Lord of the Rings is way better.
Gandalf is a ******* Demi God who has lived countless lives and pretty much shaped the world if I'm not mistaken.
The Witch King conquered Arnor, he wasn't killed by a loophole but an enchanted dagger that broke a spell on him, which allowed bitch tits to stab him in the ******* head.
Samwise carried Frodos bitch ass across Mordor and got **** done, never even wanting credit. He slaughtered a giant spider and a bunch of Orcs to protect that bastard. He carried him up a ******* constantly erupting Volcano. That is way better than a ginger that ***** his pants at the mere SIGHT of a spider.
Finally, an insane, corrupted hobbit that wants redemption but has a constant battle of good and evil going on inside his head is way cooler than a pompous know it all.

Conclusion: Lord of the Rings is the victor.

Illuvatar (the most powerful being) shaped the world. Gandalf was simply a Maia, who were like lesser gods (while the Valar were the major gods).

Sauron wasn't the big bad boss guy? Is this something I would know if I had read the books?

If you red ALL the books, then yes._ "Melkor was the most powerful of the Ainur, but turned to darkness and became Morgoth, the definitive antagonist of Arda from whom all evil in the world of Middle-earth ultimately stems."_ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgoth

Gandalf has done more magic than that! The only reason you barely get to see it is because he only uses it when it's absolutely necessary. He pretty much implies that he can **** your **** up if he wants to.

Dumbledore beats Gandalf? He's pretty badass, but Gandalf is literally immortal. And as a physical being, he is 2021 years old, and before that, he was a spirit created at the beginning of time. And Death eaters beating the Nazgul? Death eaters were just bad people. The Nazgul were wraiths of corrupted kings. Come on. I loved the Harry Potter books, but why would you even try to compare it to the LOTR? Tolkien managed to create an entire fantasy universe in great detail and is one of the greatest writers.
