The thing is, we are not getting dumber, we are getting more aware of how dumb we have always been. You know that scene on Monty python were they judge if a woman is a witch by checking if she is lighter than a duck? That's only a small stretch from what really happened. It was completely normal to see trials against animals accused of been possessed back then, and it's even theorized that the black plague took such a huge proportion is because cats, snakes and even owls were killed in huge scale for no other reason besides "they be of the devil! That's what the priest said!". Even before that, the Roman empire used the politic of pani et circenses and the people accepted, desiring more to have good and entertainment than a better life. In the 50s It was common sense that smoking was a health habit, in the 80s parents were sure rock was the devil song, ever since the 90s every year there's a new dumbass claim the world is gonna end and it's tottally gonna happen this time guys.

Look at the technological advanced we achieved. In the last 100 years mankind advanced more then in the last 1000 years. The problem is that it's easier to hear the screaming chimps throwing **** around, and the main media ******* love to show that, making It hard to see past your average Joe, or worst, some dumbass who wants to launch itself in space to prove the earth is flat.

I am quite sure - lack of critical thinking in a substantial portion among liberals is the direct result of this process. There definitely is a leading elite among them, but a big chunk is simply idiots who tag along and are made to believe they are equally smart, so they spread their own subjective rendering of the idea bubble they are a part to.
So called "red-pilled" people in my opinion are no better, however they often deep down in principle stick to the idea that they are not authorities in some issue and thus give their voice to someone from elite (scientists, their leaders, logicians etc.).

99% of the people who believe in the big bang dont understand what it actually means nor can they understand the explanation behind it. The Scientists behind it could just be pulling everyone's leg and nobody would notice because they can always say you are not smart enough to understand it. Now im not saying that this is what's happening, im just pointing out that those who believe in the big bang just because scientists say so are not any different than those who believed a cat is possessed just because the priest said so. They believe because they have faith in the person saying it, not because they really know or understand.100 years from now a new truth could be discovered that makes people of today look like morons because they believed in the big bang.

Eugenics is a lot uglier than what I'm talking about

It gave WAY more weight to genetics than environment, more or less saying "we should commit X crimes against humanity against Y group of peoples because of Z genetic deficiencies they present".

I'm not proposing genocide, I'm just stating the facts. Your genes constrain the extent to which you can express specific traits. If they didn't, humans would be INCREDIBLY varied. We'd have extra arms and legs and all kinds of ****.

Now I'm open to conversations about the extent to which intelligence is biologically constrained, but to argue that it isn't biologically constrained at all is ******* stupid. I'm sorry.

That's like saying height isn't biologically constrained. Boy I sure wish that was true, but my hobbit genes made sure that barring issues of malnutrition, I was not going to get much taller than my father.

Just because I think there's a significant genetic constraint on height doesn't mean I think short people should be sterilized lol. Does that make sense to you?

I don't understand how your cute reply really proves me wrong though. Also there's a real ugly thing that happens in the scientific community whenever science comes out that disputes the narrative of "'everyone is exactly the same, all that needs to be changed is in the environment". The funding disappears. No one wants to hear that there are biological differences between different races

It's a fair fear to have. Acknowledging a difference is the first step to establishing prejudice for those differences. I know that I'm not the average person on this topic. I can look at the African American population, see that they perform routinely a full standard deviation worse than the average when controlling for income disparity and other social elements (i.e. only comparing rich white kids to rich black kids and poor white kids to poor black kids and comparing multiple different ethnic and racial groups) and conclude "yeah, there's probably something genetic going on there but they make up for it elsewhere". Others might say "lol ******* are dumb ship them back to Africa". So I don't mind the silence in the literature on the topic since it would likely just cause disharmony if there was no silence.

But at the end of the day I feel bad for the fact that we DO have groups who just don't perform well intellectually competing in a highly intellect driven economy. We're forcing fish to fly. I feel like there's got to be a better way to operationalize our human capital...Especially as society demands greater and greater specialization.

Then we mapped the goddamn human genome and no sign of "gene of inteligence". There's even a classic story about some women who did artificial insemination using the semen of a guy who had a high IQ so their kids would have it too and guess what? No ******* einsteins, my friend! Even IF the genes could cause a actually alteration in the general inteligence of a individual the effects would be reaaally tame. But ****, i guess there was some really ******* smart plebeians in the old rome that passed some genes until the dark ages and then again until today so the poor, stupid low class civilians could breed a smart kid once a in whille, right? I'm talking about ******* facts in here! You wanna say genes could affect inteligence? I could accept some influence in the type of inteligence, like a kid having good artistic inteligence because of it, or good logical inteligence, or good spatial inteligence, etc... But affecting the general IQ? Yeah, that's why we have entire families of genius and... oh wait, we don't!

There's rarely a "gene" for most traits. Most traits are a complex interaction between thousands of genes being expressed in unique ways. This is how we can share 97% of our genetics with our nearest primate cousins and not act like primates. Gene expression is variable.

I've already said it before, the research does exist... but the minute they found something that disconfirmed what you think is true, the funding was pulled and peer review buried it.

Establishment science is just as capable of dogma as any other institution. It's more resistant to it than most, but when the smell of "eugenics" is found - you can bet the scientific establishment will shut it down.

I don't like eugenics either. I'm okay with this science being shut down. But there is definitely a genetic component to intelligence. It's absoluely ridiculous how you can say homosexuality, height, eye colour, likelihood of developing cancer, and dozens of other traits are all "predicted" by genetics - but you can't say "general intelligence is predicted by by genetics". Like what, our brains are somehow immune to the same hereditary issues the rest of our organs are subject to?

You're blinding yourself to reality because you're afraid of ideology. I'm not a nazi. I don't want caste systems. Hell, I'm totally fine with the general public not understanding what I understand. I'm not some crazy prophet on the hill. But facts are facts.

Now you think the facts support you, and you can do that.. But the fact that your most recent studies are from the nazis in the 1930's and from a case study which doesn't prove anything are evidence enough that your "science" is weak.

You decry that sometimes smart people have stupid kids and sometimes stupid people have smart kids. I'm talking about average rates. Every time you have a kid you're rolling dice. EVERYONE can have a retard kid. EVERYONE can have a brilliant kid. The relative rates of brilliance and retardation are skewed though. Stupid people will have 10 kids and 1 or 2 will be smart. Smart people will have 3 kids and 2 will be smart.

I'm not saying that we exist in watersheds either. Stupid people can pair up with smart people and their kids will inherit both of their pedigrees.

What stupid people generally lack in intelligence they make up in other areas. It's all about resource distribution in your body.

I'll be frank, I have zero clue how your response has anything to do with my statement. You were claiming we have "genes" for X traits. I argued there's rarely just one gene, that most traits are a result of multiple complex genetic relationships. What few we have properly mapped are not exhaustive of all the possible gene expressions. Do you seriously think we have completely figured out what every gene does?

you are wrong. It was not Trumps outrageousness what made him win, Hillary Clinton is what made Trump win. Every single time she or anyone pro Hillary opened their mouth all they could talk about was Trump, while Trump himself rarely mentioned Hillary. 100% of Hillary's campaign was not Pro-Hillary, It was Anti-Trump while 100% of Trump's campaign was not Anti-Hillary, it was Pro-Trump. But we would also have the chance to concentrate on literature, on arts, on philosophy, on everything that bring the human race back to god (in regard to "every day we stray further from god"). I cant ask for a differentiated discussion on the one side and then believe all Trumpers are racists. That would be stupid.

I think one of the biggest problems you are facing is how polarized this topic is. Clinton=good, Trump=Racist vs. Clinton=corrupt, Trump=Savior. Nothing else seems to be possible any more. That made you (as a trump voter) a racist and the clinton supporters terrorism-lovers.
I dont believe Clinton is good. I dont believe Trump is (only) bad. I dont have to care for your inner policies, but i highly care for your foreign policies. At least because you are too big to not have a responsibility towards the rest of the world. And thats where i would prefer not especially Clinton but somebody who knows how to treat partners or even future partners. Example: Trump made Kim Jong Un the rocket man. Before... that guy was just a funny, small, stupid man the world was laughing about. Trumps ranting on twitter made the situation a serious one. And this was SO unnecessary. He created a threat (or at least a bigger one than before). Or, as Kim Jong Un might surely know, America would beat the **** out of North Korea, Trump showed him his place. But both arent very good policies.
When you know you could beat the **** out of this lil gangsta trying to rob you, any decent person would be like "meh. Go away, i dont need your stupid wannabe-attitudes". You would not start a fight because you are the Alpha (like america (and russia; and germany, economically) are in the world) and Alphas dont start a fight over their own throne. But for whatever undiplomatic reasons thats what Trump does (in my opinion, of course) . And thats, plain and simple, bad.
Another example: Trump has been attacking his partners. Which in the end means that new coalitions are formed (and its a process in europe already) which destabilizes the given circumstances in the world.
Another example (which Trump didnt start but worsens(?): America and his partners started a war some decades ago, all over the middle east. The other side fighting back is "terrorism". You cant free the women of afghanistan and then say "but dont run free in our direction, go see our partners". Freeing the women is especially funny as they had at least a 25% quota of women in the government before. We dont. And they dont, any more. We did a great job there.
Anyways, leaving the partners alone with the successions is not very diplomatic. But hey, lets make America great agin. Do that. But without me. Your partner. Because i dont care about you wanting to be great again. And i go and find new partners who dont want me to help them feel great again, making me your slave, not your partner.

But im sorry. Regarding your answer you arent that polarized and you might surely agree on the points i just gave. Making you admit "yeah, hes not very diplomatic" doesnt mean that you could change anything about it. Nothing to win for me there (especially after i learned some or a lot of people felt like they could only vote for pest or cholera further down in this comment section).

So let me please remind you that i am discussing because i want to get more opinions on a topic, not because i want to win (i am old already so i dont need to win anything anymore). So let me phrase my ranting: How do you and the people around you feel about the diplomacy Trump is using?

Oh, and i still believe not only you but we all are facing "idiocracy" in the coming decades. Politicians all around the world learned from Obama so they started multimedia campaigns. And they will unfortunately learn from Trump too (phrased far too simple but you might get my point): The loudest wins because he gets media coverage.

If I could take a joke too seriously for a second, I want to know what it is that makes people laugh when they see a man get hit in the groin while many of those same people find any simulated violence against women in video game, movie, or television to be reprehensible and too terrible to depict. One one hand you have an actual human being being caused actual pain by being hit somewhere needed to have children. You can rupture a testicle and die, getting hit in the nuts can destroy your life or end it altogether. On the other hand you've got an actress pretending to get hurt in some way for dramatic effect, she isn't being harmed in any way and is entirely safe the whole time. Yet the first one's funny while the second is horrifying. I just think it's part of the anti-male programming we all have, male pain is irrelevant and male lives are dispensable, it's in our laws, it's what we teach our kids, it's part of the fabric of civilization. I have a two year old nephew and I'm growing increasingly concerned by the world he's going to inherit, a world where he's not valued and his safety is not a priority to anyone, a world where his life can be destroyed on a whim and nobody will defend him. It's scary stuff. yeah I know, it's a joke not a dick, blah blah blah, but I can't help thinking about this when I see people laugh at nut shots, it's ****** up
