Sometimes I feel like I'm the only SK Reader that liked Cell.

That book was great!

. . . Hello?

You haven't read and then watched Carrie have you?

The film was a massive disappointment.
User avatar #49 to #43 - bopeepwoody ONLINE (05/22/2012) [-]

The green mile was spot on too - although not scary. Dreamcatcher was kind of disappointing, the stand would have been better if not made in the 80s 1408 was improved and easily one of my favorites and I'm really looking forward to Cell.

**** yeah Stephen King.

H.P Lovecraft ***** on Stephen King
#102 to #7 - uberbunk (03/13/2014) [-]
He is a fundamental source of horror. But his writing is too sophisticated to be enjoyable for the masses. Stephen King's writing is simple, and he is a master of character development. Unlike the awkward and mentally unstable Lovecraft. A master of horror, and of science fiction, and one of stephen kings main inspirations (I actually am pretty sure It is based on Cthulhu, I'll explain if you care, won't if you don't), and I love reading some Lovecraft ($20 complete works bonded leather binding at Barnes and Noble), but Stephen King is easier to read, making him more enjoyable to the masses. I would not say either is better. Just different kinds for different times. (For those who are thinking of taking up Lovecraft, I highly suggest a pocket dictionary. Or unabridged. Your call.)

Okay, king is good but David Lynch is where it's really scary. I's like a hamburger vs a steak, lynch always wins

Until you watch My Soul To Take & want to tear out your own eyes from boredom.

Also, IT is ********** . Reading it now
User avatar #19 to #12 - AnonymousWraith (05/22/2012) [-]
I haven't read IT, but the book is probably better than the movie. Sheer disappointment. I enjoy watching Tim Curry too much to be scared of him, but it just bugged me.
#22 to #19 - daleoo (05/22/2012) [-]
The book's a LOT scarier than the film. The film leaves out a lot of details about the deaths that the book includes. It's a damn good book though.
User avatar #25 to #22 - AnonymousWraith (05/22/2012) [-]
Maybe it's just me. I have the strangest logic. I'll watch Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street, (and those aren't even that scary to begin with), and a bunch of other scary movies and horror films, but I won't be phased by them. But I was HORRIFED after watching the Matrix and Species.
But I AM a girl, so I guess it's normal? WOMAN LOGIC.
#27 to #25 - daleoo (05/22/2012) [-]
Nope, I'm the same. Watched pretty much every mainstream horror movie, and wasn't fazed by a single one of them. I watch some weak sci-fi movie, and suddenely I'm scarred for life.
User avatar #64 to #27 - AnonymousWraith (05/22/2012) [-]
Oh... so that's how you correctly spell "fazed." Well, it's good to know that there's other people like that. hah
