is nobody going to comment that one of them is dead too.

I don't think they are literally eggs, I think that's just a defense mechanism, like how certain fish look like rocks. Over time they have evolved to look like that, since when a predator sees the eggs they assume they're in hostile territory and leave so as not to get hurt by a stronger Pokemon. They then evolve into a tree so they can hide, but still defend themselves if a predator is hungry.
User avatar #10 to #4 - binomancha (11/08/2013) [-]
i never thought of them as eggs but as seeds since they evolve to a tree
User avatar #11 to #10 - toymoo (11/08/2013) [-]
The pokedex entries kind of contradict each other in that sense. Some say they are eggs, some say they are merely mistaken for such and are seeds. Just go with what you believe. Follow your dreams.

they could have easily made a baby Kangaskhan in Gen II when they introduced babies.Honestly though, they already had the design all they needed to do was make it it's own pokemon, they even went through the trouble of making it 3D this Gen.
User avatar #21 to #15 - gragasvlad (11/09/2013) [-]
originaly it was Cubone-Marowak-Kangaskhan but they scraped that for some reason.
User avatar #38 to #21 - pokemonstheshiz (11/09/2013) [-]
no it wasn't. that's a widespread internet rumor to support the fan theory. See my comment below
User avatar #24 to #21 - charlesnightmare (11/09/2013) [-]
Isn't there also a theory that Gen I missingno was supposed to be the pre-evelution to kanghaskahn, but was scraped?
User avatar #28 to #24 - oliveirajo (11/09/2013) [-]
No. I suggest you to go learn how and why a missingno. appears. If you are too lazy, I'll just say missingno. is a bird type
User avatar #25 to #24 - skullzer (11/09/2013) [-]
no i think when they took out that marowak from evolving into kanghaskan it made missingno since it was last minute
User avatar #29 to #25 - ispn (11/09/2013) [-]
Well, actually in the original design, Cubone evolved strait to Kangaskhan. There was never a Marowak, but they decided to do a last minute change, and implemented Marowak, removed the evolution to Kangaskhan, but the pokemon entry was still there, and never got fully removed, so on rare occasions you would encounter that Missingno. Pokemon, which was supposed to be an evolved Cubone-to-Kangaskhan. Eventually Missingno. became a big thing so they made it into an actual Pokemon later on in the later gens, making a total of 151 Missingno. i think
#39 to #29 - DJFatcat (11/09/2013) [-]
You're only half right. Missingno is a placeholder pokemon, used to fill up unused hexadecimal spots in the game's code. Due to time constraints, Missingno ended taking up a BUNCH of slots. So, it might've been Cubone-Kangaskhan, or it could've been one of the many Gen 2 pokemon who were supposed to be in this game.

Also that last part of your comment
what
User avatar #46 to #39 - ispn (11/09/2013) [-]
OH CRAP! im sorry that last part i mixed up the Unknown and the MissingNo. I do not know how that happened.
User avatar #37 to #29 - pokemonstheshiz (11/09/2013) [-]
That's actually not true at all.
errors.wikia.com/wiki/Missingno.
Missingos exist because while there are 151 pokemon, 256 slots had to exist (numbers in coding are generally 2^n, in this case 2^8, which is why it was called an 8 bit game.)The rest of the slots were filled with missingnos, trainers, and glitches pokemon. These aren't generally encountered in the game, but you can use knowledge of how the game functions to purposefully encounter one (look up why the glitches, especially the old man glitch, work. it's pretty interesting).

That theory was kinda thrown out there simply because it aligns with the fan theory that Cubone is a baby Kangaskhan.
#35 to #29 - xashun (11/09/2013) [-]
Actually missingno has nothing to do with any baseless Cubone/Marowak/Kangaskhan rumours.
There's a section on why missingno appears here;
gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Missingno.

missingo is a scraped pokémon whoms unfinished data was left in game and then it kinda bugged out
#22 to #15 - DanLacasky (11/09/2013) [-]
they did. its cubone. they just decided at least for now to leave it alone; fan speculation alone keeps any franchise alive

Those eggs aren't pokemon eggs they're eggs that are used to heal pokemon. they don't explain them much, but i guess you can say they're infertile.
User avatar #8 to #1 - Ihazfunkitty (11/08/2013) [-]
the first one doesnt have an egg, its a stone.
It carefully carries a round, white rock that it thinks is an egg. It's bothered by how curly its hair looks. - heartgold, soulsliver pokedex

What if, the kanghaskan's baby is the actual pokemon and is simply controlling the "Mother"?
User avatar #48 to #16 - hektoroftroy (11/09/2013) [-]
That's what Wobbuffet is
the real pokemon is the black "tail" psychically controlling the blue body

Inside the egg two separate Pokemon are made, they battle for nutrients, the winner continues to grow and get stronger in the egg while the other feeds off the leftovers. It comes out smaller and discolored, now out of the egg the stronger one takes care of the weaker one, although it's size will be forever stunted.

The few but many pokemon that just raise question and speculation. A weird thought of Khangaskhan pre evo possibilities is for how that pouch baby is even conceived in the first place or at least nintendo could make Khangaskhan a pokemon with a evo route. like per-se the parent pokemon portion "dies" because you make it hold a Skull item and it causes an evo into cubone or some other pokemon.
