all i could think was "don't aim for the head you idiot! don't hold the rifle like that! what kind of hunter are you!?"

I know a bit about how to handle a gun, but I'm no hunter so I'm unaware of where you should aim

As a non-hunter, the head seems logical enough for most mammals. Why's that a bad shot?

when it comes to dosile weed eating animals such as a moose, deer or elk. You should refrain fraim aiming at the head(i got a hunting license so i should know). This is because in contrast to humans where most of our heads are merely a container for our massive brains. Animals such as mooses have relativly small brains. Also their skulls are much thicker than ours, increasing the chance of richoceing the bullet around without even killing the animal. When hunting for larger prey with a rifle you should always aim for the heart(usually placed right behind the front thighs of the creature. Of course if you are hunting smaller prey such as birds you might as well just take out a shotgun and aim in a general direction.

Thank you for your informed input, much appreciated.
Now if I find myself, somehow, needing to kill deer or moose, I know where to fire.
Have a thumb, good sir
