of course it didn't die, Aussies are immune to death by machines.

Which is why Australia has never been invaded...
>tanks and planes can't kill anyone.
>Infantry is too costly nowadays.
>Nukes are viewed by the UN as a method of extremely poor taste.

And besides, they'd all transform into huge spiders anyways if we COULD kill them right?

common misconception. Aussies don't turn into spiders. They are in league with them, however.

Aussies are immune to machines, spiders aren't.

Spiders (funnel web especially) are excellent at taking down infantry, however they are easily annihilated by mass damage weapons, like bombs.

Between the two, no one really invades.
Also, ONCE, Malaysian "colonists" tried to invade. The Aussies and Spiders had already made their NAP and the Spiders were considering becoming allies.

The Malaysian independent infantry swarmed the beaches. Immediately, the Aussies jumped into the spiders nests and informed the Spiders of the situation.

less than 30 seconds later the spiders started FLOWING out of their tunnels and nests.
5 minutes later, they had the biggest feast of their lives.

Due to only one group being visible at any given time it is understandable how the idea that Aussies can transform got around.

Ever since then, the Aussies and Spiders have been close allies.
