions I was forced to choose between moving forward and risking my pokemon or running back to the pokemon center while at risk of a wild pokemon knocking out my pokemon that I was weakening.
#3 to #2 - anon (04/10/2013) [-]
I'm glad they don't have that anymore. I lost all my pokemon that I have on gold.

I had a full party, and my last pokemon was poisoned.
I had no berries, no healing items, nothing to cure with.

as soon as my last pokemon died with the poison.
I was teleported to the last pokemon center, which was the one that had the bird trainer.

I was in front of the pokemon center like usual, so i tried going up to run to heal my pokemon...nope...one step away and it fainted....so it gave me the scene again and i was infront of the pkmn center again... i lost it all.
User avatar #5 to #3 - shunkahawolf (04/10/2013) [-]
if your pokemon all fainted you were sent back to the center and all your pokemon were revived...

When I was little and playing Pokemon Red on my Gameboy Color, I had a poisoned pokemon for the first time and I woke up my dad because I thought something was wrong with the gameboy.

This has nothing to do with poison but your story reminds me of a time when I was little and played pokemon Silver for the first time on my Gamebody Color. I ran into Entei and basically jizzed my pants cause I had no idea what it was and woke my older brother up telling him to check this amazing mother ****** out.

Oh the memories :(

imo the entire screen suddenly blurring and the god damn sound of poison made the old pokemon games way more intense and scary.

Well not really. It just hurts your pokemon until it gets to zero, than the poison disipates.
I have mixed emotions about this.

You still lose HP outside of battle, they just don't faint. Not that it mattered in the first place, since you're already halfway to the pokemon center anyway.
#109 to #62 - anon (04/11/2013) [-]
go look at all the non-trivial stuff they've added and tell me that not dying of poison really matters.
User avatar #75 to #62 - randumbgamer (04/11/2013) [-]
The games themselves are actually pretty great and haven't taken anything else out of pokemon at all, if anything they added a lot of really fun and interesting things. Not to mention that there was some actual character development between, say you and your mom or your friend. Im just saying its rather insignificant thing to totally denote the new pokemon games on considering they're pretty much exactly like the old ones expect for one minor thing being removed, especially with all the things that were added to make it awesome. Yes you may not like some of them but for the most part they were all pretty cool, like the rotation battles and stuff like that. And hey at least you have a rival again and not just a friend again.
