And then I realize that there are only a couple metal shows and/or festivals every year in my country.

...Download Festival in England...? No? Anyone?

No, I guess not. Everyone hates download in Europe because apparently us brits aren't br00tal enough.
User avatar #18 to #16 - teseus (05/01/2013) [-]
Yeah, rub it in my face. I wanted to go to Wacken this year but it would cost about 300 euros without tickets or any kind of food... I can't get my hands on that kind of money unfortunately. East Europe sucks when it comes to paychecks.
User avatar #40 to #18 - metalmind (05/01/2013) [-]
I had the money, but didn't get tickets!

I'm from Canada. My favorite bands always announce a "North American Tour!" And they hit up everywhere in the states, and then Toronto/Vancouver from Canada and that's it. Every damn time. Seriously, we have more than just 2 cities.

When Billy Talent released their most recent album, they toured the UK first in which I got the privilege in seeing. Do they even tour much in Canada?

now say you're sorry for your attitude
#99 to #14 - anon (05/01/2013) [-]
I know the feeling. In Scotland, if a band announce a UK tour it usually means London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Cardiff. If they do actually realise there's more to the UK than England and Cardiff, all it usually adds on is Belfast and Glasgow.
#116 to #99 - anon (05/01/2013) [-]
but... what is it like a 20 minute drive over there? your country is tiny.
#114 to #14 - anon (05/01/2013) [-]
well US has 311 million people and you have 34 and they are all hiding in their own little igloos sooooooo go figure. it's hard to play a show when your hands are frozen solid. god damn frostbacks coming down here and taking all the jobs. jk i love maple syrup and brian adams.

I'm from Vancouver. When my favourite bands announce a "North American" tour, they only play in Toronto and Ottawa.

I have a reverse version of that feel.

And even when they come to Europe, it's nowhere near me...and I'm kinda broke.

MFW i work for delta and i fly first class to europe for under $50
#111 - arandomanon (05/01/2013) [-]
I love this post... because, since Europe is a ******* whole country and we can easily reach every ******* where....
I technically live in Europe and it's impossible for me to go to anywhere of those shows because I'd spend hundreds and hundreds of euros just to ******* get to the country my favourite bands are playing.
#112 to #111 - anon (05/01/2013) [-]

User avatar #215 to #162 - arandomanon (05/02/2013) [-]
Even with ryanair, it costs way too much
#217 to #215 - unijaw (05/02/2013) [-]
Fair enough. If I get flybe flight It costs me £200+ with Ryanair its aruodn £50 + £70 train ticket
User avatar #218 to #217 - arandomanon (05/02/2013) [-]
It costs me 200€ WITH Ryanair. It cost me from here to, for example, Austria like 400€.

#121 to #117 - arandomanon (05/01/2013) [-]
Everytime I read that thing, I kind of nod to myself. And I'm not even Dutch. But I wish I was. Or Scandinavian.
User avatar #123 to #121 - wowimbored (05/01/2013) [-]
Just wondering, what do you mean by 'technically' living in Europe?
#130 to #123 - arandomanon (05/01/2013) [-]
I live in Canary Islands. It's the last remain of ancient Spanish overseas empire and we are physically in Africa (next to Morocco). So, I technically live in Europe... but not exactly.
User avatar #134 to #130 - wowimbored (05/01/2013) [-]
You should come over here. We have many freedoms.

Sandy and hot. Yes, like 40 years ago or 50 can't remember right nnow. I don't know much about Egypt but it looks like things are kind of ****** up

Silly me, I hate the sun.
User avatar #223 to #221 - arandomanon (05/02/2013) [-]
If you liked the sun, yes it would. But since you hate it, I wouldn't recommend you to come here. Unless it's in winter. And still, there are a lot of chances of getting a **** load of sun

Yea, you're right... But I'm sure if you lived in North America you'd say the same thing as this guy. The meme would look a little dumb if it went : All in Sweden, Belgium, London, Finland, Armenia etc....
#219 to #122 - unijaw (05/02/2013) [-]
Exactly. We get pretty decent ones in the UK but as good as our music industry is its got **** all metal. Greatest thing out of England now is Frank Turner rock/punk every song is ace and he still performs in flippin fields.
#128 to #122 - arandomanon (05/01/2013) [-]
I guess you're right. But, however, there are very cool shows in America too. But in my country it's pretty unusual for a cool band to come here. But the thing is that I live in the Canary Islands, wich are basically in Africa so I even ******* can't go to the mainland (Spain) without paying a **** load of money. I hate this place.
#161 to #111 - anon (05/02/2013) [-]
The problem is that these shows happen in multiple European countries while we get nothing of the caliber of the European shows.
