I never read the book before watching the show/movie version. The show/movie will always leave many things out. If I read the book first I can never appreciate the movie properly, but I can always appreciate the book even after seeing the movie.

Doesn't matter. Seeing it on screen with the gravitas that the episode had puts me still left me feeling shocked and depressed after the episode was over.

I LOVE the series, i really really really do. But I have yet to see a single thing in the tv show that wasn't better in the book/my mind.

Thats never going to change in any book to screen adaptation. For one, since you read the books first, you're obviously going to be attached to it more so. Not to mention the books are from Martin's mouth whereas the show is an interpretation, or a retelling of the story Martin created.

What I can't deny though, is that I can't imagine many else doing this fantastic a job with the series. I haven't seen a book to screen adaptation that I adore more than this series. That includes even more than LOTR imo.

100% agree

im just a little upset because a good 80% of my friends haven't read the books so every episode my Facebook explodes with OMG WTF and people asking me OMG THEY AREN'T GOING TO KILL insert character here ARE THEY!?!?!?! One of my friends was so bad about it that i sat him down and told him the entire plot of the rest of the series up till the end of the latest book. I have offered to loan the books to all of my friends and they either "don't have to the time to read a book" or say "I wont read a novel series until its done in case the author dies and cant finish it" which is the famous Robert Jordan excuse.
