"Do fast"
"Do fast bitch"
"Do fast bitch, get ****** "
"Do fast bitch, get ****** "
"Do fast bitch, get ****** "
"Do fast bitch, get ****** , and my dick is hard."

hast is a conjigation of haben, used when describing someone in the second person (i,e. he/she/it.). hassen is the root word of hasst.
User avatar #239 to #8 - zombifier ONLINE (12/31/2013) [-]
the song is a play on words

hasst meaning to hate
hast meaning to have

What's the source for this? It looks like it might be Puella Magi Madoka Magica but I'm not sure.

It's Kill La Kill, like jbboys says. And trust me, the show is nothing like Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

"You have asked me and I have said nothing", no? I learned this in my German class.

so, answer the age old question:

Is it "you have" or "you hate"?
User avatar #194 to #123 - timeparadox (12/31/2013) [-]
This is the intention of the song. When he sings "Du hast mich / Du hasst mich" you don't know whether it's have or hate until he finally says "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt" which translates to "You HAVE asked me and I said nothing"

You might say it's a pun more or less at least...
User avatar #253 to #194 - ipartywithpedobear (12/31/2013) [-]

i'm german, but never learned german because my grandfather wasn't aloud to learn it as a child, since he lived in southern illinois during WWII, and all the germans weren't aloud to speak german.

In the english version they say "You, you hate, you hate me." Rammstein-Du Hast-English Version

translated song won't sound right if proper lyrics were used, gotta change em up a bit so it still flows
#213 to #160 - infektio (12/31/2013) [-]
That is because "to hate" translates to "hassen" and "to have" translates to "haben". In the german language, verbs are conjugated, depending on who's doing what. This happens in english too but it's not always so clear; I am, you are, he/she/it is.

Now, in the german language, "you hate" translates to "du hasst" and "you have" translates to "du hast". Rammstein slipped this riddle into their song "du hast". They are impossible to tell apart because they're pronounced exactly the same.

I'm not even sure whether he's saying "hasst" or "hast", but because he sings "hate" in the english version, I'm going to assume "du hasst" is what they were going for. This is likely to cause a ******* of confusion. Picture random

Is hasst even right in any circumstance? I thought that haben was irregular and that it was:
Ich habe
Du hast
Er/es/sie hat
User avatar #36 to #30 - seras (12/31/2013) [-]
Yes, "hasst" is second and third person singular of "hassen", meaning "to hate".
You hate: Du hasst.
he/she/it hates: er/sie/es hasst.
User avatar #48 to #36 - nustix (12/31/2013) [-]
I guess when you are talking about all words, I was just looking at different forms of haben since hassen is out of context in this sentence. I was just wondering whether my german is really this bad. (I got a 4,5 on a writing essay)
#146 to #48 - anonexplains (12/31/2013) [-]
It is not completely out of context as this song is supposed to be open to interpretation (listen to the English version, altough not so good it explains my theory)
User avatar #10 to #9 - rockmanfan ONLINE (12/30/2013) [-]
isnt it normally spelled with an esset?

he is saying "you asked me and i said nothing."
#32 to #13 - hemming (12/31/2013) [-]
In the english version they sing "You hate me" instead..
Explain that **** Mr. Nazi
User avatar #152 to #32 - acirikis (12/31/2013) [-]
"You hate me to say, and I did not obey"
While the german version says "You have asked me and I said nothing"
It was incorrectly translated to rhyme and sound better, but it's still wrong.
