The support group was probably meant to help council people in proper technique of being a vegan/vegetarian. If it was for actual moral support... *shrug* it can be a real bitch when there are a lot of people who think that you are going against what humans are "meant" to do.

Yeah, these sharp teeth must be for eating vegetables

Don't make this into a pissing contest. Human teeth are actually better suited for grinding and chewing vegetable protein over animal protein. Do our teeth look like that of a carnivores? No we do not have sharp canines made for ripping into animal flesh. Not convinced? We also require meat to be cooked before hand (something no other meat eater requires) because our digestive systems are not well suited enough to kill off the bacteria found in the meat. Furthermore not even our intestines were designed to handle the burden that eating meat has. Our intestines are exponentially larger than that of meat eaters (as it was designed more-so to eat plants). Carnivores, such as tigers have short intestines so they can jettison the remains of the animal flesh more quickly as if it were left in their system it would putrefy and cause health problems within the creature. So.... how else are we meant to eat meat?

I have three rows of canines. What should i make of that?
Also i have a friend who doesn't have any canines and he still
likes meat more. Our theeth evolved to deal with hart fruits, nuts
and meat. Deal with it and act according to nature.

"Do our teeth look like that of a carnivores"

you do understand the concept of 'omnivore', right..?
User avatar #18 to #4 - duvallwhitey (01/01/2013) [-]
We ate meat raw until we discovered how to cook. After that we simply at it cooked because IT TASTED BETTER. The appendix is thought to have used to help digest raw meat easier, but became more obsolete as meat became easy enough to digest within our stomachs.
And yes we have canines; feel the little pointy teeth in the front of your mouth?
Here's a big link to help prove me right even further.

"We" have eaten meat raw before yes, but you fail to include the average life-span of that time (yes other factors influence that). But the average life span also includes the deaths caused from bacteria of poorly prepared animal protein. The process of cooking meat is used to destroy the bacteria that our body can't digest. Yes we do have canines, big ******* deal. So do gorillas, which happen to be vegetarian animals (aside from bugs, which i assume you don't need canines to eat).

Just because you have something doesn't mean it is used. Like a lot of people who are under educated on the subject of nutrition decide not to use their brains even though they have one. They prefer to blindly follow previous generations no matter if they are right or wrong just because it is the easier thing to do. Then they use news articles instead of research articles to back up their argument. Which saddens me because let's face it, anyone can write a news article.

Why in the first place did early man decide, "hmm, I think Ill track and kill this Deer for food" when all he could do is just munch on some berries and grass?
Predatory animals have eyes in the front of their heads for focusing on prey (ex. Humans, Tiger, Polar Bear) As common prey have eyes on the side of their heads to have a greater range of vision. (Ex. Goat, Deer, Buffalo).
You can eat whatever you want, I'm just saying that Vegans/Vegetarians are the unnatural ones.
User avatar #29 to #28 - bigbeaufort (01/01/2013) [-]
Don't speak of unnatural and vegetarians/vegans in the same sentence. Please tell me what is natural about this (graphic morbid content, you have been warned.)

This sort of thing is common place just to try and keep up with demands of meat consumption. And yes, that is Alec Baldwin.

Treating it like its some sort of horror movie. People are becoming too sensitive these days.
No wonder this only has 890 views, nobody cares.
What good are chickens for besides food and eggs? They can't hunt, they can't smell out people or drugs.
Common prey.

I just find it funny how there are so many animal right activists for cute little fluffy animals but when it comes to the "less desirables" people just say " **** it". What good are humans anyway, all we are good for is being lazy as **** , not doing anything for our selves. Sitting on the internet all day, arguing against logic just because we are stuck in our old as **** caveman ways of "let's not change anything"
User avatar #36 to #33 - duvallwhitey (01/01/2013) [-]
"Less Desirables" wouldn't be right
You saw that video, were moving that meat faster than Sonic the Hedgehog
We desire the hell out of tender juicy pork loin, chicken, etc.
Why change now? If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
And if you don't like it, go eat a tree. (And only a tree)
User avatar #40 to #36 - bigbeaufort (01/01/2013) [-]
Yes, less desirable as in less attractive. The only thing stopping you from popping your dog in the microwave or making a kitty custard is the fact that you find them cute. Why pick and choose, since we are such top predators let's just eat every ******* thing with meat. Ohhh how about we eat humans too? It is in essence the same thing... the nutritional value of a human is rather high.
User avatar #48 to #40 - wanicochil (01/01/2013) [-]
Why pick and choose?

Err

Because we can?

And cannibalism is illegal, if you didn't know, taking of human life
User avatar #50 to #48 - bigbeaufort (01/01/2013) [-]
So you are saying let's be ignorant for the sake of being ignorant.

And oh come on, why don't we just wait for people to die and eat them then. Hell it will save on space in cemeteries if we are eating all the would-be occupants
User avatar #53 to #50 - wanicochil (01/01/2013) [-]
How is picking to keep a pet ignorant? Are you retarded? "Hurr durrr let's cook this animal that I have kept as a pet and have a bond to because reasons"

Because liek, all teh animals totally keep their dead and eat them when they are hungry, look at those lions, eating that dead lion because they are hungry

Eating your own species, isn't a common practice in many things
#35 to #33 - wanicochil (01/01/2013) [-]
>Being lazy as ****
>Most technological advance and the most smart species on earth

So, what's that about logic?

What have you done to contribute to the most technologically advanced species on the earth other than post a comment and a related gif??
User avatar #47 to #38 - wanicochil (01/01/2013) [-]
What have you done apart from bitch and moan about "omg eating animals is wrong qq"
Exclude that I am indeed 18 and only really starting life, nothing yet, which your argument is horrible

We were not talking about individual cases, no where did we talk about it once

We are talking species as a whole, and we are on top for a reason

What I have done is helped people (family and friends) who have health related illnesses actually increase their overall quality of life by helping them make the change to vegetarianism. On top of that for each person that becomes a vegetarian that is reducing the amount of animals needed to be produced for consumption. Per person that is 10 chicken (minimum), 100 lbs of seafood, 2/3 of a cow, 6/10 of a pig, almost a whole turkey along with other miscellaneous animals. My mother for instance in the past 4 months has lost 15 lbs, and actually went from being pre-diabetic to no symptoms of diabetes at all.

How's that for being productive
User avatar #52 to #49 - wanicochil (01/01/2013) [-]
Err, ok, awesome, round of applaud for you, you helped people, congrats I guess?

User avatar #6 to #4 - megashot (01/01/2013) [-]
well you're mostly right, exept that the reason we can't handle raw meat anymore is simply because of evolution. Humans are omnivores and did eat raw meat in the early primate state

GSU... Grambling State? Georgia State? Georgia Southern?

Regardless of whichever it is, it's nothing to be proud of. And I'm from Georgia, so it's not like I'm just bashing the South.
