has there been another episode like this at all? with just a single location/set of characters?
i really didn't like the episode very much. no drama, just fighting.

The next episode is only going to have two storylines, the Jon Snow diplomacy/assissination attempt, and Tyrion's death sentence, there's really no room for more than that.

But expect a few episodes to be one storyline in the future, GRRM likes to kill off tons of main characters in large battles, and every book, of which there are 5 currently, has at least 1 massive battle. Next season should have at least 3 episodes similar to this week's.

You forget about Bran, he's in the trailer for the next episode

+ the next episode is titled "the children"

Nope. A friend of mine is an extra in the show, and they'll show a little something with Brienne before this season is over.

No drama at all, you know, except 3 major characters dying, two of which didn't even have to die.

i liked it.

it's nice to see that when it comes down to it, they don't half-ass these things

sure we can watch nobles very cheaply drinking wine, plotting, and generally having conversations. But in a world with dragons, white walkers, and giant armies everywhere, you've got to dedicate some time to the fighting at some point.

On that note, i was kind of disappointed with denaerys' conquests., and the lannister/stark war. A lot of major battles in those were simply skipped, as if someone had hit autoresolve in a strategy game and just read the battle results afterwards. Those battles were mostly foregone conclusions with little interesting happening beyond the fighting, so it was understandable there. but they can't do that every time.

the wall content in this episode could have been a lot more condensed and fitted alongside other stories, but it did have a lot of interesting things that would have been kind of lame if they just happened offscreen and got talked about later, particularly the deaths of ygritte, the cannibal dude, and that first giant. Also the general revealing of the wall's defenses

No there hasn't.

But it was an important part of the book, which is why they had it.

Yes, the battle of Blackwater Bay was one episode with no other story lines included in that episode.

I can still see its face when I close my eyes. Who would make such a horrible creation? What did we do to deserve this?

she helped killing all his village, so yeah that justifies it.
#3 to #2 - johnnybing (06/10/2014) [-]
She specifically also killed his father...
#5 to #2 - anon (06/10/2014) [-]
Yeah, **** her, not killing Gilly is meaningless, she killed tens of other innocent civilians (including children, it's not like that village had zero children).

Anon has officially confused me.

Did you mistake it for sarcasm?
I don't think "She's a child slaughtering bitch" is very confusing.
