Why is there never any visible point in things with a kung-fu action Jesus main character where the villains realize that they're fighting a kung-fu action Jesus? If your enemy has a long and perfect win streak against better baddies than you, I don't think you're going to win regardless of whatever gimmick or scheme you're packing.

He thinks he can beat kung-fu action Jesus because his gimmick is that he is secretly the creator of the game and thus can actually make himself invincible. He does beat Kung-fu action Jesus in this scene by doing exactly that. BS I know.

I think in many cases the badguys are overly confident in their skills/gimics since in their view they have a long wining streak as well. In Sword art online Heathcliff had never been touched by any opponent he's ever faced and as far as he knew he had God Mode activated so who would expect some kid to actually hurt him?
