I can understand why people get pissed about how soccer players flop and put on an act, but, in all honesty, why wouldn't they? If they flop and the ref rewards them with a free kick, then **** yeah. Just like in basketball where they flop, or football where the wide receivers put on an act to draw a pass interference penalty, it's all in an effort to win. Obviously this dude getting his ear touched is a little bitch, but in other cases, it makes perfect sense to try and get the call. A wise man once told me, "If you're not cheatin', you're not tryin'."

If you think about it, as professional athletes, the're technically entertainers. This is just my opinion, but they should play to entertain the audience, not just to win. I'd rather they play it out and put on a good show of athleticism instead of try to squeeze out any amount of points they can, regardless of how boring and stupid it is, or how much more money a win will add to their already disgustingly overinflated paychecks.

But, sports fans are retarded to begin with, and complain whenever their favorite team loses.

With all due respect, that's a sweeping generalization of sports fans being retarded. But while athletes are entertainers, it's also their job. Often times the team's success affects how much the athlete is paid. So, I guess what I'm trying to get at is if a player can bring positives to the team, he will get paid more, so he can blow it on strippers, alcohol, and baby mamas. And one of those positives could be drawing a call in a late game situation. Anyway, that's just what I'm thinking.

Obviously success affects their pay. When they take a knee in (american) football, or pull this dead fish crap in (rest of the world) football, it'll preserve their lead/give them a chance to get ahead, but it's cheap as hell and should be against the rules. If someone did this in a game I was playing in with them, I'd kick them in the face and leave, regardless of what team they're on.
