Christopher Lee is the most badass person ever born. Been in over 200 films and still acting, and of course the metal album. I bet he'll be over 100 by the time he retires

It's better than his first one, from what I've heard. Though I love the fact that he woke up one day and went, "I'm going to make an album where I'm ******* Charlemagne."
User avatar #17 - dracosjaws (05/29/2013) [-]
Its closer to opera. Its not heavy but its metal enough that he won a golden god award for it. He called it symphonic metal.

Please stop being one of those jackasses who makes up a million sub-genres for metal... Metal is metal. bottom line
User avatar #20 to #19 - asslickingood ONLINE (05/29/2013) [-]
But Christopher Lee is the one that called it symphonic metal because he ******* can

Besides, accurate categorization is what separates us from the blacks.

User avatar #36 to #19 - techketzer (05/29/2013) [-]
That is horribly inaccurate.
Assigning genres and subgenres is appropriate and practical.
User avatar #103 to #36 - xtrmbragnrytz ONLINE (05/30/2013) [-]
While a few are the same, saying you listen to post norwegian symphonic rapmetal core is ********
User avatar #106 to #103 - techketzer (05/30/2013) [-]
Overly specific mayhap, but as long as it's an accurate description, it's not " ******** ."
#28 to #19 - nirvanaishdude ONLINE (05/29/2013) [-]
Really? REALLY? Metal = Metal?

So we're all supposed to agree that Rammstein is the exact same genre as some "true necr00kvlt" norwegian black metal band? Or the same as bands like Aborted and such?

That Gwar is the very same thing as Saxon? That Iron Maiden and Kataklysm are the same?

**** you.

LOUD NOISES. (This is very, very accurate here! Thanks for this pun!)
User avatar #39 to #28 - ebperik (05/29/2013) [-]
It's like saying a Dmajor chord is different from a D chord
User avatar #38 to #28 - ebperik (05/29/2013) [-]
Yes, they are the same genre. What is the point of making a new genre for every band that doesn't sound excactly the same as the last. Just because it's not the very same thing doesn't mean it's a different genre/sub-genre. It's as if playing an Am chord instead of the A the guy next to you played, qualifies you to be in an entirely different genre.
I hate people like you
**** you, and your unnecessary rudeness. I'm ashamed to even listen to the same genre of music as you
Gorgoroth is superior black metal band
#40 to #38 - basilbrush (05/29/2013) [-]
At the end of your comment you said "Black metal band".
This makes your whole argument null and void. As you acknowledged that there are different genres of metal.

**** man, my comments are messing up for some reason. Third time's a charm
I'm not denying the fact that sub-genres exist. I'm just saying that they are useless and get created for nothing.

Brilliant how you negated your own point. But I agree, I was being too rude, and I apologise for that.

I love having sub-genre's. Makes festivals easier to organize. Then again, there is a point where it gets silly.
(Gorgoroth is not superior btw!)
User avatar #105 to #104 - ebperik (05/30/2013) [-]
I didn't negate my own point. I didn't ever say that sub-genres within metal don't exist.
