I don't quite understand this Monster hate. That Lemonade Monster Rehab stuff is ******* crack mixed with orgasms. I'm a douchebag just because I happen to drink something with a negative label on the side of it? Yeah, OK. I thought this site also detested hipsters.

I don't hate it but you shouldn't drink it. Heath wise energy drinks are about the worst thing you can drink short of battery acid.

Can you explain? I understand that monsters are bad for you...the carbonated green ones anyway, which is why I tend to drink the non carbonated lemonade rehab monsters. Let me just go get one and read what it says off the label:

Vitamin C 1.8 mg 4%
Vitamin B3 20 mg 100%
Vitamin B5 10 mg 100%
Vitamin B6 2 mg 100%
Vitamin B12 6 mcg 100%
Calcium 14 mg 1%
Phosphorous 23 mg 2%
Magnesium 12.6 mg 3%
Sodium 110 mg 5%
Potassium 35 mg 1%

Calories 10
Total carb 3g 1%
Sugars 3g
per serving, of which there are two.

Sure, it's got the energy blend everyone associates with heart problems, diabeetus, cancer, abortion, and child molestation, but "the worst thing you can drink short of battery acid"

Riiiiight *siiip*

I can't speak to the rehab ones because I've never had one but yes the regular ones, along with virtually every other energy drink is basically a bunch of caffeine and sugar.
Caffeine : 160 mg per 16 oz can which doesn't sound like a lot until you realize that a spoonful of caffeine is easily enough to kill you.
Sugar: 54 grams. (That's two oz) Put two ounces of sugar on a scale and look at how much is actually in every can.
As for all the boasts about natural minerals and vitamins like 100% of this or that sounds like a good thing except for the fact that you need such an insignificant amount of most of those vitamins to begin with.
People don't realize how bad those drinks are for you. And also take in to consideration that as if all that sugar isn't bad enough but it's usually fake corn syrup or something along those lines that are even worse for you than sugar.
If you want to be energized drink coffee. It's nowhere near as bad for you.

Yeah, I know about the green ones. I drink one every once in a while to remind myself of why I don't drink them. I get through a 4th of it and think "I feel like I've had enough". I know how things like carbonation, sugar, and caffeine effect your body. I drink the rehab because, well...the whole point of being addicted to energy drinks is to drink energy drinks. I like it, it gives me a buzz, and with the lemonade rehab takes like crack covered crack deep fried in crack. Since I'm going to drink energy drinks anyway, I'd rather pick the one that's non carbonated and at least has some of that **** that's good for you, insignificance of what's needed aside.

It's like parenting: You can teach your kids about sex. You can teach your kids the dangers of sex. The one thing you're probably NOT going to do is keep your kids from having sex at least once in their lives. With that, it's more worth your effort to teach your kids to at least be smart about sex than to try and suppress it altogether.

Besides, I try to only have one can at a time. I'm not guzzling the **** at every waking minute. ****** expensive.

Don't worry about carbonation. It's harmless. Carbon dioxide isn't poisonous in small doses like that. It only kills you because it suffocates you.

I know it's not toxic. Were it toxic, I'd be dead a long time ago from drinking Dr. Pepper non stop. It does, however, have this nasty tendency to dehydrate you, which is what's bad about drinking it on extended road trips, or while working out. It's one of the reasons they barred us from drinking it during training periods. Carbonated alcohol does the same thing...you know...aside from the OTHER thing...
User avatar #347 to #346 - cjklefty (04/11/2012) [-]
Well alcohol dehydrates you to begin with. It's what causes the majority of a hangover.

Yep, yet people still scoff at me when I tell their retarded ass to drink water when they complain of a hangover. Funniest **** about the weekend.

Yeah whenever I drink and I start to get buzzed I drink a glass of water then every other drink I have another glass of water and then one at the end of the night. I drank half 5th of crown royal, 2 shots of tequilla, and 5 beers and just had a slight headache the next day using that method.

OP here, just wanted to say I in no way condone the hatred of any beverage. Beverage hate crime is sweeping through our society and we must as a people put down are preconceptions that other people may care we don't like something they don't. Sure drinks come in all colours and tastes, but at the end of the day they all turn to piss in the end.

I'm pretty high and that was way funnier in my head
