That bone-chilling, soul-shattering feel

I know it's basically an air raid siren, but I for one always associate it with impending nuclear attack
Let's face, the 60s kids who had nuclear drills with this blasting from speakers did NOT have a pretty childhood

As soon as I heard the sirens, it made me think of Silent Hill.

My dad was in middle school at the time of the cold war, and he had to have drills for these, where they all sat under there desks. He diddnt realize it until high school, but he told me, "The **** will a desk do to protect me from a nuke".

I just opened my windows, attached my laptop to my speakers, and blasted this at top volume for about three minutes.

I regret nothing.

We had these a lot back in 1999 when nato bombed us.. I was 7 at the time and believe me -that sound can never be forgotten.
I didn't quite understand it back then, but my parents were really scared.
I lived in an apartment block, and beneath each block was a bomb shelter.Since we lived near an electrical substation we feared americans would be bomb it and accidentally hit us, the precision strikes were not really that precise back then and they even took out one hospital, a chinese embassy, and some apartment blocks so a lot of innocent people were killed.
I didn't have to go to school tho

Lived in Kuwait during the 2003 invasion and these ******* were going off literally every 30 minutes. Every time the Iraqis launched any kind of missile, every siren in the country would go off until radar could tell where it was heading.

There are sirens that go off like everyday. Its not the same exact sound, but pretty damn close... Every time I hear it, I like **** myself..

I had chills hearing this. Simply because Sirens indicate that **** is about to get really bad. Often you won't know what which makes it even scarier.

The amount of **** that fills my pants every time the volunteer fire fighting station near my town plays this siren to call back all the fire-fighters is equal to the amount of **** that would fill my pants if I had just been handed a bar of laxatives after not eating for a week.

i hear sirens go off occasionally near my house, probably because there's an old radar base a few miles down the road
