It was fun. .. In the German version you get a "Game Over" screen if one of your bullets hit a civilian, while all your fellows shoot everybody.

I'm not basing it on one school overreaction. I'm giving an example of many occurences. More examples is like you have to be 21 to buy alcohol, strict with tobacco +18 policy, ******** of other rules at school and guards, hallpasses required (I don't actually know if that's true or not).

Also, I have heard of other totally ****** up reasons why someone has gotten expelled from schools, went to jail and tons of other overreactions.

User avatar #120 to #119 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]
It's got an excellent singleplayer campaign with tight gameplay and a truly compelling plot. However, it's kind of short, clocking in for me at 5 hours on the hardest difficulty. It does have pretty decent replayability, featuring four endings which change based not only on the choice you make at the end, but choices you make during the campaign. The multiplayer is **** and not worth mentioning. All in all, I'd pay anywhere between $20 and $30 for it.
User avatar #151 to #120 - BmanX (05/06/2013) [-]
Actually, your choices during the game don't affect the ending at all. I think they show some flashback and stuff, but the ending you get is based solely on what you do at the end. That said, this is definitely an awesome game. Just finished beating it on the hardest difficulty last week.
User avatar #152 to #151 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]
The main choice that matters is what decision you make during the situation with the hanging hostages under the highway. That will change what flashbacks and dialogue you get during your ending cutscene. It's true that your specific ending is determined mostly by the choice you make right at the end, but it is affected by other decisions.
User avatar #155 to #152 - BmanX (05/06/2013) [-]
Yeah, but not really. You either shoot yourself (or get him to shoot you) or him, and if you choose him, what you do during the epilogue determines one of the last 3 endings. The actual ending itself isn't affected by other choices.
User avatar #157 to #155 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]

At the end of a mission towards the end of the game, you're walking up to a helicopter with a hard drive you just got, and Shepard shoots you in the face and then kills Ghost, and throws you in a trench and lights everyone on fire. Why?

(Also, I thought you're character for that part was from the SAS, which would make him British.)

I might be wrong, but I think Shepard wanted to continue the war, to increase the army, seeing as to how he lost so many in CoD4. The module was needed to find Makarov. Ghost and the other members that were there knew that he had been given the module, but Shepard could claim that it was never there. You also find out he is not your ally right there, and with, I think Price, saying not to trust him, that it was a trap

You are not talking about FUBAR dificulty man... i beat it at veteran on like 4hs, but FUBAR is ******* imposible. you get killed with one shot the helicopter scene in the museum took me over 50 tries.
It's a lot like COD but with a great plot as he said.
i've played it 3 times single player, feel guilty no matter what you do.
User avatar #153 to #121 - BmanX (05/06/2013) [-]
I heard that helicopter part was hard but I somehow did it in one go on FUBAR (though not the shootout leading up to that). It just refilled my health, so to speak, at certain points and I never had any trouble with it because of that.

I don't know but on FUBAR, did it one go. Don't exactly remember how it went on Normal and Veteran, though I think I died a few times because I didn't know where to go. I guess I just got lucky. That said, I had enough troubles elsewhere on FUBAR. I abandoned the game for months because I couldn't do the beginning of Chapter 6 on FUBAR. Came back last week, and did it in two tries. -_-
User avatar #186 to #167 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]

User avatar #122 to #121 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]

User avatar #126 to #122 - GnRNoD (05/06/2013) [-]
Yup, idk if you have to beat it at veteran only or if it works with medium too but it's there.
i wouldn't recomend you playing it like that tho... it's not about skills it's about patience you just play each "scene" untill you know exactly how each enemy is going to react to whatever it is you do and know exactly when and were to shoot. Because you die from 1 shot. and enemies are a bit smarter.
User avatar #129 to #126 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]

User avatar #134 to #129 - GnRNoD (05/06/2013) [-]
I have Dark Souls, and a friend keeps insisting on me to play it, but i played the intro scene's and it just didn't seem like my kind of game...i prefer different RPG'S
He got to a part that there's two bosses a big one and a small one that throws ligthings or something and he had to format his pc..
User avatar #139 to #134 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]
That would be Ornstein & Smough. They're famously difficult.

Dark Souls is different from any other action/RPG I've played, really. It puts an emphasis on combat rather than story, without abandoning a deep RPG system. The combat itself is much slower-paced and more tactical than most other games. There's also the legendary difficulty, which is somewhat of a fallacy; it's a very punishing game. It doesn't let you make mistakes and live. However, if you don't **** up, it's really not that hard. It just demands a level of caution and patience that most gamers today lack. If you can get into it (and most can't), it's an extremely rewarding experience, with a very rich story, even if it takes a backseat to the gameplay.
User avatar #154 to #139 - GnRNoD (05/06/2013) [-]
i love a good story... but i hate being constantly aware of every move i make, i know it's skills and everything, but sometimes you just want to enjoy the ride.

He's playing Bioshock infinite now i think.
But my favourite RPG games (as an ad&d player) are Neverwinter nights 1&2 and Dragon Age 1(expansion and 2 are wayyyy too easy),
NWN is all about d&d rules and i love that even if it's 3.5 rules and i play 2.0
User avatar #169 to #168 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]

User avatar #176 to #169 - GnRNoD (05/06/2013) [-]
Well, me and my friends modded 2.0 (because that's what's so great about it) and addd skills and prestigie classes, i have my own world, with kingdoms, quests and even minor npc's like a monk or a simple soldier with backstories, i've created my own gods (even tho quite stolen from different mythologys) different kingdoms, different towns, i am yet to create a full city map, but i have my world map (i made it with Heroes 3 of might and magic map maker) i was thinking about using AoE2 to make the city maps.
User avatar #178 to #176 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]

twice a week if we can, but we had some spare time in the past.
When me and a friend started playing it the DM had so much expirience that we fell in love with the game.
I had a barbarian... first quest we go out on, go hunting cross and old guy, ask him if he has seen a caravan going by, he tells me to go away, go signal the others go back ask him again "why should i tell you anything?" -.-' because... i have an axe? stands up i lay a critical hit on him 94% crit, he survives it, i brake his hip, he starts casting a spell our mage uses detect spell, it's fireball "GET ON THE GROUND" i hit him again, we score the same initiative he casts fireball (i was lvl 1) i hit him when the fireball goes up our mage had cast magic proyectile and scored a lower initiative we took down a lvl 8 mage being lvl 1... the DM couldn't believe it, i thougth i had done something wrong but he told me that considering i was playing a barbarian i played my char perfectly.

Spec Ops was the biggest middle-finger to the CoD and Battlefield franchises that anyone could have possibly given in the form of a video game.
User avatar #187 to #181 - emazegenociide (05/06/2013) [-]
I can't wait until Battlefield gets its **** together and gets a better team multiplayer (as is I can have more than 3 [or whatever it is] friends play with me) so I can drop CoD and stick with Battlefield and Halo.

But yeah, all of this went downhill after CoD 4, little by little it has gotten worse until here we are, with honestly a joke of a game, if it weren't for all my friends who play it, I never would have got it. I have over 70 games that I have stocked up, I'm sure I could find a better use for my time when I get back from college and baseball to play than Black Ops 2
User avatar #189 to #187 - slandersalamander (05/06/2013) [-]
No CoDs have been worth playing since 4, in my honest opinion. I'm just not that into recent military shooters, really. The campaigns are short, boring, and cliched, and the multiplayer is never anything innovating.

I just realized something. Your character is a CIA agent undercover, and you have no obligations to shoot these innocent people. In the game, you get nothing whether you choose to shoot or not. It is all about the player, and not the game, and about the decisions he/she makes. If you let an NPC escape, you will never know what happens to him or her, but In the end of the level, you die anyway, and you get to think of what your actions had brought to this world, whether you are an innocent soldier or a violent murderer. I have never thought of this level like this before.

I actually realized that the title of the mission, "No Russian" has not one, but TWO meanings...

The first one is obvious...kill everyone in the airport and leave no one standing, including civilians, airport security, and the SRT(Special Reaction Teams).
The Second Meaning...when on the elevator going up to the security checkpoint, Makorov said, "Remember, no Russian", meaning DO NOT speak Russian. This is because Makorov knew Allen was undercover for the CIA and Makorov wanted the US to be blamed for the massacre at the airport, therefore, killing Allen, leaving behind American used weapons, and speaking English on the security cameras.

This game was well done in my opinion and teaches you that you can't always be a hero

Man that part of the game actually gave me the feels.
It was you trying to save the people and in the end...

You made a bad call.

that moment when you get past the white dust and find them all
the women holding her child

i wished there was a suicide button for the character at that moment

I think everyone was just excited to FINALLY get the chance to be the bad guy. It's the exact same reason people role with stuff like the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim.

i killed them all. a guy was bleeding and begged for help. bullet to the head.

its a ******* video game, does not effect in real lfie (that much for some, usally never) so whats the problem... In gta you all kill people. In SA3 you ****** them up with a dildo so why should a fps be problem?
#413 to #30 - anon (05/07/2013) [-]
Im trying to figure out wtf SA3 is... tell meeeeeeeeeeee
User avatar #457 to #413 - spankyy (05/07/2013) [-]
I'm not sure, giant dildo makes me think Saints Row 3, but that would be SR3. So i'm not really sure...
#496 to #457 - potrsr (05/07/2013) [-]
at first i wanted to type ''in SA you can kill some one with flowers'' but dildo one was better but forgot to change it to SR....

Since it's something to do with gta, San andreas?

They react a little more realistic here. If you saw a woman begging you to spare her child, it would be a bit more sadistic to shoot them rather than gunning down people running in GTA.

still pixels. not their fault if you cant tell the difference.
User avatar #358 to #235 - theist (05/06/2013) [-]
That's not the point. It's what the actions in the video game represent that causes all the controversy. Killing an innocent child in an airport when they are begging for help just because "it's a video game" can affect someone psychologically. That's why there is so much debate about it.
