**** online homework, this bs happens all the time

incorrect: the answer is 10 or 2

your answer is 2 or 10
#23 to #4 - anon (05/20/2013) [-]
I hate it, but I have to be understanding of this ******** : stuff like the 2 or 10 takes extra time to code.
User avatar #56 to #23 - posttwo (05/20/2013) [-]
Not really... One maybe two extra lines
seriously its just an extra if statement
if($answer1 === $correct1 && $answer2 ==== $correct2){
correctAnswer('questionid')
}elseif{$answer1 === $correct2 && @answer2 === $correct1){
correctAnswer('questionid')
}

And I can already think of a way to make it shorter (OR ||) but I dont feel like testing it now.

You have to suck pretty hard if that is a problem.
#32 to #4 - anon (05/20/2013) [-]
I might be wrong here... But if it was 2, wouldn't the first answer be wrong?
2-10= -8 and negative 8 is not greater than negative 8. So, wouldn't the answer be 5 6 7 8 or 9?

What ******* idiot can't tell the difference between 4 and 4? Jesus Christ people, one's the number before 5 and the other comes after 3, how do you get those mixed up?
#54 to #25 - anon (05/20/2013) [-]
It is fairly obvious that the computer asked for 9 not 4.
#44 to #25 - demicus (05/20/2013) [-]
Four? What is this "Four" you speak of?
#11 - CaptainKill (05/20/2013) [-]
I took the pleasure of saving all of my little online homework rage moments.
#29 to #11 - royaltea (05/20/2013) [-]
Wait...shouldn't the answer be 4 if it's one significant figure? Or is that your point?
User avatar #30 to #29 - CaptainKill (05/20/2013) [-]
I tried 4, and it didn't work, so I tried the whole answer which was actually three sig figs. Then it basically said closeenough.jpg and said the correct answer is 3.8 which is two sig figs.
User avatar #31 to #30 - royaltea (05/20/2013) [-]
Welp, I'm glad I don't have to use that clearly flawless site for my degree. Chemistry's already a fickle bitch as it is.
User avatar #59 to #30 - mortisvelox (05/20/2013) [-]
With anything involving acids and bases, sig figs are only counted after the decimal place. So for 3.8, you actually only have one sig fig.
#61 to #59 - CaptainKill (05/20/2013) [-]
I looked that up and you are correct. However, on every other problem regarding acids and bases, the standard rules of sig figs applies instead, so I think they still ****** up here.

This one came up on masteringbio, the hint does not help in any way.

This one isn't rage inducing but it makes me wonder...
User avatar #24 to #12 - schwerdaddy (05/20/2013) [-]
It would be the BK Whopper. I don't even study biology.
#39 to #24 - fcrocker (05/20/2013) [-]
Or would it be the Fillet-O-Fish?
User avatar #88 to #39 - schwerdaddy (05/21/2013) [-]
Not sure if there was a joke here or not, but the Filet-o-fish should be native to McDonaldland because it is sold at McDonald's irl

I was thinking that all the rest are Beef, but you're probably right
#22 - chrisruler (05/20/2013) [-]
thats because you put a ********* of spaces before it.
User avatar #57 to #22 - posttwo (05/20/2013) [-]
and thats why smart programmers always remove pre and after whitespace before checking
