I spent all day today in Anor Londo helping people beat O&S. I killed them 13 times by the end of the night.
"Thank you so much!"
"Thanks, I've been stuck for a while."
"omg thank you!"

Damn it feels good to be a Sun-Bro.

They have a higher chance of being summoned due to the fact that anyone that beats a boss with a sunbro gets a medal of sunlight.

I got all my 10 sun medals for helping people defeat O&S, after the first 8 times they actually weren't that hard, if you have two people.

Yup. This is what actually happened the trio went to Dorne to bask in the sun and women. Happy ending. The tv show is just a parallel universe.

But that's wrong, Solaire used a talisman (his own handmade talisman, in fact) not a chime. Chimes weren't even in Dark Souls.

Sorry, but it bothers me

#19 to #6 - jamesisnotreal (06/17/2014) [-]
you can save him by taking the secret passage in the demon ruins... By killing all the bugs down there, you get the sunlight maggot, which is the artifact that makes solaire become insane
User avatar #20 to #19 - notsoulmyr ONLINE (06/17/2014) [-]
Yeah but he lives a depressing life afterwards.
I was originally referring to the fact that Lordran had talismans, and Drangleic - chimes. And by the time Drangleic would come, Solaire would be long dead
#59 to #20 - John Cena (06/17/2014) [-]
Actually, the true ending has been revealed in interviews that the chosen undead saves solaire and fights gwyn, then afterwards leaves solaire, who then lights it with his own spirit, his joliness is stong enough to keep the kiln lit for a very long time

User avatar #22 to #20 - jamesisnotreal (06/17/2014) [-]
plus, pretty sure that drangleic and the dark souls 2 storyline was meant to be PRE dark souls, not post, due to obviously what happens at the very end of the dark souls story
User avatar #47 to #22 - thundagawd (06/17/2014) [-]
Adding onto everything Anon said, The "Heirs Of The Sun" covenant in Dark Souls 2 is literally the Warriors of Sunlight covenant from the first Dark Souls, but everything about it has "been forgotten as time passed". Even the popular sunbro skills (Great Lightning Spear, amongst many others) directly reference Knight Solaire as the leader of the covenant: "A miracle that launches a great spear of lightning. Said to be the legacy of an ancient clan whose leader was revered as the God of Sun. The name of the clan has been lost to time, but the gross incandescence of our magnificent father shall never wane."

Dark Souls 2i s definitely set after the events of Dark Souls 1.
User avatar #64 to #47 - jamesisnotreal (06/17/2014) [-]
well, thats fair enough dear sir, i cannot argue with that logic although it weird that it would be post game, as ultimately you have to choose in the ending of DS1 whether you re kindle the flame or not, so surely, if you left the world in dark, it would have caused drangleic to be dark also... but i'm just speculating now, which is pretty much all you can ever do with the dark souls storyline
User avatar #73 to #64 - thundagawd (06/17/2014) [-]
Yeah, that's the beauty of the series, there are so many theories and it's hard to prove/disprove any of them.

Though to quote Thesovereigngrave: "Actually, I believe the devs stated that if Solaire survives then in his world he travels to the Kiln of the First Flame and Links the Fire himself", I'm under the impression that Dark Souls 2 takes place in the aforementioned universe where Solaire was the one who rekindled the first flame, and not the Chosen Undead, which could make sense seeing as how a lot of the lore in the game points to Solaire being referred to as the "God of Sun". The First Flame is the origin of all fire in the universe in the Dark Souls lore (including the Sun), rekindling/relighting the First Flame would essentially bring light back into the world, I.E. it would restore the sun, which was burning out along with the First Flame. That act would basically make Solaire a Hero in his world, perhaps even enough for people to hail him as the "God of Sun", so Dark Souls 2 would basically take place after Dark Souls 1 in a world where the First Flame had been rekindled by knight Solaire.

Again, it's all speculation, but that's the fun thing about the Souls games!
#26 to #22 - John Cena (06/17/2014) [-]
It's post Dark Souls 1. The Lost Sinner soul for example makes direct reference to the Witch of Izalith and her failed attempt at relighting the First Flame. The Sinner is in that prison because she too tried to relight the First Flame, which was considered the most heinous of crimes.

Furthermore if you look at the cutscene when you enter the arena, you see that demonic parasite thing go into her eyeball. The same (albeit bigger) version of it is actually the Bed of Chaos from Dark Souls 1. Finally, she drops the Old Witch of Izalith Soul on NG+.

Eons have passed since Dark Souls 1. Everyone related to the first game is long, long, long since dead and all but a notable few are even remembered.

Aren't they undead though? I think time wouldn't have much meaning to a spirit walking around doing spirit-y things. But then, I've never played Dark Souls, so my knowledge is rather lacking.
User avatar #21 to #20 - jamesisnotreal (06/17/2014) [-]
true, but at least he doesn't die/ you don't have to kill him... after all me and sunbro went through, i'd rather jump on my own sword than harm him...
User avatar #41 to #21 - thesovereigngrave (06/17/2014) [-]
Actually, I recall reading somewhere that the developers stated that if Solaire survives, then he Links the Fire in the Kiln of the First Flame in his world.
