If she's scared of spiders point it out, then take your shoe off and squish it like a manly man.

< MFW I am studying to be an entomologist for the use of a spiders venom as an eco-friendly pesticide that can virtually wipe out pesky pests without causing any other issues in the environment.

By the way, can you name another creature that could potentially kill you with a single bite that could coexist in the same environment as you that also will eradicate other insect life, without ever actually causing any trouble with you?

I love spiders. By the way, just for you, The venom of the Australian funnel-web spider (pictured to the left) can kill a person in less than an hour, and its fangs can bite right through a shoe. Have a pleasant day.

I will never understand the fear of spiders.

learning time!
Despite its common name, the bird-eating spider rarely eats birds. Occasionally, hatchling birds will be taken from nests on the ground, however, the bulk of the diet comprises insects, lizards, frogs, and other spiders. Although the fangs are long and robust and can easily penetrate human skin, the bite is not deadly. The venom is quite toxic, however, and bites may cause severe pain, nausea and profuse sweating.

I'm still not happy that thing eats frogs.
User avatar #51 to #50 - mysticpichu (12/07/2012) [-]
rather encouter a spider than a heyna pack
User avatar #52 to #51 - Hreidmar (12/07/2012) [-]
True. My fear of spiders is irrational, I recognize that. But I'd rather see a picture or a movie about a hyena pack than a spider.
