I have a feeling there's something really useful in there. Something that would make me want to go back and replay the whole game to get.

What's the story behind the shiny Gyarados? I have a feeling in the game, there was some backstory to it.

It was forced completely into evolution and retained its colour from a magikarp

Team Rocket was using Radio signals to evolve the magikarp unnaturally into Gyarados so they could sell them. The Red Gyarados was the result of a magikarp evolving WAY too early, so he retained his magikarp color.

You can fix that pretty easy.
www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/
You'll need a screwdriver to get into the cartridge and a CR2025 battery. Both are found on Amazon and probably in hardware stores too. It's tricky, but I've done it numerous times. It works.

I actually put up a tutorial here like a year ago. If you melt a cheap pen, you can stick it onto the screw, and then wait for it to harden, you can make your own, single use screw driver. I have been fixing up games for my friends.
I had hop for my old pokemon that was what I was concerned for.
Thumbed for you being a good perosn
