It would be easier than a PC desktop because it's built in to the screen. The downside is you have to use a mac that take mac accessories and runs mac apps.

Yeah, it would all be much easier than a PC desktop definitely, i've never really liked macs myself but i guess that is just because i don't do anything creative...

anything a mac can do a pc can do...

and vice versa, making both Mac's and PC's equally good computers.

Can it play games?
User avatar #151 to #140 - mrboombastico (06/02/2012) [-]
Yes, you can play any game on a mac that you can play on a PC.

oh yeah and pc can play games, macs can't, thanks bro for reminding me.

Wow, nice comeback, but as the matter of fact a mac can easily run any game that a PC can run.
User avatar #155 to #152 - deantaylor (06/02/2012) [-]
yeah when the hype of the game has died down from all other port for like 6 months.

no one wants to play games on a mac for multiple reasons and like wise most game developers wouldn't even think about making a port for a mac, only a very few do and some of those developers make a big loss.

Dude Im not saying that you can play only old pc games on a mac, you can play ANY pc game on a mac if you know how to install it properly. You can even play Battlefield 3 on a mac and it will work fine (Obviously not as good as on a gaming PC, but it can still run it normally).
User avatar #165 to #164 - deantaylor (06/02/2012) [-]
you can't install any game on a mac... that's why developers have to make ports for macs.

you know... like ps3 games can't play on an xbox.

There are 2 ways you can run any game on a mac:

1. Using a program such as Wine that will allow you to run any windows app/game on a mac.

2. Install Windows (It is legal to install windows on a mac, but illegal to install OS X on a pc) and any game will work absolutely fine.

Im pretty sure that there are some other methods that involve reprogramming a game or whatever, but these are the 2 EASY ways how you can run ANY pc game on a mac. So the statement 'You can't play pc games on a mac' is total BS.

why would you buy a mac to install windows? never understood that logic. to have the "best" of both is just an excuse IMO.
User avatar #168 to #167 - mrboombastico (06/02/2012) [-]
Here are a few reasons:
-Macbook's have really good batteries, they can last you for a really long time without having to charge it, so it's good for school/college.
-Mac's are good for software & editing.

Finally, why buy a mac and install windows? basically if you want to have a nicely designed laptop with a very good battery like that you will use for editing (OS X Partition), and at the same time want to game on it (Windows partition).

Buying a separate Mac and PC would be too expensive.

buying a separate mac would be too expensive*
User avatar #170 to #169 - mrboombastico (06/02/2012) [-]
But what if you want to game on it? Good pc's are not much cheaper than mac's, so buying each one separately will cost you like $1,800 approximately.

either not as efficient or NOT AT ALL.
User avatar #171 to #170 - deantaylor (06/02/2012) [-]
you can get a computer / laptop with the same power and capability as any mac for half the price or less.

on top of that, pc are not only personal and customisable, but they are also up-gradable, again much cheaper than a mac. one last valid point, you won't be able to play old games that don't have mac ports as efficient as a pc.
User avatar #173 to #171 - mrboombastico (06/02/2012) [-]
Yes that is true that PC's are cheaper, but as I said earlier, Mac's are better for software and editing, which is why you see a lot of editors and famous youtubers have Mac's.

Just so you know, Im not against PC's at all, in fact I like PC's since I have been a PC user for 6 years. I chose a Mac simply because Im planning to do film studies in college, and plus it's really portable, light, good battery life and has a nice design.

So Im not even convincing you that Mac's are better than PC's, I was just fighting against the argument that Mac's cannot run PC games. Every person can choose whatever computer they want, and I don't see whats the point on arguing with other people about which computer is better.
User avatar #174 to #173 - deantaylor (06/02/2012) [-]
the only benefit i see with a mac is editing and graphics is EASIER to perform, however it is defiantly not worth the price, but then again, education is priceless and important.

My pleasure.
